Chapter 267: Ye Xiaozhang
Chapter 267: Ye Xiaozhang
Ye Qiu watched the woman before him, a woman even his master, the old lecher, valued, standing right in front of him.
Mu Zhige was very respectful, saying aloud, "Leader, this is Ye Qiu."
The middle-aged woman didn’t speak, examining Ye Qiu, who did not avoid her gaze, letting her take him in while he also scrutinized her.
Based on the old lecher’s tone, this woman should be about the same age as him, but just by looks, he really couldn’t associate this woman with his unkempt master.
The old lecher was always disheveled, never caring for his appearance, looking like a man in his sixties or seventies, while the woman before him—aside from two wrinkles at the corners of her eyes—showed no sign of her age on her face.
Ye Qiu guessed at the relationship between the old lecher and the woman before him. If judging by appearance alone, she was even more beautiful than Master Jingxin, both in figure and facial features.
Ye Qiu couldn’t figure out why the old lecher didn’t pursue this woman and instead set his sights on Master Jingxin.
He just couldn’t understand the old lecher’s taste!
The quizzical expression on Ye Qiu’s face didn’t escape the middle-aged woman’s notice; she slightly frowned and said indifferently, "I heard you are quite skilled."
"You flatter me. Compared to you, I still have a long way to go," replied Ye Qiu with modesty.
"Heh, you bear a striking resemblance to your master in demeanor, but I wonder if you have learned even a fraction of his skills," the middle-aged woman said.
"Master sent me to join the Dragon Group so I could learn from you," Ye Qiu said with a smile.
Mu Zhige stood by, pondering who Ye Qiu’s master might be. No wonder Ye Qiu was classified as an S-Level confidential person and his integration into the Dragon Group seemed exceptionally smooth. It appeared his ties with the leader were probably not shallow.
Mu Zhige, alone with his wild guesses, listened as the middle-aged woman said, "I never thought that old guy would admit he’s not my equal. If he wants me to teach his disciple, fine, but first, let’s see if you are worth my time to teach."
"May I ask, senior, how should I prove myself?" Ye Qiu responded with a question.
The middle-aged woman gave a mysterious smile and replied, "Don’t worry; when the time comes, you will naturally understand."
Ye Qiu had no idea what kind of game the middle-aged woman was playing, but he remained silent, only listening as she instructed, "Zhige, later take him to the room we’ve prepared for her, and also show him around, introduce him to this place."
Mu Zhige nodded, and as the two left the office, they saw many people gathered outside, staring at this place. When they spotted the unfamiliar face of Ye Qiu beside Mu Zhige, they cast hostile gazes.
Ye Qiu was well aware of the hostility from these people. Frowning, he didn’t understand why they showed him such expressions—had he done something to earn the wrath of heaven and the hatred of people?
The culprit, Mu Zhige, scratched his head awkwardly and quickly pulled Ye Qiu out of everyone’s sight, taking him to a room made entirely of metal.
"Uhm... Brother Ye, as you know, you’ve just joined the Dragon Group, and it’ll take some time for you to fit in here. Don’t mind those people. Once you prove your strength, they will show you respect," Mu Zhige explained, a mere formality, as he said this to cover up his own role in spreading the rumors about Ye Xiaozhang’s arrogance at the leader’s behest, especially once he saw those Dragon Group members and felt a twinge of guilt as he hurriedly dragged Ye Qiu away, fearing someone would reveal the words had come from him.
"Brother Ye, you rest here for a while. I’m going to prepare some life necessities for you, so when you come back here in the future, you need not look further," Mu Zhige said, leaving the room first.
Ye Qiu surveyed the special room, having to admit that a metal-constructed room was rather interesting—as his sense of perception met with the obstruction of the metal, it seemed like it hit a barrier, cutting off further investigation.
Ye Qiu touched the metal panel of the room, revealing a look of considerable interest.
It was only a few minutes before Mu Zhige returned, carrying a blanket and some toiletries, placing them on the bed.
"Alright, Brother Ye, shall I show you around?" Mu Zhige asked.
Ye Qiu was also eager to learn more about this place, the most powerful secret force in China, the Dragon Group. What exactly made this place special? He was naturally very curious.
Leading the way, Mu Zhige introduced the surrounding facilities, especially when Ye Qiu saw a swimming pool that was hundreds of meters long, he was somewhat stunned. An underground swimming pool? Ye Qiu hadn’t expected to see a swimming pool here and was genuinely surprised.
"You see that over there? That’s where we usually train."
"Hmm, this room is the music room. It’s used for relaxation after training."
"Behind this door is a library, with all sorts of books, both in print and digital. You could say it rivals the national library; there’s nothing you can’t find."
It wasn’t until the two of them arrived at the end of the corridor and stopped in front of the last iron door that Mu Zhige’s expression changed slightly, and Ye Qiu asked in surprise, "What is this place?"
Mu Zhige smiled and explained, "This is our members’ favorite place to enter in the Dragon Group, and it is also the most treasured part of the entire secret base."
"Its name is the Gravity Training Room. It’s controlled by high-tech to produce various forces, so as to provide breakthrough training for the human body."
"Some also call it the Devil’s Training Room because everyone who enters it undergoes a challenge of human physical limits."
"It’s something people love and hate."
Listening to Mu Zhige’s high praise for the Gravity Training Room, Ye Qiu’s interest deepened. The Gravity Training Room—just the name sounded intriguing. Could it be using the pressure of gravity to unleash oneself, to dig out potential?
Ye Qiu speculated quietly.
As Ye Qiu and Mu Zhige stood in front of the Gravity Training Room, suddenly the door opened automatically.
With it, a figure slowly entered their field of view.
"Si Ma’ao!" Mu Zhige was momentarily taken aback.
The latter walked out of the Gravity Training Room, and upon seeing the two of them, particularly when he noticed Ye Qiu next to Mu Zhige, he couldn’t help but ask, "Who is he?"
"Oh?" Mu Zhige took a good while to recover his composure, somewhat wary of Si Ma’ao, he explained, "He is the new member who has just joined our Dragon Group, Ye Qiu."
"Ye Qiu?" Si Ma’ao at first was shocked, then his body burst forth with an imposing aura.
"You’re saying he’s Ye Qiu? That Ye Xiaozhang?" Si Ma’ao’s gaze suddenly fixed on Ye Qiu.
Mu Zhige hadn’t expected Si Ma’ao’s sudden change, from being genial to almost bursting with aggression.
"Yes, he’s Ye Qiu," Mu Zhige still nodded.
Ye Qiu’s gaze collided with Si Ma’ao’s intense expression. With his upper body bare, covered in sweat, his muscles were rugged and prominent, clearly displaying his strength.
Ye Qiu was both surprised by the man’s aura and muttering to himself how he had suddenly become the Ye Xiaozhang in the other’s mouth.
It seemed Ye Qiu was visiting the Dragon Group’s secret base for the first time today; how could he have inexplicably seemed to make so many enemies?
