Chapter 307: 0306 Grab the Title

Ye Qiu’s battle zone saw a continuous reduction in the number of competing martial artists.

Jian Wushuang’s skills shone the brightest, and in a short period of time, only a little over thirty people were left.

"You stand there without making a move the whole time, that doesn’t seem proper," Jian Wushuang said, turning towards Ye Qiu after a slash.

At this moment, Ye Qiu and Ye Zi were quite relaxed because all the other martial artists had been drawn away by Jian Wushuang, and no one dared to engage with them any longer.

However, Jian Wushuang couldn’t stand it any longer, even though there were pitifully few true masters among these martial artists. If he were to be the one to knock them all out of the competition, it would be too easy for Ye Qiu and his company. Ye Qiu’s ability was not weak; he should not be allowed to advance so effortlessly.

Upon hearing this, Ye Qiu asked Ye Zi to stand aside and watch, not wanting her to take action.

Ye Zi obediently nodded in agreement, while Ye Qiu turned his gaze to several other competitors in a different direction.

Now those martial artists who were avoiding Jian Wushuang all wore frustrated expressions. With Jian Wushuang on the left and Ye Qiu on the right, how could they stand a chance against two masters at the True Qi level?

Jian Wushuang continued to wield his sword like rain, each stroke tricky and unblockable.

On the other side, Ye Qiu’s fists created gusts of wind, and there were truly few who could withstand a punch from him.

Quietly, as Ye Qiu and Jian Wushuang, these two ferocious tigers, continued to strike, only fourteen people were left competing against them.

At the moment, only four more people needed to be eliminated for there to be enough spots for ten contestants.

Ye Qiu slowly stopped moving, and Jian Wushuang’s sword continued to hum. Suddenly, a Cross Slash came, bam bam, and two more were eliminated.

The twelve remaining competitors glanced at each other. At this critical moment, among this group of over ten martial artists, before Jian Wushuang could make another move, one of them suddenly attacked the two people beside them.

Thud!

"You!" Someone was infuriated by this sudden betrayal. He could never have imagined that at such a moment, he would fall to what he considered his least threatening comrade.

Since one person had done it, actively ejecting others from the contest, the rest of the martial artists didn’t even blink as they started to follow suit.

A few breaths later, exactly ten people were left in the battle zone, all eligible to advance to the next round of competition.

"Whew... that was close. Lucky I acted quickly, otherwise I would have been the one eliminated," thought one of the remaining fighters with relief, otherwise, Jian Wushuang would have eliminated them.

Woosh!

A glimmer of light flashed by again.

This martial artist, who had just breathed a sigh of relief and was enjoying the joy of remaining, suddenly stiffened. Following that, he felt a severe pain in his abdomen and a great force coming at him. He felt his body lighten, and by the time he looked back, he was already flying out of the arena.

"Huh?" In that moment, Ye Qiu’s gaze showed a touch of shock and confusion.

Why hadn’t Jian Wushuang stopped? There were only ten people left; what did he mean by this?

"To challenge the Ten Owls, without being at the True Qi level, all is in vain. I am helping you, to prevent you from stepping onto the battlefield only to be defeated in one move and become a laughingstock; that would be truly embarrassing," Jian Wushuang offered his explanation, but to those who had just been kicked out of the arena by him, his words sounded rather grating.

"To shorten the time, ten spots are also unnecessary," Jian Wushuang’s sword gleamed once more.

He moved again, intent on eliminating a few more of the remaining eight.

His sword was like lightning, the tip pointed at several other people, leaving only those at the peak of the Vigor Realm, with the sole exceptions of Ye Qiu and Ye Zi, whom Jian Wushuang had excluded.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Even at the peak of the Vigor Realm, they couldn’t last more than a few moves under Jian Wushuang’s assault, falling back in defeat, some even calling out to the martial seniors not too far away, hoping someone would speak up for them.

This martial artist was evidently too naive; though the rule was to keep ten people, having fewer than ten would not break any rules. Jian Wushuang chose to keep attacking, and these martial seniors couldn’t find fault with his actions.

Without surprise, the remaining seven martial artists were all kicked out of the competition by Jian Wushuang alone; in the entire combat area, only he, Ye Qiu, and Ye Zi were left.

Jian Wushuang immediately ceased his assault, casting a glance at Ye Qiu without launching another attack. His wariness towards Ye Qiu was evident; he truly intended to settle their score in the challenge match.

The first combat area concluded, using only three of the ten available spots.

Two other combat zones remained fiercely contested for the remaining spots.

Mu Zhige, Lin Wurou, and Lan Bing worked together quite smoothly, especially Lan Bing. When she made her move, she truly had her father’s flair. Although her palm technique wasn’t overwhelmingly powerful, it was still potent. This scene brought Lan Xiaosheng great comfort; his daughter had finally gained the strength to protect herself.

However, as much as Lan Xiaosheng felt reassured, his frown grew deeper.

He harbored yet another worry because within this combat zone there was a terrifying individual.

Zuonan!

This crazed individual had already murdered a Vigor Realm peak warrior, Yuan Zongguang. If he went berserk again, Lan Bing would also be in danger.

Everyone in this combat zone knew of Zuonan’s ruthlessness. Although he was alone and without allies, the vivid memory of his previous attacks caused many to steer clear of him, including those martial artists who had formed alliances.

No one approached him...

Zuonan was expressionless, his face donning a faint air of indifference. Since no one sought him out, he took it upon himself to find others.

Zuonan made his move, but the result was that all the martial artists would avoid him at the first sight, fearing they would be brutally killed by Zuonan, as no one dared to gamble with their lives.

Suddenly, Mu Zhige, Lin Wurou, and Lan Bing found themselves the target of Zuonan’s focus.

Each of them felt a heavy weight in their hearts as they exchanged glances. What should they do?

Logically, Mu Zhige and Lin Wurou should be seeking vengeance for Yuan Zongguang, but their own strength was not even on par with his. Now faced with Zuonan, they would only be beaten; they simply did not possess the strength to take revenge.

Around the edges of the combat area, members of the Dragon Group clustered together. Mu Zhige’s trio had been encouraged by these members during their earlier engagements with others, but upon seeing Zuonan appear, the Dragon Group members felt unease, though they also knew that among them, only Ye Qiu had the strength to defeat Zuonan.

Zuonan lightly stepped forward, following some sort of technique that made it seem as if he could shrink the earth beneath him, quickly closing in on the trio.

The three exchanged looks; facing such a skilled and ruthless opponent, even their well-coordinated teamwork might not stand a chance against Zuonan.

"Avoid his sharp edge," Mu Zhige said slowly. They opted for guerrilla tactics, avoiding a direct confrontation with Zuonan.

Mu Zhige, Lin Wurou, and Lan Bing each fled in different directions, minimizing their target profile and retreating.

"You think to split up and escape?" Zuonan chuckled, but he merely gazed at the three directions for a while before pursuing them like a hound chasing the moon.
