In the Four Seas Group office, Luo Sihai sat sighing. It had been quite some time since he last assisted Su Lin, and there had been no contact from him since. Nor had there been any tasks assigned to him.

Su Lin chuckled, “Don’t worry, our grudges with the Xiao family will be settled soon. I’m about to start university, and I can’t be distracted with other matters.”

After hanging up, Luo Sihai promptly set his people into action. Meanwhile, Su Lin, who had just finished his call, turned around to see that He Suxi had likely gone off on her own tasks, so he smiled and headed upstairs.
Before he could take the stairs, his phone rang again. Seeing Jiang Ruoxi’s call, Su Lin paused and then answered.
“Hello, Su Lin!”
Hearing Jiang Ruoxi’s somewhat nervous voice, Su Lin raised an eyebrow, “Ruoxi, what’s up? You sound quite distant all of a sudden.”
“No… no, I just didn’t want to disturb you,” stammered Jiang Ruoxi.
She had been shocked when she learned that Su Lin was a Human immortal. If anyone else but her uncle had told her, she wouldn’t have believed a word. Yet it had come from Jiang Yixian himself, and she knew how proud her uncle was.
Accepting this information had significantly altered her casual attitude towards Su Lin. In Xia country, human immortals were held in awe by everyone, Jiang Ruoxi included, especially considering Su Lin’s youth.
Unaware that it was this revelation that made Jiang Ruoxi so cautious, Su Lin thought she needed a favor and said, “It’s no bother, tell me what you need.”
“I… I… Do you have time tonight? I’d like to invite you to dinner, to thank you for helping my uncle.”
Hearing her relieved sigh over the phone, Su Lin was taken aback by how much she had changed in just a few days. A beauty inviting him out, of course, he wouldn’t decline.
“I’m free tonight, I’ll bring Xiaowan and the others along.”
“No…” Jiang Ruoxi hurriedly interrupted.
“Hmm? What’s wrong, Ruoxi?”
“I just wanted to thank you, there’s no need to bring everyone else, it might be awkward with so many people.”
Realizing the potential awkwardness of the situation, especially since all the other girls were involved with him, unlike Jiang Ruoxi, who had felt out of place at previous gatherings, Su Lin laughed, “Alright, then just me.”
“Okay, let’s meet at the Purple Bamboo Garden at five.”

After hanging up, Jiang Ruoxi let out a sigh of relief and curiously wondered about Su Lin, who was even younger than her yet already a human immortal.

“Ruoxi, why are you talking to yourself in the yard?”
