Chapter 618: 0619 So angry it makes my teeth itch! (Third update)
Such a showoff!
Tang Ze, Tang Hao, and Tang Lu thought their ears were playing tricks on them. Did they hear that right? He wants to fight all of them by himself?
Ye Qiu looked at the astonished trio and said indifferently, "You heard correctly, and if you didn’t catch that, I can repeat it."
"You can all take action together, no need to argue about who goes first or last," said Ye Qiu, his face full of smiles, brimming with ease.
The only voice echoing throughout the venue was that of Ye Qiu. Although his voice wasn’t loud, it reverberated continuously, irritating everyone’s nerves.
Not just Tang Ze and the rest were stunned, but even the faces of several elders were filled with surprise.
Clan Leader Tang Heshan looked at Ye Qiu, his gaze a mixture of incomprehension and condescension. In his eyes, Ye Qiu was too arrogant. Even if the disciples of the Tang clan were not the strongest, they could still retaliate against legends of the martial world. To think he would insist on fighting three at once, Ye Qiu was surely still young and reckless!
Tang Surou saw her father’s increasingly poor impression of Ye Qiu and couldn’t help worrying for him. Their Tang clan’s disciples were not just any martial artists from the martial world. By doing this, Ye Qiu was taking quite a risk. He could have just taken them on one by one.
Both Tang Heshan and Tang Surou thought Ye Qiu was being rash, but Ye Qiu didn’t see it that way. Since these descendants of ancient lineages looked down upon those from the martial world, born with a sense of superiority, he didn’t mind letting them understand that all martial artists are equal, none superior to the others.
Murmurs of astonishment...
Among the Tang clan disciples, the majority were shocked by Ye Qiu’s domineering response, taking a good while to snap back to reality.
"Zzz... There’s actually such a fierce person in the martial world, those are Tang Ze, Tang Hao, and Tang Lu ah, the direct disciples of the elders!"
"Not to mention the outcome of a one versus three battle, just for this courage alone, I, Tang Huo, admire him," said a short statured person standing amidst the crowd.
Some female disciples of the Tang clan also showed ripples of interest in their eyes at Ye Qiu’s audacity. Was this young man really going to fight against three direct disciples of the great elders?
It must be said, Ye Qiu’s few casual remarks effectively counteracted the earlier squabble amongst Tang Ze and the others.
Tang Ze and his companions were vying with one another endlessly. Yet, Ye Qiu’s lightly spoken words, "All of you come at once, I will take you all on," effortlessly turned their embarrassment into nothing and instead highlighted his overwhelming audacity.
"Alright, you really have the guts, daring to fight the three of us on your own," Tang Ze said with a cold smirk, then looked at Tang Hao and Tang Lu, saying, "Gentlemen, since he’s put it that way, we descendants of ancient lands can’t disappoint him, can we?"
"Hmph, he’s asking for death, and it’s not our fault!" Tang Hao said icily. Ye Qiu was so arrogant, declaring that they should attack him all at once; as disciples of ancient heritage, they were being disrespected by someone from the martial world. The reason they hadn’t erupted on the spot was that they were restraining their anger, planning to unleash it and retrieve their pride from Ye Qiu during the fight.
"Ignorant people of the martial world, thinking themselves talented, but in our eyes, nothing more than clowns," said Tang Lu with equally icy words, revealing an inner volcano of suppressed fury.
Tang Ze and his two companions stepped forward, standing before Ye Qiu, each looking at him coldly. This guy was even more arrogant than they had imagined, showing no reverence for the ancient lands.
The confrontation was about to ignite, and all the surrounding Tang clan disciples were watching with bated breath.
"Hold on!"
Just as Tang Ze and the others were about to make their move, Ye Qiu suddenly interrupted, turning to Clan Leader Tang Heshan and the other elders, he said, "Clan Leader, before we begin, I have a question I’d like to ask, may I?"
Tang Ze and the others, already brimming with aggressive momentum, were annoyed by Ye Qiu’s sudden interruption, and Tang Ze remarked lightly, "This guy really is full of it. Is he about to surrender?"
"I reckon that’s the case," agreed Tang Hao.
"I think that even if he wants to surrender, we shouldn’t let him off," Tang Lu added.
Tang Heshan said, "You may, what’s the question, just ask."
Ye Qiu stood in the center of the arena, and the momentum that Tang Ze and his two companions had built up dissipated; now left hanging, the three of them, despite their inner resentment towards Ye Qiu for meddling, also wanted to hear what he was about to say.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Ye Qiu scratched his temple, a hint of embarrassment on his face, which made the onlookers increasingly curious about what he wanted to say.
"Clan Leader, I just want to ask, if I ’accidentally’ injure them, there’s no problem, right?"
As soon as Ye Qiu said this, the place fell into another bout of silence so profound you could hear a pin drop.
"’Accidentally’ injure Tang Ze and his two companions..."
No matter how you hear it, it reeks of a thick show-off attitude.
Arrogant, too arrogant.
Even Tang Heshan, who had seen much of the world, was choked up by Ye Qiu’s remark; how could Ye Qiu be so unabashed and unreserved? Even if you are of legendary realm, there’s no need to be so high-profile. Such words would only anger Tang Ze and his companions further without any benefit.
"Does this kid have a problem with his brain?" Tang Heshan glanced at Tang Surou, somewhat regretting the decision to arrange this contention for the spot for Ye Qiu.
Tang Surou was equally baffled by Ye Qiu’s behavior today.
Ye Qiu’s performance today was drastically different from usual. When she had interacted with Ye Qiu before, he wasn’t this irritating, especially not this brazen. She felt the urge to hit someone, and not just Tang Ze and his companions, but him as well.
"This guy must be doing this on purpose!" Tang Surou thought to herself.
"In the heat of battle, blows are not always seen; you may fight freely, and if there happens to be a risk to life, someone will intervene in time. You may rest assured," Tang Heshan replied.
Ye Qiu responded with an "oh" and slowly turned around, murmuring, "That’s good then. If I really injure them and have to compensate their medical expenses or something, I can’t afford it."
Ye Qiu’s mumbling could have just been mumbling, but it was loud enough for many to hear. When it reached the ears of Tang Ze and his companions, their teeth were gritted in rage, expressions priceless.
Ye Qiu was outrageously brazen wave after wave today, stealing the spotlight thoroughly.
At the scene, probably not only did Tang Ze and his two companions itch with hatred, but others also felt an impulse to strike him.
Ye Qiu could clearly see the atmosphere around him, but this was exactly what he wanted. Tang Ze and the others had just said they wanted to give him a harsh lesson, and he wanted them to taste what it felt like to be ignored.
Give them a taste of their own medicine.
From the dark expressions on the faces of Tang Ze, Tang Hao, and Tang Lu, it wasn’t hard to see that he had succeeded; these three were furious with him.
Ye Qiu stood seriously in front of the three, facing the wind.
The fists of Tang Ze and his companions crackled, on the verge of erupting in fury.
"Hold on a second, let me warm up a bit before we fight; it won’t be too late then..." Ye Qiu said to the three of them.
Unfortunately, this time Tang Ze and his companions didn’t give him the chance to continue acting tough, replying coldly, "We’ll warm up for you, you annoying bastard."
Ye Qiu’s mouth curved into a smirk as he immediately stepped forward, "Calling someone annoying is usually something girls say. Hearing those words from a big guy like you makes my skin crawl!"
Lines of frustration appeared on Tang Ze’s forehead; he no longer wanted to engage in a war of words with Ye Qiu and shouted angrily, "You’re asking for it!"
"I’m not looking for ’it,’ I’m only looking for you..."
