Chapter 431: 0432 Chilled to the bone (Third Update)

No matter who this person in front of them was, daring to attack their companion made him an enemy. There was no time to think further as three assassins charged at Ye Qiu simultaneously.

Ye Qiu tossed the man in his hands, whose life or death was unknown, straight toward the three. Just as they were about to strike, they all dodged their companion, and Ye Qiu took this opportunity to vanish from their sight in a flash.

Where is he?

The three realized their enemy had disappeared and were momentarily stunned.

Suddenly, a strong sense of danger emanated from beneath the body of their unconscious companion.

Not good.

The three’s skin twitched as Ye Qiu’s figure burst out from beneath the assassin he had beaten beyond recognition, throwing punches left and right.

His fists moved like lightning, allowing no time for reaction, hitting them squarely, as groans of pain echoed, and the two successfully ambushed assassins felt sweetness in their throats.

Hit by Ye Qiu, their chests wounded, blood welled up instantly.

Master!

Seeing this, the middle assassin finally realized what was happening and prepared to counterattack Ye Qiu, who threw another hand at him.

A flash of silver light, and in an instant, it plunged into the assassin’s throat. His dagger, just about to be fired, dropped to the ground with a clatter, and he died instantly.

Silver needle through the throat.

Ye Qiu’s gaze was piercing, startling the two injured assassins whom he had punched. Realizing they had encountered a terrifying force, they were chilled to the bone.

This was no ordinary person, but a devilish killer whose movements were even more ruthless than theirs.

Just one punch and one needle, and in an instant, he had subdued the three assassins, one dead and two injured.

At this moment, several employees who were still in the company and had not yet left walked into the hall and, upon seeing this scene, screamed in fright and fainted.

Ye Qiu glanced back, then walked up to the two assassins who dared not move and said calmly, "Who sent you?"

The two exchanged looks, opting for silence. But quickly, they realized how grave a mistake their silence was, for in an instant, Ye Qiu’s foot had landed on their legs, causing a snapping sound as their limbs broke.

Ye Qiu rendered the legs of the two men useless, his eyes devoid of any mercy.

"The fourth one!"

Ye Qiu’s gaze shot toward the entrance of the Longjia Building, the essence he was locking onto was not just the four assassins, there were several who hadn’t come in yet.

Ye Qiu wasn’t in a hurry. He didn’t go outside, but waited quietly, biding his time.

Five minutes passed, and several shadows at the entrance of the Longjia Building, now more concealed with the fall of night, resembled bats hidden in the dark. Even with the lights, it would be hard to spot them.

After a long wait, the shadows exchanged glances, feeling that the ones who had gone in earlier were too slow, merely to capture a woman, yet four had entered, and there was still no sound.

Finally, with no other option, the five decided to enter the Longjia Building.

As they approached, one person quickly retreated, signaling the other four to proceed.

He chose to stay outside, preparing for the worst since they all sensed an eerie silence inside the building. As assassins sensitive to the scent of blood, they detected a faint blood smell in the air, not ruling out the possibility that the earlier group had killed someone.

The four shadows entered one after another, while one person stood in a dark corner outside, watching the scene unfold.

Ye Qiu’s lips curled up as he sat in the lobby’s sofa, having waited quite a while. He thought to himself with a smile, "Finally couldn’t resist, could you?"

He slowly rose to his feet; the hall, devoid of much light, was dim, and the four assassins who had infiltrated first saw their colleagues lying on the ground, all of whom were lifeless.

The gaze of the four assassins emitted a serious demeanor as they checked the injuries of their mates; only one was dead while the other three were still breathing.

Exchanging glances, they realized that there was a master within the building; yet despite this, the four did not choose to retreat. Having accepted the task, they were bound to complete it, especially confident that together, even someone highly skilled would not necessarily be able to contend with them.

Ye Qiu moved as silently as a cat, his steps soft as if cotton were landing without a sound, so much so that even approaching within ten meters of the four, they still hadn’t noticed him.

"You needn’t look further, it was I who acted," Ye Qiu’s voice, as if drifting from the skies, struck the four like thunder, causing them to leap backward and their hair to stand on end.

There was danger, but the voice didn’t seem close; they scanned the surroundings, seeing no one. Suddenly, their expressions dramatically changed as a murderous intent swept down from above.

In an instant, the four, perfectly in sync, shot eight knives upward.

To avoid an all-out attack from the master above, the four immediately spread out, their nerves taut as they watched for the murderous intent to descend.

Whoosh!

A figure landed; instead of attacking the four, he merely looked over quietly.

"Who sent you here?" Ye Qiu asked again.

The four tacitly chose not to answer, and the next second, they attacked, each employing their lethal techniques towards Ye Qiu.

Ye Qiu had battled even Triple-S rank beast-men and didn’t take the four seriously at all. These guys, in his view, didn’t even compare to half of Adam’s capability. Had it not been for his concern for Shen Mengchen’s safety and a desire to find out who was behind this, he wouldn’t have even bothered fighting these four.

Ye Qiu’s attacks exceeded the four’s imaginations. In their eyes, he was like a night demon in the dark, their attack from four angles being a relentless siege that ordinarily, no one could escape unscathed.

Yet the man before them simply didn’t dodge. Instead, with his hands, he traced patterns in the darkness, effortlessly dispelling all of their attacks.

By then, the four realized that this fellow was beyond any challenge they could present.

"The King of Assassins!"

All four showed terror, whether it was Ye Qiu’s attacks or his concealment; both reminded them of one term, the King of Assassins.

The methods displayed by Ye Qiu were clean, ruthless, and efficient; no wonder the injuries of their previously-checked mates were so severe.

Because, they were facing the King of Assassins, indeed!

"Change of plan, retreat!"

Encountering the King of Assassins, if they still stubbornly fought him, it would be purely courting death. All four deeply regretted taking on this task, not surprising since the reward offered was substantial, to make them foe the King of Assassins.

Suddenly, all four had only one thought in their minds, escape!

Seeing the four about to dash towards the door and melt into the night to escape, Ye Qiu casually released four streams of True Qi towards their ankles.

Pop, pop, pop, pop!

Four sounds in succession as Ye Qiu’s True Qi struck directly at their ankles, causing them all to stagger almost into each other.

"Come back," Ye Qiu commanded, his hand spread wide as the True Qi took form, turning into a rope that wrapped around the four’s legs and yanked them back.

Among them, there was a ruthless one who, upon seeing himself being pulled back, hardened his gaze, and in one swift motion, slashed at his own foot, splattering blood, self-maiming one foot, and using the opportunity to continue his escape.

Ye Qiu was unconcerned, allowing him to vanish into the darkness. Meanwhile, his fingers whisked swiftly, directly touching the foreheads of the remaining three, instantly knocking them out.

"A cripple, one who dared not even enter the door, now trying to escape? Not so easy," Ye Qiu said lightly with a smile, transforming into a dark shadow as he swiftly pursued the one who fled.
