Chapter 374: Assassin City 0373

The city before him, Ye Qiu hadn’t visited for quite some time and found himself immersed in memories.

Back then, he had come here alone and had emerged from among many assassins, establishing his status as the king of the assassin world.

Yiguo, a small country, yet it was the birthplace of a terrorist power.

The largest assassin organization was born here, making it the capital of assassins.

On the surface, it was a bustling city, but at night, it became a place where assassins roamed.

Ye Qiu entered a European-style pub.

The pub was somewhat dark, with dim lighting and few people, only one or two tables occupied by a few guests.

The young bartender, seeing a face from the East, showed no surprise, as if it were quite normal.

"What would you like to drink, sir?"

Seeing Ye Qiu seated, the bartender casually asked.

"I’ll have a ’Grim Reaper’s Night’."

The young bartender was taken aback at first, then his eyes subtly shifted, and he quickly changed his expression to a more serious one, courteously telling Ye Qiu, "One moment, sir, this drink can only be prepared by our boss."

After saying that, the bartender immediately went to the back room.

’Grim Reaper’s Night’ was code known only to those familiar with the pub’s owner.

Ye Qiu was in no hurry, idly twirling an empty glass in his hand, waiting patiently.

Soon, a seductive voice arrived, "I wonder which gentleman has asked for ’Grim Reaper’s Night’?"

Accompanying the voice was a faint scent of perfume, not something lavish like Chanel, but a subtle jasmine aroma that only royalty had the privilege to enjoy.

An ordinary person wouldn’t understand the real significance behind this perfume scent.

Who could imagine that the owner of an inconspicuous pub would be a person connected with the Yiguan royalty?

Their gazes collided, and the woman clearly lost her composure upon seeing Ye Qiu.

The woman sat behind the bar, her allure fading as she seemed to become another person.

"How have you been?" the woman’s tone was very gentle.

"I’m well," Ye Qiu responded with a smile, not swayed by the woman’s gentleness.

The more beautiful the scenery, the more intoxicating it is, and also the more dangerous. Had Ye Qiu not been an old acquaintance, who could have guessed that this tall, blue-eyed, blond Yiguan beauty sitting before him was a figure to be feared.

"Did you come to ask for my help with something?" The woman was fluent in Chinese, without any accent, sounding utterly authentic.

Her Chinese was taught by none other than Ye Qiu himself; this was the first Chinese phrase she had spoken in years.

"Are you still angry with me?" Ye Qiu didn’t follow the conversation but instead posed a question.

The woman stared at Ye Qiu, "After all these years, I thought I wouldn’t see you again. Since you’ve appeared before me voluntarily, I’m sure it’s not really to see me."

Ye Qiu rubbed his temples; talking to this woman was headache-inducing because she was smarter than anyone, likely having guessed his purpose for this visit.

"That’s right, there’s something I want to investigate," Ye Qiu admitted.

"Hehe, what could possibly stump King Yan, the king of the assassin world? If there’s really something you couldn’t figure out, that would be truly strange," the woman said mockingly. She poured herself a glass of red wine. Her bright red lips touched the glass and took a small sip, leaving a deep lipstick mark.

Ye Qiu gave a bitter smile, "You haven’t changed, still brooding over the past."

Whoosh!

As soon as Ye Qiu finished speaking, the woman’s wine glass flew towards him. Ye Qiu raised his hand and flicked, and with a snap, the wine glass shattered under his fingers. The woman in front of him instantly jumped onto the bar, a flash of cold light sweeping by.

Ye Qiu blinked, the knife was very agile and fast.

He leaned back, and the blade light immediately rushed towards his face.

As the chair beneath Ye Qiu was about to topple, he placed one hand on the ground, supporting himself with the chair, and sprang up, twisting in midair while the blade light continuously flashed around him.

The woman’s knife, fast as a startled swan and fluid like water, missed Ye Qiu several times and suddenly changed direction.

Ye Qiu’s eyes tightened slightly. He spotted an opening and immediately reached out with two fingers, directly catching the blade that was stabbing towards him.

The woman’s movement halted abruptly; she stared at Ye Qiu and finally released her hand. Ye Qiu then shot the knife into the wooden plank behind the bar; the entire blade was embedded in it.

"Your skills have become stronger." The woman exhaled a breath of warm air, giving a slight smile with her lush, tempting lips, as if about to kiss Ye Qiu’s.

Proud peaks, supported by a bra, carved out deep valleys, revealing a desire to burst forth.

Ye Qiu steadied his mind, woke from a momentary trance, and stepped back. Only then did he gradually stop feeling the woman’s warm breath.

"I’m no longer your match now; it seems I can’t keep you here with me." A mixture of resentment and regret flickered in the woman’s eyes.

"I hope you won’t brood over the past." Ye Qiu said seriously, a rare occurrence.

The woman smiled, "I married a man I didn’t like for the sake of my family. I agreed, but he was short-lived; I regained my freedom in less than half a year. Do you think a divorced woman like me can still find the man I desire?"

Ye Qiu dared not interject and could only smile.

Seeing Ye Qiu’s expression, the woman felt somewhat disappointed, "You think I’m not good enough for you, is that it?"

"Because I’m older than you?"

"An older woman and a younger man isn’t something frowned upon in our Italy."

The woman tried to persuade Ye Qiu, who felt quite helpless, "Ultimately, I am just a floating weed, blown wherever the wind takes me, perhaps that’s where I am meant to stop."

The woman didn’t understand Ye Qiu’s poetic line, and looked at him with a wistful gaze, "Do you want me to help?"

"Yes." Ye Qiu quickly replied concisely.

"Since you want that, then you must listen to me. You disappeared for several years, leaving me to marry that man, wouldn’t you say you owe me?" The woman ran a finger across Ye Qiu’s chest, her red nails glistening under the dim lights, flickering with a seductive glow.

"What do you want me to do, and you’ll help me?"

The woman snapped her fingers, and the young bartender ran over. She whispered a few words to the bartender, and soon boxes of red wine lined the bar.

"You wronged me yet ask for my help, well alright, drink with me."

"Finish all the red wine on this bar, and I’ll agree to put all that has happened before behind us."

The woman looked at Ye Qiu, waiting for his response.

Ye Qiu gazed at this glamorous face, every frown and smile brimming with boundless allure and charm.

Ye Qiu pondered for a moment, then slowly smiled and said, "Fine, I’ll drink with you!"
