Chapter 419 - 0420 Ye Wudi
Chapter 419: 0420 Ye Wudi
Ye Qiu’s attack was deceptively casual, a punch without apparent momentum but consolidated with most of his strength.
This punch had reached the peak of both power and intent, devoid of any flourishes. It was a casual move by Ye Qiu, yet it unleashed the most formidable force.
After the punch, Edward was embedded into the floor, with the impact point as the center, damage radiated outward. Blood vessels burst and organs shattered by the force of the punch, effectively, Ye Qiu had killed Edward with a single blow.
The cruise ship rocked, and Ye Qiu noticed security personnel quickly approaching from inside the ship. He grabbed Edward and, to Mu Zhige’s astonishment, swung the body like a shot put and threw it into the sea, feeding the fish.
Ye Qiu would not let Edward go easily for daring to chase down Mu Zhige and Mu Wanqing in an attempt to find him.
Ironically, Edward, who ranked third on the danger list, ended up feeding the fish after his death, a satirical end to his previous arrogance.
Mu Zhige was just about to thank Ye Qiu, recovering from his shock, when Ye Qiu flicked his hand, "Let’s leave this place first."
Mu Zhige followed Ye Qiu’s gaze and sensed the approaching presence of security personnel. He nodded, and both of them vanished on the spot. By the time the security team and some curious passengers arrived at the scene of the battle, everyone was staring fixedly at the ground.
There was an imprint of a human figure, and everyone was puzzled. Could this be the reason for the shaking they felt just now?
Could it be someone had fallen from the sky, hitting the spot and leaving a mark? But that’s a steel plate, a full centimeter thick. Could it have been struck by a meteorite? Yet there was no iron block like a meteorite to be found—nothing but empty space, a baffling mystery.
The onlookers looked at one another, unable to figure it out, and no one could give a clear, rational explanation. The human-shaped depression became an unsolved enigma.
As the instigators of the event, Ye Qiu and Mu Zhige were seated in a corner of the ballroom, unnoticed for some time. Mu Zhige neither drank nor watched others dance their seductive moves. He stared at Ye Qiu, trying to discern something, but after a long while, apart from noticing that the eyes of the expert before him seemed familiar, he gleaned nothing else.
"In any case, I must thank you. If it weren’t for you, something I didn’t wish to see would’ve happened," Mu Zhige expressed his gratitude.
Had it not been for the disguised Ye Qiu, Mu Zhige would have had no chance against Edward. What might have happened was difficult to imagine.
"Besides, as a Chinese person, I couldn’t stand to see our own bullied by foreigners in a foreign land," Ye Qiu shook his head, indicating that Mu Zhige didn’t need to be too grateful. He had acted because he couldn’t stomach the other party’s behavior.
Ye Qiu made light of it, but Mu Zhige didn’t take it lightly. In his view, Ye Qiu was likely an extraordinary figure incognito in the martial arts world—youthful and unassuming, capable of effortlessly saving him. It was no mere coincidence but rather fate.
The more Mu Zhige sized up Ye Qiu, the more he appreciated the young man.
Mu Zhige thought it was time to find a commendable young man for his sister Wan Qing, who was still single.
Little did Ye Qiu know that at this moment, Mu Zhige was entertaining the idea of introducing his disguised self to his sister. If he knew, he would be both amused and exasperated.
"I still don’t know the name of this young brother. May I have the privilege to learn it?" Mu Zhige inquired.
"I..." Ye Qiu was taken aback. Even though his disguised appearance was unrecognizable to Mu Zhige, he hadn’t actually considered a name for his alter ego.
He casually said, "Ye Wudi!"
Uh...
Upon hearing this name, Mu Zhige froze for a moment, his expression somewhat strange. He shrugged his shoulders and laughed, "Hmm, that’s a good name."
"Brother Ye is so young, yet his strength is unfathomable. He must come from a prestigious sect, right?"
"Not really a prestigious sect. I have been practicing martial arts with my master on the mountain since I was young, living away from worldly affairs. This is my first time coming down the mountain to wander around," Ye Qiu explained.
Mu Zhige believed him. With Ye Qiu’s current strength, if he had been active in the martial world, he surely would have been famous by now and Mu Zhige would have known him. Yet, he had never heard of the name Ye Wudi before, so he could only conclude Ye Qiu belonged to the offspring of some reclusive high-level master.
As the two chatted, Ye Qiu did not talk too much with Mu Zhige, lest he accidentally reveal his true identity as Ye Qiu. As for Mu Zhige, when he moved on to talk about his sister, he described Mu Wanqing in such glowing terms that even Ye Qiu, no matter how slow, could tell that Mu Zhige intended to introduce the two of them to each other.
Ye Qiu rubbed his forehead, feeling somewhat troubled. Although he had a favorable impression of Mu Wanqing, the prospect of getting to know her under the disguised identity of Ye Wudi felt awkward.
While pondering how to tactfully decline Mu Zhige’s suggestion, a beautiful figure suddenly sat next to Mu Zhige, emitting a voice as pleasant as that of orioles singing among willows, "Humph, you don’t allow others to get some fresh air, yet here you are, drinking and attending the ball. Brother, don’t you think you are being a bit too much?"
Mu Zhige, seeing his sister appear abruptly, was about to scold her for stepping out of her room without permission, but instead, he retracted his words and smiled, "Wanqing, let me introduce you. This is Brother Ye, a friend of mine."
As he spoke, Mu Wanqing turned to Ye Qiu and extended her delicate hand with a polite smile, "Hello, I am Mu Wanqing."
"Ye Wudi!" Ye Qiu gently said, shaking hands with Mu Zhige and feeling an indescribable softness that was very comfortable.
Mu Wanqing, hearing this name, slightly frowned and muttered, ’Ye Wudi...’ The name seemed somewhat brash.
Mu Zhige, naturally noticing his sister’s train of thought, interjected, "Little sister, Brother Ye is very outstanding. You two should communicate more."
"Brother Ye, as you can see my sister, what do you think? She has no boyfriend as of now," Mu Zhige said, feigning a distressed look. Mu Wanqing really wanted to pinch Mu Zhige hard. If she, Mu Wanqing, wanted a boyfriend, all she had to do was say the word and countless men would flock to her. It was irritating that her brother made it seem as though she couldn’t find anyone.
Ye Qiu was smiling lightly while Mu Zhige was incessantly trying to play matchmaker between the two. However, unfortunately for him, Ye Qiu showed no particular enthusiasm. After a short while, he took his leave.
Ye Qiu quickly escaped from the company of Mu Zhige and his sister Mu Wanqing. He did not wish to continue sitting there as Ye Wudi. Under no circumstances could he let them discover that Ye Wudi was actually Ye Qiu; otherwise, he would be in trouble.
As Ye Qiu departed without much fuss, Mu Wanqing was left sitting there, somewhat lost in thought. This Ye Wudi seemed to have avoided her; could it be that she wasn’t beautiful enough?
Mu Wanqing started to wonder if she had become ugly, making a man hurry away from her, with Ye Wudi being the first.
After bidding Ye Qiu farewell, Mu Zhige returned and began to sigh and shake his head.
He sighed, "What a pity to miss such a good match!"
