Chapter 466: 0467, the policewoman is seen again!

Lin Qiao’er, who I hadn’t seen for several days, seemed even more stunning than before.

Her figure was accentuated by the deep blue police uniform, which, in addition to lending her an air of authority, added a few extra touches of alluring charm in Ye Qiu’s eyes.

Ye Qiu’s gaze brazenly swept over her impressive peaks, which seemed as if they would burst forth from their confinement of a thin white blouse.

They’d gotten bigger!

Ye Qiu mumbled under his breath, yet his comment, unsurprisingly, reached Lin Qiao’er’s ears from just ten meters away.

"Shameless," Lin Qiao’er cursed inwardly. This Ye Qiu, every time she saw him, he had that lecherous look, never serious. If it weren’t for the higher-ups’ arrangement, she wouldn’t bother seeking out this jerk.

"Hey, if you keep staring at me like that, be careful, or I’ll arrest you for indecency," Lin Qiao’er couldn’t stand Ye Qiu’s leering anymore. His unrestrained manner was no different from those hoodlums on the street, and especially his simultaneous admiration and commentary were shameless to the extreme.

Ye Qiu certainly wasn’t going to stop admiring the beautiful view in front of him, simply because of Lin Qiao’er’s remarks. He chuckled, "Officer Lin, you’re wronging me. I was just taking a glance. If looking is a crime, then there are so many offenders on the streets that even Officer Lin couldn’t arrest them all."

Ye Qiu started to act stubbornly and slyly. Lin Qiao’er felt her teeth itch with irritation but couldn’t blow up at him. If murder weren’t a crime, she would have shot this shameless man right there.

"Ye Qiu, I’m here on official business," Lin Qiao’er tried to calm the fire in her chest, softening her tone as much as she could and squeezing out a faint smile.

Seeing that Lin Qiao’er managed not to explode, Ye Qiu stopped his unrestrained ogling appropriately. The reason he let his gaze wander was purely to tease Lin Qiao’er. If he had wanted a clear view of what lay beneath that layer of clothing, he could have just used his x-ray vision and seen it all. But Ye Qiu didn’t do that; he wasn’t shameless to that filthy extent. A symbolic tease was all, anything more would have been too much, and that wasn’t Ye Qiu’s principle of conduct.

Speaking of Officer Lin Qiao’er, every time he saw her she had this fiery temper. Because of that, Ye Qiu had suffered a slap, been thrown out of a car, and if it wasn’t for the last time when he had vindictively reclaimed some interest and had the upper hand, almost kissing Lin Qiao’er, this encounter would likely feature the same tone and expression from her.

It had to be said, after the somewhat ambiguous and awkward scene last time, Lin Qiao’er never mentioned that encounter. However, in the subsequent missions, she ferociously dealt with many criminal thugs, venting the frustration she felt from Ye Qiu.

"I was wondering why Officer Lin would show up here. Turns out you came specially for me," Ye Qiu said arrogantly, ruffling his hair as Lin Qiao’er snorted at his act of charm. Ye Qiu continued, "What’s the important matter Officer Lin has with me?"

"If it’s to confess to me, forget it. I, Ye Qiu, may be a handsome guy, but I’m not interested in romance right now. Please, Officer Lin, you should go back," Ye Qiu finished indifferently, with a very light expression on his face.

Lin Qiao’er clenched her fists, shoulders trembling with rage. This guy was too shameless, so shameless that she felt an impulse to pound on him.

Confess to him?

Lin Qiao’er found it as laughable as the biggest joke she had ever heard. This Ye Qiu not only had a lecherous personality but was also egotistical and narcissistic. As for her, Lin Qiao’er, although not a beauty that could cause fish to sink and wild geese to fall, she had plenty of guys chasing after her in her daily life.

After being addressed by Ye Qiu with such shameless words, it was as if he was a prize, and she, Lin Qiao’er, seemed desperate with no one to pursue her.

Confess to your sister!

Lin Qiao’er’s mind was swamped with a herd of alpacas, but reason told her not to get angry with this despicable man in front of her. She was here for business.

With that thought, Lin Qiao’er finally suppressed her anger, took a deep breath, and said, "Ye Qiu, on behalf of Zhongshan city’s police department, I’m here to discuss official business with you seriously. Please stop with the nonsensical chatter."

