Chapter 424: 0425 Ten Owl Rewards
"You kid seems to be in the dark, but after each martial arts competition concludes and the Ten Owls are decided, they get the chance to view the Wu wall!"
The old lecher explained leisurely, appearing quite moved by the reward himself.
What is this Wu wall?
Ye Qiu was utterly confused, not understanding the term at all. Could it possibly be some grand opportunity?
Mei Huiling pinched the old lecher’s waist, annoyed by his smug look, and explained to Ye Qiu with a smile, "The Wu wall is a wall engraved with martial arts forms, covered in various technique patterns. Any martial artist who has viewed the Wu wall would wish to immerse themselves in its study for a lifetime. One could say it’s the sanctuary for martial artists, and only the chosen Ten Owls of each session are qualified to behold it."
Hearing Mei Huiling say this, Ye Qiu became very interested. It seemed that the Wu wall was an incredible opportunity indeed, and if he hadn’t returned early, he would’ve missed out.
At that moment, Mei Huiling sighed somewhat, "It’s a pity that none from our Dragon Group have ever earned the title of Ten Owls; otherwise, we would know so much more about the Wu wall."
"Ah, the Wu wall has produced many great masters," Mei Huiling said, her gaze becoming distant. She slowly shifted her attention back to Ye Qiu, her eyes full of relief: "Fortunately, this time, you’ve earned a spot, and you’ll get the chance to view the Wu wall."
The old lecher nodded, signaling to Ye Qiu to take the matter of the Wu wall seriously. He even mentioned a few renowned figures in the martial world who had been recipients of the Ten Owls title, further discussing their understanding of the martial arts on the wall. After listening, Ye Qiu was greatly shaken; this was an opportunity not to be missed, especially since it rightfully belonged to him.
After bothering the old lecher and Mei Huiling for a while, Ye Qiu headed straight to the gravity training room.
Now he wanted to see just how far his limit had reached. Not long after Ye Qiu entered the gravity training room, many Dragon Group members arrived to witness his prowess. During Ye Qiu’s absence, the Dragon Group had gained quite a few new members, all of whom were very curious about Ye Qiu. After all, they had heard his name so often within the group, but most of them had never seen the man behind it.
"Captain, I heard that you, just like Master Ye, have participated in the martial arts competition. Do you understand his strength? Is he really as powerful as the legends say?" a new member asked the man beside him.
Water seemed to drip from the man’s face; he was none other than Si Ma’ao.
Si Ma’ao had no desire to come here, especially not to such a scene where the focus was not on him, but on Ye Qiu. His heart couldn’t help but feel raw bitterness.
But he couldn’t resist the enthusiasm of a few of his new subordinates, who insisted on dragging him here. As a veteran of the Dragon Group, he had the duty to lead his team well and to blend in with these individuals.
However, it seemed the new members were all quite interested in Ye Qiu, their eyes filled with excitement, like they were seeing an idol, leaving Si Ma’ao to respond with nothing but snorts and silence.
Upon hearing his subordinate’s question, Sima Ao snorted, "I’ve never fought against him, so I don’t know how strong he really is."
"Oh." Si Ma’ao’s answer left several Dragon Group members slightly disappointed; they had thought that their captain was quite familiar with Ye Qiu’s remarkable strength.
"Master Ye is ranked tenth among the Ten Owls. Although you didn’t make it among the Owls, captain, you must be close to Master Ye’s level, right?" a female member commented.
Under the gaze of the female member, Si Ma’ao nodded faintly, "That’s right," he said, and then fell silent, not saying another word, putting on an inscrutable front. The female member’s eyes sparkled with admiration for Si Ma’ao, who indeed enjoyed the adoration.
"Heh, Si Ma’ao, since when was your strength anywhere close to Ye Qiu’s? You seem to hold yourself in high regard," interjected the voice of Li Xiaohu at that moment.
Approaching were three people: Mu Zhige, Lin Wurou, and Li Xiaohu.
Li Xiaohu had long been irked by Si Ma’ao’s arrogance and disdainful attitude. Now that he stumbled upon the latter comparing himself with Ye Qiu, Li Xiaohu couldn’t help but speak up and reveal the truth.
"You want to challenge me, is that it?" confronted by the blunt statement, Si Ma’ao could no longer continue to explain and instead angrily retorted.
"Humph, what’s the point of competing with me? You claim to be on par with Ye Qiu, don’t you? Now that he’s back, why don’t you prove it and settle the score with him?" Li Xiaohu didn’t mince his words, which caused Si Ma’ao’s face to turn ever purpler.
"Let’s just wait and see!" Si Ma’ao flung his sleeve, having lost face to stay any longer. In front of everyone, he strode away, leaving several stationary Dragon Group members calling out ’Captain Si Ma’ao’ until they finally had no choice but to follow him.
"Xiaohu, why did you have to provoke him?" Lin Wurou said.
"I just can’t stand his arrogant attitude all the time. Someone who couldn’t even win the initial Ten Owls Competition dares to compare himself with Ye Qiu; it’s laughable. He’s only fooling the newbies who don’t know any better," Li Xiaohu said with contempt.
In the end, Mu Zhige smiled and brought the topic to a close. The three of them arrived at the entrance to the gravity training room, where a crowd had already gathered, staring at the pressure index above.
"Wow, it’s a record-breaker! I remember the highest pressure index record within the Dragon Group was 30,000 times gravity, right?"
"It has now surpassed 30,000 times, hitting 50,000. My god, is this even possible for a human to achieve?"
"Heh, have you forgotten that the 30,000 times gravity record was set by Master Ye himself? Now he’s just breaking his own past limits," someone remarked with a chuckle.
Those who heard this were deeply shocked; it was a case of setting a record and then breaking it oneself.
Ye Qiu’s image had just grown several sizes taller in the minds of the new Dragon Group members.
The barrier of 50,000 times had been breached!
Everybody’s breathing slowed down with the index. A pressure of 50,000 times gravity signified the equivalent of lifting two cars with one’s own strength; even a bull could easily be grabbed and thrown away!
Inside the gravity training room, Ye Qiu’s face was somber. Having reached the late peak stage of True Qi, although the amount of True Qi hadn’t increased much, his strength had doubled, easily breaking through 30,000 times to reach 50,000 times gravity. It wasn’t really a surprise.
"This is probably my limit for now," Ye Qiu said to himself. Despite those words, his eyes shone with a different kind of light.
"If I use the power of the black gas and turn myself black, where would my limits be..." At that moment, even Ye Qiu couldn’t help but want to know the outcome.
Now, after turning black, Ye Qiu retained his consciousness and wouldn’t attack recklessly. Moreover, this was a sealed space; there was no need for Ye Qiu to worry about accidents occurring.
If that was the case, then why not give it a try!
Immediately after, the Dragon Group members guarding the door all showed a look of familiarity, completely shocked by the frenzied increase of the index.
From 50,000 to 60,000, it reached in an instant; what was going on, and this was just the beginning.
60,000 times!
70,000 times!
80,000 times!
...
By the time it had reached 150,000 times, everyone was almost petrified, and the whole place fell silent.
Even Mu Zhige, Lin Wurou, and Li Xiaohu had their eyes wide open, displaying expressions of incredulous terror!
Is this still human?
