Chapter 356: Chapter 357: The Fundamental Sees the Fundamental
There was some noise on the other end of the phone, and Luo You deliberately lowered his voice, "It’s about that incident with you and the JY girl group!"
"Didn’t we agree earlier? To clarify on the show that you have no contact with JY and to inform the media that you left the group because you weren’t valued. Then you finish recording the final episode and run off to have dinner with them that night, isn’t that like slapping your own face?"
He Jinxia carried her lunch box and walked to a secluded corner, saying, "I changed my mind on the spot."
Luo You asked, "Give me a reason."
He Jinxia replied, "I realized it’s much more interesting to create rumors of a good relationship than those of discord."
Luo You was speechless... What kind of reason was that?
Anyway, he absolutely didn’t believe that He Jinxia changed her methods of dealing with JY on a whim.
After thinking it over, Luo You couldn’t help but ask, "Jinxia, what exactly do you want to do?"
A smile on He Jinxia’s face faded slightly as she said calmly, "Don’t worry, there won’t be any problems. No fighting, no bitching, there are ways to deal with JY... you can think of it as me adopting a different approach."
Luo You let out a silent sigh. Jinxia was good in many ways, but this was her shortcoming—she would keep things to herself. She wouldn’t talk about an issue unless she absolutely couldn’t handle it alone and needed the team’s help.
Fortunately, aside from the JY girl group issue, Jinxia handled everything else well, and most of those were minor matters after all.
"I’m going to finish eating and get ready for the program," He Jinxia’s clear voice came through the phone.
Luo You snapped back to reality and, with a heavy heart and grave voice, gave a few admonitions before hanging up.
As soon as he opened the door, someone was standing in front of him, startling Luo You so much he took a step back.
"What are you doing standing at the door?"
Zhang Ming looked at him with a smile, seemingly harmless and innocently said, "You were in the restroom for so long. I tried the knob several times and couldn’t open it, so I just waited outside."
A hint of apology crossed Luo You’s face as he stepped aside, saying, "Did I lock the door? I forgot, I’m sorry."
As he was about to step out, suddenly, Zhang Ming reached out a hand to stop him. Leaning in, he whispered a few words into Luo You’s ear, which caused Luo You’s expression to change instantly.
"Alright, I got it," Luo You nodded at him and didn’t head to the meeting room but instead took the elevator to the top floor of the company.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, their conversation had been witnessed by some employees in the corridor and spread at lightning speed throughout the office group chat.
So by the time Luo You arrived at the top floor of the company and passed by the secretarial area, he received many sidelong glances from the secretaries.
Luo You was not oblivious to their gazes and thought perhaps his clothes were disheveled, but when he looked down at his attire, everything was in order!
After entering the president’s office, some gossiping secretaries had already gathered together to discuss:
"I originally thought Assistant Zhang and the president were an item, but Assistant Zhang is getting married next month, so could it be that the president and Agent Luo are together?"
"Pshaw, get your mind out of the gutter. This is the first time Agent Luo has ever come to the president’s office, so how can you say they are a couple? We all guessed wrong about Assistant Zhang and the president before, maybe the president is straight, straight!!"
However, rational voices are often drowned out in the flood of gossip, barely making a ripple before being crushed by countless incoming waves.
"I hadn’t realized the company had an Agent Luo before, but now that I see him, he looks pretty good, not frail at all, quite manly."
"Wait, aren’t we getting off-topic? Seeing that photo, shouldn’t we feel that Assistant Zhang and Agent Luo make a good match? Why have we all started fantasizing about the president?"
"Silly you, Assistant Zhang is getting married, it wouldn’t be appropriate to randomly match him with someone. On the other hand, the president has had no rumors from his debut until now, it doesn’t matter whether he’s matched with a man or a woman, I don’t even know what Agent Luo is coming up to see the president about..."
A group of terrifying women were discussing back and forth, their eyes blinded by the bromance, completely overlooking the fact that He Jinxia was in Luo You’s hands, which was quite amazing.
In the office, Luo You was reporting He Jinxia’s work schedule to Sheng Yan, laid out the plans for after, and then spoke about the grievances between Jinxia and the JY girl group.
After listening, Sheng Yan pondered for a bit and slowly began, "Jinxia is cautious and has her own set of principles for her actions. You don’t need to worry too much, just give JY your full support."
Luo You nodded, "Okay."
Sheng Yan, "As for the Deng Zhaoyan matter—"
His words paused, his brows imperceptibly furrowed as many thoughts flickered through his mind, but they were quickly dismissed.
Finally, he let out an imperceptible sigh and said in a deep voice, "Tell Jinxia all about it, let her make her own decisions. From now on, I won’t intervene in her affairs without her consent, but I need to be informed about everything."
Luo You also nodded, indicating he understood. Seeing there was nothing else, he took his leave.
He had originally thought that when Assistant Zhang said the president needed to see him it was for some important matter, but it turned out to be a report on Jinxia’s work.
Luo You’s brow furrowed, a hint of contemplation flashing in his eyes, feeling that Sheng Yan’s inquiry into Jinxia’s matters was somewhat out of place.
But he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly was wrong.
The two were relatives, and it was he who filed the report against the JY girl group on behalf of Jinxia, so Sheng Yan’s concern for He Jinxia was both reasonable and emotional.
After leaving the office, Luo You passed the secretarial office area and once again received a baptism of stares from many secretaries.
Luo You paused his steps, turned to glance at them, and instantly met with the secretaries’ uniformly standard smiling faces.
Luo You felt uncomfortable under their gaze and quickened his pace to leave.
Once he had left, a secretary let out a sigh, "If the president continues to stay single, I feel like I’d consider any man appearing by his side as his partner."
This sentiment received approval from countless secretaries in the office.
Time flew by, and soon, night fell, stars filled the sky, and lights glimmered brilliantly.
At seven in the evening, "Music Strongest Sound" officially began recording!
All the mentors opened the show by guest-starring in other mentors’ works and also brought up the special guests for appearances.
He Jinxia and Yang Xingxin were the last ones to appear. The guests brought by the earlier mentors were greeted with huge cheers from the audience. All those guests were either popular figures or long-established singers in the Huaxia music circle.
In terms of fame and experience, they far surpassed He Jinxia.
Backstage at the staging area, Yang Xingxin and He Jinxia were sitting in the elevator lift, ready at any moment. Even at night during the hot summer, there wasn’t a breeze to be felt, and He Jinxia felt sweat forming on her forehead and couldn’t help but reach up to wipe it.
In her ears were the clear introductions of the host and the enthusiastic cheers of the audience, Yang Xingxin stood beside her, her lips moved as she began to speak, but her voice seemed to come from far away, unclear.
He Jinxia watched her lips move and understood her words—
