Superstar From Age 0
Chapter 287

Chapter 287

Before the shooting began.

The actors gathered behind the PD Gong Hee-chan, who had a monitor.

The writer Yoo Cheong-ah also took a seat with an excited face.

“This is the first time I see Seo-jun’s acting! Hyung. Seo-jun is good, right?”

At Kang Tae-young’s question, Jo Bo-ram, PD Gong Hee-chan and writer Yoo Cheong-ah perked up their ears.

Seeing their reactions, Park Do-hoon smiled softly and opened his mouth.

“He’s much better than at the script reading. You can expect a lot.”

Park Do-hoon’s confident remark made their expectations soar.

They all looked at the monitor with sparkling eyes.

Assistant directors Kim Dan-bi and Choi Hyun-woo, and some of the staff members also craned their necks to see the monitor screen.

Only the staff members who had to keep their positions looked at the people gathered with regretful expressions.

“Ready, action!”

PD Gong Hee-chan’s voice was heard and everyone looked at the screen.

It rained.

Seo-jun slowed down the speed of opening the umbrella, but the people watching felt it even slower.

The yellow umbrella that slowly rose up, the raindrops that seemed to be visible one by one, the face that slowly appeared. It was suffocating but they couldn’t take their eyes off.

When Seo-jun finally revealed his face and smiled brightly, it seemed like flowers bloomed around Seo-jun, even though the lighting and the set were no different from before.

Silence flowed.

Yoon Hye-in and the cinematographer who saw Seo-jun’s face through the glass window in the bus.

And PD Gong Hee-chan, writer Yoo Cheong-ah, and the actors who were watching through the camera on the monitor.

The staff members who craned their necks to see Seo-jun’s first acting.

The people who were glued to the small monitor all stopped breathing without exception.

Especially, the female staff members didn’t blink their eyes.

They didn’t want to waste any time blinking.

It sounded like all the sounds in the world disappeared and only the raindrops falling to the ground were heard.

The staff members who couldn’t see Seo-jun’s acting because they were far away from the monitor were puzzled by the sudden silence.

The water truck kept spraying water.

They thought they should hear a cut sound soon, but they kept quiet because they didn’t know if this silence was also part of PD Gong Hee-chan’s direction.

Anh Da Ho, who was holding a towel to give to Seo-jun, laughed at the subtle atmosphere that filled the set.

Seo-jun, who was most familiar with Seo-jun’s acting, was the first to come to his senses.

‘What genre can’t Seo-jun do…’

He admired inwardly and tapped PD Gong Hee-chan’s shoulder.

“!! Cu, cut!!”

PD Gong Hee-chan, who was watching absent-mindedly, was startled by the sudden tap and shouted cut reflexively.

He didn’t even know what he was saying as he spoke honestly.

He came to his senses by his own voice and quickly added another word.

“Okay!”

At the okay sign, Yoo Sung-jin, who was smiling brightly, blinked his eyes a few times and turned into Lee Seo-jun.

Then he smiled and nodded at Yoon Hye-in and the cinematographer who had filmed with him across the bus window.

“My goodness…”

At Seo-jun’s appearance, Yoon Hye-in and the cinematographer exclaimed again.

They clearly saw Seo-jun’s face changing from ‘Yoo Sung-jin’ to ‘Lee Seo-jun’.

Just a moment ago, he was a boy full of love that made Yoon Hye-in forget her age and her heart beat faster. But in less than a second, that boy disappeared like a mirage.

That change was not only amazing but shocking.

It was like seeing a fantasy of first love.

Yoon Hye-in and the cinematographer’s eyes followed Seo-jun who received a towel from his manager and wiped off the water droplets that splashed even though he had an umbrella.

“…I thought I knew enough about Seo-jun’s on-off switch… But even though it’s the same smiling face, it feels so different.”

“Are all actors like that these days? I think this is the first time I’ve been shocked while filming.”

At the cinematographer’s words, Yoon Hye-in quickly shook her head.

“It’s Lee Seo-jun. Lee Seo-jun.”

The time started to flow again at the okay sound.

The people who were watching the monitor also came to their senses one by one.

Writer Yoo Cheong-ah covered her mouth.

“My goodness… No wonder writer So wanted to work with Seo-jun.”

There was a boy who looked more like ‘Yoo Sung-jin’ than writer Yoo Cheong-ah had imagined.

PD Gong Hee-chan also nodded his head as if he agreed.

He thought he knew enough about Seo-jun’s acting skills after Seo-jun’s casting was confirmed and he watched Seo-jun’s works, but it seemed that it was not enough.

PD Gong Hee-chan, who was replaying the footage, fell into deep thought.

Writer Yoo Cheong-ah, who was sitting next to PD Gong Hee-chan, couldn’t take her eyes off the monitor.

She had all kinds of ideas as if she had found a muse.

She couldn’t use them in this work, but they could be the start of the next work.

She quickly wrote them down in her notebook.

“This would be good for the trailer.”

At PD Gong Hee-chan’s words, writer Yoo Cheong-ah stopped writing.

She opened her eyes wide and only moved her lips.

“…The first episode’s ratings will be no joke.”

***

Assistant director Kim Dan-bi was sitting next to PD Gong Hee-chan and watching the footage on the monitor.

She kept admiring Seo-jun and said a word.

“My first love was in elementary school, but I don’t know why I suddenly see Seo-jun. Even with memory enhancement, he wasn’t that handsome…”

Memory enhancement or memory manipulation.

She seriously wondered and Choi Hyun-woo nodded his head.

“That was definitely shocking. I’m a man and I was surprised by his visuals. And that was without any background music or editing…”

He didn’t know what kind of screen would come out if they edited it on purpose.

“Right. If they add music and effects, it’ll be crazy.”

