Chapter 202: Chapter 155: The Sword is Drawn_2

Being merely an intermediate Mutant, he was capable of exhibiting strength that surpassed that of an advanced Mutant!

Although the Mechanical Rebel Army’s strength was significantly reduced once they entered the Star Realm, their low cost and rapid development advantages allowed them to operate widely on Earth.

The mechanical modification technology and biotechnology of the American Federation were unmatched on Earth.

Ji Xinghuo walked out of the Star Gate hall.

At this moment, Immortal City was experiencing a rainy night.

Under the rain-soaked night, a brightly lit city that never slept unfolded before his eyes; endless skyscrapers stretched as far as the eye could see, with neon lights flickering in a dizzying fashion.

Ji Xinghuo took a pair of smart glasses out of his pocket and put them on; the lenses activated the screen and loaded the support system within a second.

The function of smart glasses was similar to that of a smartphone but they were far more powerful.

People were coming and going around him, each face displaying indifference.

Most people showed no interest in Ji Xinghuo standing by the roadside, and the occasional glances thrown his way carried a hint of concealed malice.

Ji Xinghuo waited a few minutes; a magnetic levitation car stopped in front of him and he silently got in. The car sped down the street and soon entered the superconductive highway. As he looked out the window at the city, the surface appeared no different from Chang’an—equally bustling and glamorous.

But his magnetic perception revealed many subtle differences.

First were the people.

The residents of Immortal City, most of whom had undergone physical modifications, replaced their limbs or organs with artificial machinery, and carried various weapon mechanisms with them.

Next was the security.

The magnetic levitation car had only traveled a few kilometers when Ji Xinghuo sensed three battles, occurring indoors or in secluded alleys, quickly resulting in fatalities.

The population density of Immortal City was also much higher than he had imagined.

"There must be more than a hundred million people," Ji Xinghuo thought to himself.

He looked into the distance; only the central district of Immortal City was flat land, accounting for less than one-tenth of the area. The more extensive city area was built amidst mountains where countless staggered buildings covered the mountainside, no trees in sight, only concrete and steel stretching to the horizon.

The magnetic levitation car crossed half the city and entered an unremarkable building, parking in the garage.

A route prompt popped up in the smart glasses.

Located deep underground in this building was one of the Sword Bureau’s secret bases in South America.

Without the need for prompts, Ji Xinghuo’s magnetic perception had already scanned the entire building and the underground space clearly in his mind.

After undergoing two identity verifications and matching the secret signal, Ji Xinghuo took the elevator down into the base.

There were a dozen people in the conference room.

Ji Xinghuo’s glance swept over, quickly picking out nine Chi Xiao Knights aside from himself, though they had all disguised their faces, making it impossible to discern their true appearances.

"Everyone is here, let’s get started."

A middle-aged man seated at one end of the conference table stood up and said, "I am Liu Tiansi, the director of the South American branch. You can call me ’Iron Hand.’

He cut to the chase without any small talk.

The projection screen displayed Shen Yucheng’s information and the various places he had been seen in Immortal City over the past few days, along with the people he had contacted.

"Shen Yucheng is a Super Flame Frenzy; his strength is formidable, but that’s not the key," Liu Tiansi said as his gaze swept across the ten Chi Xiao Knights, "The key is to find him and retrieve the data he has. The mission details have been sent to you. I don’t care how you do it, but you must complete the task within 72 hours, dead or alive."

"You can find all the weapon equipment and vehicles you need prepared in the base."

"Go!"

Ji Xinghuo left the conference room and entered a spacious armory, where the Chi Xiao Knights were busy selecting weapon equipment that suited them.

He picked up an iron hammer and over a hundred rounds of high explosive ammunition and hung them at his waist.

Then he got a light wheel motorbike.

"New Sky."

Ling Yufei suddenly came over. She had chosen a laser gun and an electromagnetic rifle for herself, along with various tactical tools, and asked, "Want to collaborate?"

Ji Xinghuo thought for a moment, then shook his head, "Maybe next time."

