Chapter 200 Good Looking

Chapter 200: Chapter 200 Good Looking

He Jinxia thought for a moment, gently shook her head, and said, "You all are continuing filming tonight, aren’t you?"

Yang Xiaoqing was taken aback, "Yes, the crew is rushing to finish this month. Since there are many scenes set at night, we decided to shoot them all at once. But don’t worry about us, just having dinner and chatting for two hours is definitely enough."

He Jinxia still refused, resolute in her stance, "No need, I need to catch a plane tomorrow to another city for promotion. I’d better rest as much as possible. Sister Qing, you all are also tired from rushing the filming. There’s no need to throw a wrap party just for me."

Yang Xiaoqing tried to persuade her again, but He Jinxia still wouldn’t come. In the end, she even brought up Director Gu, "If Director Gu finds out that you’re tired during tonight’s filming because of throwing a wrap party for me, she would kill me!"

He Jinxia’s tone was slightly exaggerated, and though she was joking, it was true that someone as strict about filming as Director Gu might actually resent her for it.

All the actors in "Small Bridge, Flowing Water, People" were rushing to finish. Personal interests had to be set aside under the heavy filming schedule.

Seeing her response, Yang Xiaoqing expressed regret and then hung up the phone.

After hanging up, she turned to her assistant and said, "Send a message to the other actors saying that He Jinxia has to catch a plane early tomorrow and is already asleep, so she can’t come."

The assistant nodded, thought of something, and asked softly, "Sister Qing, did He Jinxia sense the other actors’ intentions?"

What were the other actors thinking?

They were just jealous seeing her constantly trending online while promoting, and they wanted to ride on her coattails for some popularity!

Yang Xiaoqing knew that if He Jinxia attended this wrap party, paparazzi would definitely snap her photo and immediately post it on marketing accounts!

Not only could they bask in her limelight, but they could also promote "Small Bridge, Flowing Water, People" at the same time—a win-win situation!

Too bad, though; their plans were good, but they couldn’t compare with someone who was also clear-headed and uninterested in participating.

With He Jinxia’s current popularity and value, once the film was released, it would definitely go viral. Not to mention the TV show she was lined up for next—the role of "Su Qingwan" was not a simple one...

Yang Xiaoqing snapped back to reality, speaking softly, "Remember to do as I said. You’ve added He Jinxia’s assistant on WeChat, right? Try to develop a good relationship and chat more. He Jinxia is going to blow up this year."

The assistant’s expression grew serious, and he nodded solemnly.

On the other end, He Jinxia hung up the phone, then called Sister Xiao Hua to ask what time her flight was tomorrow.

Cheng Xiaohua said, "It’s in the afternoon tomorrow. You’ve been busy promoting or filming lately and your schedule is tight. Have a good rest tonight, rest well tomorrow, and don’t do anything to adjust. We don’t want you getting sick and ending up in the hospital again."

He Jinxia paused, somewhat helplessly saying, "Sister Xiao Hua, I’m not that fragile."

Cheng Xiaohua, "Every woman is a delicate flower that needs proper nurturing."

At that remark, He Jinxia didn’t say anything further, unable to refute. Wasn’t she a delicate flower then? Yes, she was a delicate flower... wait, something felt off?

Even if she was a flower, she should be a dominating one!

As He Jinxia was lost in thought, Cheng Xiaohua asked, "What would you like for dinner?"

She came back to reality, saying, "No need, I’ve already had dinner. You just take care of yourself."

Cheng Xiaohua, not suspecting anything, after hanging up, glanced at the time on her phone and suddenly furrowed her brow, sensing something was odd.

It wasn’t even 6:30 yet. They had arrived at the hotel at 5:30, and there weren’t any dining facilities in the hotel, so they had to go out to a restaurant. Could it be that Jinxia moved so fast that she had gone out to eat right after settling her luggage?

Cheng Xiaohua thought for a moment, then shrugged her shoulders and didn’t think any deeper; maybe it really was just like that.

On the other side, He Jinxia hung up the phone and began to shower, washing away all the fatigue from filming that day and soothing her spirits.

By the time she came out of the bathroom and had dried her hair, the clock had just struck seven.

He Jinxia glanced at the clock, having never felt time pass so slowly, occasionally looking down at her phone. When bored, she would look up to grab the remote control and change the channel.

The latest screen on her phone was frozen in WeChat, more specifically, in the chat interface with someone.

The last message from Sheng Yan had been sent at five thirty, consisting of just a few words—

"Wait for me, let’s eat together."

He Jinxia lay on the bed, hugging a pillow, her eyes on the TV screen. Gradually, her head lowered more and more, her eyes squinted into a slit, and then she completely closed her eyes, leaning her head against the pillow and falling asleep.

When Sheng Yan opened the door, this was the scene he saw.

He paused, a touch of tenderness crossing his eyes. He gently closed the door, adjusted the lighting at the entryway to be not so bright, but faintly dim yellow.

Sheng Yan tiptoed forward, placed the food he was carrying onto the table, then walked over to He Jinxia and leaned down to look closely at her.

Possibly because standing didn’t afford a good view, Sheng Yan simply sat on the bed. The soft mattress immediately sank at his weight, causing a slight vibration.

Sheng Yan lifted his hand and gently brushed aside the strands of hair that fell across her face, completely revealing Jinxia’s delicate face. Unfortunately, the enjoyment was short-lived as the strand of hair slowly drifted back to her face.

Sheng Yan then swept that strand of hair back again.

Before long, the strand slowly floated back, as if it were challenging him.

Sheng Yan: "..."

He stared at the strand of hair, meticulously not only brushed it back but also specifically tucked it behind her ear. He did all this with an expression so focused and serious it seemed as if he were signing off on a multi-million-dollar contract.

After he had finished, Sheng Yan’s furrowed eyebrows relaxed, and he then shifted his gaze back to He Jinxia’s face. As he looked up, he met her eyes, twinkling with amusement.

Sheng Yan paused, feeling slightly embarrassed.

He shifted his gaze slightly away and asked nonchalantly, "When did you wake up?"

He Jinxia, still holding the pillow, smiled gently, adjusted her posture to better observe Mr. Sheng, and said with interest:

"While you were wrestling with my hair."

Her voice was a bit husky from just waking up, lending an extra touch of lazy allure.

Sheng Yan felt his heart gently scratched by that voice, and he casually explained, "That strand of hair was blocking your face; it didn’t look nice."

He Jinxia uttered a sound in acknowledgment and asked with a smile, "Do I look nice now?"

Sheng Yan couldn’t help but look at her, his eyes darkening as he responded, "Beautiful."