It would only be a matter of time before Lee Seo-jun, who was the national great guy, became the national first love.

They heard the trailer talk then.

Choi Hyun-woo swallowed his saliva at PD Gong Hee-chan’s terrifying opinion.

“It’ll probably come out at least two weeks before… It’ll be a mess. Well, at least we don’t have to worry about the ratings.”

The two assistant directors who only thought about ratings whether they sat or stood laughed with glee.

That’s how Seo-jun’s first shooting of ‘Spring Has Returned’ ended.

***

Seo-jun’s next shooting was an indoor shooting and it was a classroom set.

Seo-jun, who entered with Anh Da Ho, greeted the staff members and stopped his steps unknowingly when he saw the extras who were gathered a little away from the set so as not to interfere with the shooting preparation.

Anh Da Ho smiled slyly at Seo-jun’s blinking eyes.

“This is…”

Seo-jun uttered a groan at the sight of the extras.

The extras greeted him with playful faces at his confused look.

“Hi!”

“We’re here!”

“Hi, Seo-jun!”

“…Why are you all here?”

Kim Jukyung, Han Jiho, Kang Jaehan, Yang Juhee, and other kids were sitting together.

They had attended the same middle school until a month ago, and they would go to the same high school in a month.

“It’s a reunion of Yeoul Arts Middle School!”

As Han Jiho said that, Yang Juhee, who was about to nod her head unknowingly, quickly added.

“No, it’s not. We came here to shoot.”

The kids laughed at Han Jiho and Yang Juhee’s words. Seo-jun, who was looking at them incredulously, soon joined them.

Seo-jun took a seat next to the kids.

“But how did this happen?”

At Seo-jun’s question, Jukyung answered.

“I got a call from my agency asking if I wanted to do a minor role. It’s vacation time and Mirinae High School is more flexible than Yeoul Arts Middle School, so I said yes.”

The others nodded and chimed in.

“Besides, it’s a four-part series on public broadcasting.”

“You have to show your face well to get the next work.”

True.

If the school was the background, there had to be student extras.

And if they needed child actors, the best ones were from the golden generation of Yeoul Arts Middle School.

It was rather strange that there were no friends in places where child actors were needed.

Jaehan smiled and said to Seo-jun, who was nodding his head.

“But I saw an article saying that you’re in it. So I asked the manager to keep it a secret.”

“We wanted to surprise you.”

Seo-jun looked back at the words of his friends who were full of mischief. He smiled at Andaho’s face that was full of prank.

“Yeah. I was really surprised.”

As Seo-jun was having a pleasant conversation with his friends, the child actress for the female lead, Jo Boram, arrived.

Seo-jun called out to Boram, who had just entered the set.

“This is Jo Boram, the child actress for the female lead. She also entered Mirinae High School with us. And these are my friends from Yeoul Arts Middle School. They’re all going to Mirinae High School too.”

At Seo-jun’s introduction, Boram and his friends greeted each other with smiles. They were all nice kids and became friends quickly.

“Then we’ll go get ready for shooting.”

After talking with his friends for a while, Seo-jun and Boram started preparing for shooting.

They changed into uniforms and came out after putting on makeup.

The shooting preparation was almost over.

“We’ll start shooting!”

The voice of assistant director Choi Hyunwoo echoed in the set.

The kids who were already wearing uniforms went into the set and sat in their places that the assistant director had told them beforehand.

“It feels like we’re really at school.”

“Except for all the cameras around us.”

The kids laughed at Jukyung’s words.

Thanks to the child actors who laughed at anything, the set was full of energy.

Kim Danbi said that all the shooting preparations were done and PD Gong Heechan raised his voice.

“Ready, action!”

Kim Seoyeon, the class president of 2nd grade 1st class, was chatting with her friends.

“It’s already winter… And we’re seniors!”

“I hate college entrance exams.”

The kids giggled inwardly at Yang Juhee and Kim Jukyung’s lines that were full of sincerity.

The staffs, PD Gong Heechan, and writer Yoo Cheonga admired their natural acting as if they were saying their own words.

Then, the front door of the classroom opened and the homeroom teacher came in.

The kids closed their mouths at the appearance of the homeroom teacher.

The homeroom teacher looked around the quiet kids and said.

“Today we have a transfer student in our class.”

At the homeroom teacher’s words, the kids opened their eyes wide and whispered to their seatmates.

“What? We’re seniors already?”

“There are still people who transfer now?”

“Well, it’s better than transferring when you’re a senior.”

Kim Seoyeon, who nodded at Yang Juhee’s words, sensed something from the homeroom teacher who kept making eye contact with her.

She felt like she would have to take care of the transfer student as the class president.

‘I hope he’s a good kid.’

It was a burden to transfer in many ways. You had to make new friends and catch up with the lessons.

And soon there would be final exams.

Kim Seoyeon understood how the transfer student felt and decided to be nice to him.

Kim Seoyeon’s thoughts showed on her face and the camera captured Jo Boram’s acting perfectly.

The transfer student who had been looking around the classroom with a stiff face opened his mouth.

“Hello. I’m Yoo Seongjin. I came from the U.S.”

Wow. Amazing.

The kids exclaimed.

They knew he transferred from somewhere else, but they didn’t expect it to be the U.S.

Their eyes sparkled.

He was handsome and he came from the U.S., so he caught their attention at once.

“Then, Seongjin… Seoyeon.”

“Yes.”

At the homeroom teacher’s call, Kim Seoyeon, the class president, raised her hand.

Seongjin, who had been looking around the classroom since he came from the U.S., looked at Kim Seoyeon who was sitting by the window.

The transfer student Yoo Seongjin and the class president Kim Seoyeon’s eyes met.

It was their first meeting.
