Chapter 488: 0489 Terrifying! (Fifth Update)
Fang Sijie couldn’t bear to watch the scene unfold and suddenly covered his eyes.
The young gang leader was secretly pleased, as his knife was bound to chop off a piece of Ye Qiu’s flesh. However, when everyone’s knives came crashing down, they abruptly realized they had struck nothing.
When had he disappeared?
The young gang leader was terrified. Song Jie and Jiang Hao, who were watching from a distance, were also bewildered. Where was Ye Qiu?
Just then, Luo Ming’s eyes narrowed as he suddenly noticed that Ye Qiu had appeared high in the air from beneath their line of sight at some unknown moment.
"He’s over there!" Luo Ming’s words caused Song Jie and Jiang Hao to startle. Following his gaze, they saw Ye Qiu sidestepping mid-air with astonishing agility, instantly moving beyond the reach of the descending blades that had yet to fall.
"How can he jump so high!"
Not to mention Song Jie had never seen such a thing, he had never even heard of it. Can a normal person jump tens of meters high at once?
This kind of jumping ability completely outclassed any professional high jumper from any country by several lengths.
The three onlookers were flabbergasted. The young gang leader in the midst of battle had not yet spotted Ye Qiu and was searching around until a detached voice sounded beside him. Only then did he see Ye Qiu appear before him. But before he could chop down, his arm was pulled by Ye Qiu and, in a moment, went numb.
Ah!
A cry of agony burst from the young man’s mouth.
"Kill him!" the young leader roared, cradling his seemingly dislocated arm.
"Kill!"
Instantly over a hundred people moved into action. Ye Qiu regarded them calmly. Just as the sharp glints of the blades approached, his hands moved like a serpent, and his body slammed forward. Before the knife-wielding assailants could close in, Ye Qiu was upon them. With a swift touch, he shattered a man’s wrist, rendering him unable to hold his knife any longer.
One man fell, and others stumbled forward in his wake.
This strike by Ye Qiu was hardly enough to instill terror in all, for over a hundred people to face one man and still hesitate to strike was truly laughable.
Ye Qiu did not sit back idly. He surged forward, facing attacks from both sides, countering with a single move—a swift dual jab.
Smack, smack, smack...
Knives clattered to the ground one after another, as Ye Qiu’s speed was simply too fast for anyone to dodge his sporadic attacks.
As the blades failed to touch Ye Qiu and were disarmed one after another, many in the rear started to take note and switched to grasping their knives with both hands, but to no avail...
Ye Qiu’s finger strikes were as forceful as a thousand-pound boulder. Regardless of whether they used one hand or two, under his touch, all efforts dissipated into nothing.
Each person touched by him showed a pained expression, feeling as though an arm had been sliced off.
At that moment, the young gang leader grew much soberer. He shouted, "Drop your knives, beat him to death with your fists and feet."
After speaking, he led the charge, attacking Ye Qiu with his uninjured hand.
Ye Qiu, a grandmaster at the peak of the True Qi realm, faced the attack of an ordinary person. Even if he stood still, the young man could not harm him.
The gap between the two was as vast as heaven and earth.
Ye Qiu allowed the opponent’s fists to strike his body, as the youth sneered. His punches might not have been particularly heavy, but they were still powerful enough to knock someone down.
However, he soon realized his mistake, a terribly grave error, when his fist struck Ye Qiu’s body. It felt like hitting a steel plate. Far from injuring Ye Qiu, his own arm was instead numbed by the shock, losing sensation instantly.
In the youth’s horrified gaze, Ye Qiu smiled slightly without attacking him. Instead, he swept backward, and anyone who had thrown a punch felt as if a powerful force had materialized out of thin air, sweeping them all up. In an instant, those attacking flew backward, crashing to the ground as they cried out in pain.
Ye Qiu, with one hand grabbing the youth’s leader, slowly walked towards the remaining people.
Ye Qiu’s fierce strike had truly shocked everyone. It was like a move from a movie, where a gentle wave of a hand sent people uncontrollably flying, crashing to the ground.
"I said these people were not enough for me to fight, do you believe it now?" Ye Qiu spoke indifferently. Seeing Ye Qiu’s casual demeanor and how his clothes didn’t even have a single wrinkle, the young leader started to sweat profusely. The Ye Qiu before him seemed a hundred times more valiant than any historical figure he knew, fearless amidst a hundred men, calm and cool. What kind of terrifying existence was this!
In the young leader’s eyes, the image of Ye Qiu magnified immensely, making him feel like Ye Qiu was an insurmountable mountain.
"Do you still want to fight?" Ye Qiu scanned the remaining fifty or so people, some of whom still held knives, while others stood with bare fists, showing the fear one might feel upon seeing jackals or tigers.
"We give up." The young leader bowed his head. Even with the strength of hundreds, they had still lost to one man, a fact so unbelievable it wouldn’t be accepted if told. Yet, it had indeed happened, with the leader witnessing firsthand what it was like to face an enemy of a hundred, a slayer of a thousand, and a decapitator amidst ten thousand soldiers.
This type of martial arts master, typically only found in novels or movies, was right before his eyes.
At that moment, where could the young leader dare to challenge Ye Qiu? He immediately begged for mercy.
"Where is Song Jie?" After subduing the youth, Ye Qiu went straight to the point. He hadn’t killed the youth, hoping to find out Song Jie’s whereabouts from him.
"Master, Song Jie made me attack you. He’s watching us from the shadows. I don’t know exactly where he is, but he should be nearby," the young leader said, his face sad.
Nearby?
Ye Qiu displayed a satisfied smile.
"Call him and tell him I’m coming to settle the score!" Ye Qiu ordered.
The young leader shivered, hurriedly pulled out Song Jie’s contact information, and relayed Ye Qiu’s message to Song Jie.
And the moment Song Jie ended the call, he felt as though a pair of eyes was watching him. It was fleeting, but he was sure he wasn’t mistaken.
Had Ye Qiu discovered him?
Song Jie was shocked. Over a hundred people, yet they couldn’t handle Ye Qiu. He was still immersed in his shock when the phone rang, snapping him back to reality.
Damn, he’s coming!
A trace of panic flitted through Song Jie’s mind, while Jiang Hao and Luo Ming quickly suggested, "This man is too terrible, not just any bodyguard. Let’s leave quickly, or it will be dangerous if he catches up."
Song Jie agreed and the three immediately turned and descended from the isolated building. Just as they reached the cars and were about to start the engines, a figure appeared in the spotlight, slowly stopping in front of the three cars.
"Ye Qiu... he’s here..." Jiang Hao raised his hand in fear, pointing at Ye Qiu, murmuring.
"It’s over!" Luo Ming’s face darkened.
Song Jie clenched his teeth, staring intently at the man who should have been killed by a knife, unwilling to believe that he could be standing unharmed before them.
A fear that seemed to crackle like rifts from the depths of their hearts began to spread wildly...