Having said that, he started the Light Wheel Motorbike, and with a rumble, he drove into the garage passage and soon left the Sword Bureau’s base.

The Chi Xiao Knights all watched him as he left.

"Who is that?"

"His codename is ’New Sky’. He was reportedly promoted to Chi Xiao Knight last month."

"He seems quite capable, taking only an Iron Hammer with him and leaving so quickly," one Chi Xiao Knight exclaimed, astonished. "Does he already have a lead?"

"A rookie can’t be that capable."

Ling Yufei listened to the Chi Xiao Knights’ discussions, feeling conflicted inside. She guessed why Ji Xinghuo had refused to work with her; he feared she would slow him down.

But she also didn’t believe Ji Xinghuo could complete the mission alone.

With a population exceeding a hundred million, finding one person in a city as large as Immortal City is immensely difficult. Moreover, this is Immortal City, not Chang’an; without the support of official organizations and forces, the many powers within the city would never allow anyone to run wild on their turf.

Boom, boom, boom...

The rain outside had already stopped.

Ji Xinghuo drove the Light Wheel Motorbike, leaning forward as he sped along the Superconductive Highway, quickly reaching a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.

During the days he dated Zhao Manying, he often rode her Light Wheel Motorbike. Though he hadn’t obtained a driving license, he easily mastered the motorbike’s driving techniques. For Ji Xinghuo, who possessed Microscopic Perception, speeds of three to four hundred kilometers per hour were not too fast.

The smart glasses displayed a map of Immortal City.

His destination was not far.

It was a district within Immortal City, covering approximately five square kilometers, located in a more peripheral area, controlled by a gang called "Dark Tide Gang."

The Dark Tide Gang’s scale was not small, with over a thousand members.

The gang leader, nicknamed "General," had a considerable reputation in Immortal City, was very strong, resolute in action, and had deep connections in the underworld.

It was said that the backing power behind him was the "JSKD Company."

This company was part of the Giant Consortium, one of the three major consortiums governing Immortal City.

The Giant Consortium was well-known on Earth, ranking among the top four out of the thirteen consortiums in the American Federation. With its tentacles deeply embedded in various industries in America, principally in finance, as well as in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and Star Realm materials, Alien Species, it had numerous patents in biotechnology.

"General," backed by a company under the Giant Consortium, thus, his gang was essentially an external enforcer for the consortium.

With such a significant backing, not many in Immortal City dared to provoke the Dark Tide Gang.

Moreover, the General himself was a Super Giant General, just a step away from becoming a Legendary, and he also possessed a whole Mechanical Rebel Army always guarding him.

The General took pride in his achievement when a Legendary Mutant once attempted to assassinate him and he narrowly escaped.

He claimed he could rank among the top thousand in the heavenly ladder.

Although no one believed the General was that powerful, he had been standing tall in Immortal City for over a decade, proving himself as one of the true big shots.

The Sword Bureau had informants within the Dark Tide Gang.

Two days earlier, the General had met with Shen Yucheng, but it was unknown what they discussed.

Shen Yucheng had met several people in Immortal City, and the General was just one of them.

The Chi Xiao Knights certainly knew that "General" might be their biggest breakthrough, but directly confronting him to pry open his mouth was impossible; a meticulous plan was needed to approach him.

However, Ji Xinghuo lacked that patience.

As soon as he saw this lead, he immediately took action.

Several minutes later.

Ji Xinghuo arrived at the district, his Light Wheel Motorbike coming off the Superconductive Highway and into a secluded alley, where he turned off the engine, dismounted, and with a magnetic field sensor confirming no cameras around, lightly pressed the motorbike, which then disappeared, tucked away into his Dimension Stomach.

He also put away his smart glasses, walked out of the dark alley, and looked up at a large building across the street.

This building, over fifty stories high, was the headquarters of the Dark Tide Gang. Within seconds, his magnetic field sensor located the "General."

Ji Xinghuo crossed the street and approached the base of the building.

Several gang members guarding the entrance immediately pointed guns at him, about to shout at him, when a wave of an invisible force field burst from Ji Xinghuo, quickly expanding to hundreds of meters range.