She retorted mildly, which fell on Ye Qiu without much effect as he expressed his interest, "Oh? I’m quite interested to hear what ’official business’ Officer Lin has to discuss with me?"

Lin Qiao’er cleared her throat and spoke earnestly, "Considering the need to strengthen the safety of Zhongshan city’s citizens and to ensure social harmony and stability, Zhongshan city’s police department has decided to intensify the training of all active and new officers to increase their combat and arrest skills."

"And what does that have to do with me?" Ye Qiu asked languidly.

Lin Qiao’er knew Ye Qiu wouldn’t get it, so she continued, "Regarding the training of new and senior officers, the police department has decided that you will conduct the training. That’s why I came to notify you."

"You mean to tell me to go train your officers?" Ye Qiu finally understood—Lin Qiao’er had sought him out to help with training.

"What’s that got to do with me? I’m not part of your police force. There’s no need for me to train you, right?"

"Moreover, Officer Lin, I, Ye Qiu, am just an ordinary person, not some kind of special forces member. How would a regular guy like me be qualified to train you?"

Ye Qiu’s first instinct was to refuse. He didn’t have time to train cops; that task was better left to someone else.

"Ye Qiu, quit playing dumb. I’ve seen your skills, and I know you’re a martial arts expert. I recommended you to the chief as an instructor, and he agreed. Don’t you want to do something meaningful for the country?" Lin Qiao’er said indignantly. For anyone else, this would be an honor, so why did it seem like Ye Qiu was avoiding it like a mouse evades a cat, outright rejecting the offer?

"Officer Lin, I love this country very much, but this has nothing to do with patriotism. First, I am not one of your systemic people, and second, whether to be an instructor also depends on personal willingness. As I’ve said, I’m very busy. I don’t have time to train anyone," Ye Qiu said, waving his hand dismissively with an air of annoyance.

Seeing Ye Qiu’s well-reasoned rejection, Lin Qiao’er suddenly couldn’t find the right words to continue her argument.

How could this guy be so stubborn? After all, she had lowered her stance to ask him, and yet he was giving no face at all.

Lin Qiao’er was infuriated inside, regretting that she had even bothered asking, recommending Ye Qiu as an instructor—she regretted it a thousand times over. Why did she even bring up Ye Qiu’s name in front of the chief? Most astonishingly, the chief had agreed and sent her to request Ye Qiu.

Now, with Ye Qiu’s refusal, Lin Qiao’er had no way to report back.

Ye Qiu, cool and composed, watched as Lin Qiao’er’s eyes betrayed her desperation, and the corners of his mouth rose into a grin once more.

Seizing the opportunity in Lin Qiao’er’s plea for help, Ye Qiu found the situation amusing. He wanted to see how else Lin Qiao’er would persuade him to agree.

"Ye Qiu, if you agree, the department will confer an award certificate for you," Lin Qiao’er offered the reward in hopes of tempting Ye Qiu.

"An award certificate? Not interested," Ye Qiu shook his head.

"If you don’t like an award certificate, we could also give you a reward of ten thousand yuan," Lin Qiao’er changed the offering.

"Ten thousand yuan?" Ye Qiu chuckled. He wasn’t short of money now; there were still several hundred million in his account.

Ye Qiu’s repeated refusals finally provoked Lin Qiao’er to erupt.

"What exactly do you want, Ye Qiu? If you think the money’s too little, I’ll personally add another ten thousand for you," Lin Qiao’er glared at Ye Qiu, yelling, clearly unable to contain her anger any longer after several restrained outbursts.

Ye Qiu, with rapt interest, watched Lin Qiao’er yell un-ladylike, and then spoke slowly, "Do you really wish for me to take up the instructor role?"

"Yes."

"Alright then, here’s my condition: if you agree to it, I will consent to be an instructor for a while," Ye Qiu said, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"What’s the condition? Just say it," Lin Qiao’er, seeing a glimmer of hope, was no longer afraid of Ye Qiu’s potential outrageous demands, bracing herself for a fleecing.

"Ahem, my condition is quite simple. It’s just... give me a kiss, and I’ll agree to your request," Ye Qiu declared.

"You shameless bastard!"

Lin Qiao’er, fuming with rage, instantly swung her fist, aiming a punch at Ye Qiu!
