Chapter 601: 0602 Trap! (First Update)

"Alone?"

Ye Qiu turned his head, his eyes landing on a woman clad in a red cheongsam, a cigarette pinched between her fingers.

Seeing Ye Qiu staring at her, the woman exhaled a ring of smoke.

Ye Qiu turned his head away, and the woman, seeing that Ye Qiu ignored her, huffed and left, swaying her body.

Ye Qiu faced the sea breeze, smiled, and said, "Maybe I’m overthinking!"

A beautiful woman approached him proactively, and he coldly rejected her, Ye Qiu somewhat blamed himself for being overly cautious.

By then, the ship had already left the waters of Japan and was moving slowly.

Ye Qiu had been secretly recuperating in Japan for a few days before he quietly boarded the ship bound for Huaxia, not expecting that merely standing at the bow would attract a beautiful woman.

Pure Huaxia language, and a distinctively Huaxia cheongsam, she should have no connection with the Japanese martial artists.

Unfortunately, he missed the opportunity.

Of course, Ye Qiu had no regrets about it.

After enjoying a cool sea breeze, Ye Qiu returned to his cabin to continue healing his internal injuries, which had been recovering well over the past few days and were gradually improving.

Spending the afternoon on the ship, it would reach Huaxia tomorrow, Ye Qiu felt deeply about this trip to Japan.

The face of Yoshiwara Yoshi seeking death appeared before him; he had not troubled the Yoshiwara family.

Sato Aiko, in her eagerness, risked her own safety to die with him.

Ye Qiu did not seek to annihilate Sato Tsuru, the son of Sato Aiko.

The Sato family had already paid the price, and having turned Sato Tsuru into such a state, beyond medical help, to persist further would be too considerate.

The series of fierce battles brought much insight to Ye Qiu, passing many thoughts through his mind; feeling restless and stuffy, he stepped out of his cabin.

The bow was calm, windless and waveless, making for a serene night, with the moonlight far in the sky. Standing at the bow, it felt like he was right under the moon.

The view was beautiful, and so was the figure standing before him.

Ye Qiu noticed it was still the woman from the afternoon who had approached him, now alone at the bow, but this time without a cigarette and instead holding a glass of red wine.

She did not notice Ye Qiu standing behind her, quietly gazing at the sea view before her.

Ye Qiu walked slowly over, saying nothing and quietly standing beside her, looking toward the blurry distance.

The two stood at the bow, neither breaking the silence until the woman could no longer hold back and was the first to speak.

"You’re really interesting, can’t you speak a word? With a beautiful woman like me beside you for nearly an hour, you remain indifferent; do I really lack charm?" the woman began to reproach Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu laughed and said, "Certainly, you have charm. How does the old saying go? Yes, ’Remaining unstained by the mud and washed clean by the stream without being seductive.’"

The woman suddenly chuckled, covering her mouth and said, "Are you saying I should be appreciated from a distance but not played with up close?"

"Unfortunately, I’m not a lotus!" the woman abruptly changed her tone, her expression turning a bit sad.

"Did you go to Japan to clear your mind?" Ye Qiu asked.

"Yes, I just broke up, ended a relationship, wanted to travel the world," the woman replied.

"No wonder there’s a trace of sadness in your eyes, sometimes changing your perspective makes things a lot better," Ye Qiu slowly said.

"Maybe you’re right, can we go to my room to talk? It’s a bit chilly here," the woman said, wrapping her arms around her shoulders.

Ye Qiu was slightly startled, then nodded, smiling, "Of course, it would be an honor."

"Let’s go then." Seeing Ye Qiu agree, the woman linked her arm through Ye Qiu’s and walked towards the downstairs room.

The woman’s perfume was strong, and Ye Qiu could smell it without much effort.

The walk from the bow to the woman’s room wasn’t long, just a minute or two.

Upon entering the woman’s dimly lit room and closing the door, she instantly pushed Ye Qiu onto the bed.

"Don’t you want to do something to me?"

"How could I not!"

"Then why don’t you take the initiative?"

Ye Qiu smiled faintly and said, "But I’m afraid that if I take the initiative... you might... suddenly kill me!" His tone shifted slightly at the end, instantly breaking the room’s atmosphere.

"What do you mean, kill you? What are you talking about?" the woman suddenly asked, stunned.

Ye Qiu chuckled, "How long do you plan to keep up this act? Isn’t your goal to kill me?"

"Unfortunately, I saw through you immediately, and besides, I’m not interested in you."

"You..." Stung by Ye Qiu’s words, the woman acted immediately. A dagger suddenly appeared in her hand, and she slashed at him, but Ye Qiu dodged and grabbed her wrist.

"Any last words? I can give you a few seconds."

"When did you spot the flaw?" the woman asked.

"I didn’t notice anything. You covered everything so well, even guessing that I would go back to the bow and deliberately waiting there for me."

"It was because everything you did was too perfect that I harbored a slight suspicion. Just now, I deliberately said that to test you, and never thought you’d choose to expose yourself like that. I’m not to blame!" Ye Qiu said calmly.

If Ye Qiu hadn’t been cautious and always felt that this woman was not simple, he might really have been successfully attacked.

"Humph, if that’s the case, then go to hell!" After hearing Ye Qiu’s explanation, realizing it was a trick, the woman thought furiously.

Frantic, the woman tried to break free, her dagger pressing forward, but Ye Qiu wouldn’t give her a chance and forcefully pushed her away, sending her flying.

The woman crashed into the window, looking disheveled, a far cry from her previously seductive appearance.

"Ye Qiu, don’t think you can make it back to China alive!" the woman yelled as she slammed into the window and burst out.

"Trying to leave?" Ye Qiu pretended to chase after her. He hadn’t killed her instantly previously because he wanted to know who had sent her. Ye Qiu immediately chased after her.

Tough talk followed by a swift exit, as if it were that easy.

Although Ding Ning was nursing some hidden injuries, he was more than capable of dealing with such a woman.

On one side of the ship, he saw no sign of the woman but suddenly heard a buzzing sound and saw a small yacht speeding away about fifty meters.

The woman was looking at him coldly, holding a black weapon in her hand, her gaze mocking.

Suddenly, Ye Qiu felt as if a spine-chilling feeling gripped him. His gaze met the woman’s, and upon seeing the weapon in her hands, his expression froze. He immediately leaped into the sea. Just then, there was a loud explosion, and the ship Ye Qiu had been on turned into a sea of fire, its body blasted apart.

So ruthless, to blow up a whole ship just to deal with him?

As if Ye Qiu would let the woman escape after she’d put him in such a dire situation. He shot out a surge of black flame, stepped on the sea as if walking on flat ground, and gave chase.

The woman saw Ye Qiu rapidly chasing on the sea surface and, terrified, sped up, but even her increased speed couldn’t evade an attack from a legendary realm. The black flame pierced her shoulder. With a cry, she fell into the sea.

When Ye Qiu stood on the small yacht, the woman was already dead, not from drowning, but because she had killed herself the moment she hit the water.

Her decisiveness shocked Ye Qiu.

The destroyed ship sank into the sea. Ye Qiu’s gaze flickered. Which power in Japan was so desperate to kill him that they were willing to murder everyone on board?

Unfortunately, the woman was dead, leaving no answers to be found.

The light from the distant explosion still flickered as Ye Qiu clenched his fist, his gaze icy cold.
