In the original script, Su Qingwan’s end came during a chaotic battle where she was accidentally killed by stray arrows from Jin Country.

In the revised script, after Xia Country people thwarted Jin Country’s surprise attack, amidst the cheers of all the citizens within the city, Su Qingwan, with a mix of laughter and tears, drank poison and committed suicide.

He Jinxia gently shook her head; in "Small Bridge, Flowing Water, People," Su Qingwan was indeed the most heartbreaking character.

They say the male lead is loved by the female lead, and the male supporting character is loved by the audience. Su Qingwan, this female supporting character, is likely to be cherished by the audience.
