19: Chapter 19: Beat Him Hard 19: Chapter 19: Beat Him Hard Xin Xiaotong quickly pushed the door open and entered, with Tang Zhong following closely behind.

Upon entering, they immediately saw the registration counter.

No one was around except for a tiny TV broadcasting the news.

Besides that, there was just a simple ledger—a mere small hotel.

But the voices from inside grew louder and louder.

First came a man’s voice.

“Sister-in-law, just bring out the money quickly.

I don’t ask for much, three thousand will do!”

“Impossible, I will not give you another penny!” a weak female voice responded.

“This isn’t good, you know?

Before my brother died, he left you this hotel and repeatedly told you to take good care of me.

Now you won’t even give me three thousand.

How is this taking good care of me?

If my brother knew this from his grave, he would be heartbroken!”

The man’s voice became increasingly agitated.

All of this fell on Tang Zhong’s ears, and he understood what was happening.

He had never seen such a shameless man before, demanding money from his sister-in-law with threats.

The voice was somewhat familiar to Tang Zhong; it sounded like he had heard it somewhere before.

Xin Xiaotong looked apologetically at Tang Zhong, “I’m sorry about this, sir!”

“It’s alright!” Tang Zhong shook his head.

“I need to go check inside for a moment, excuse me!”

“Go ahead, family matters are important!” Tang Zhong said.

Only then did Xin Xiaotong enter.

After all, these were someone’s family issues, and Tang Zhong felt it wasn’t his place to intervene.

He found a chair to sit down and began thinking about what to do next.

Unable to find Jiangdong Group and achieve his goal, he could not return; he had to find a job to survive.

Meanwhile, as Tang Zhong was pondering, the sound of things being smashed came from inside—it sounded like dishes and utensils!

Cries and wails followed soon after.

“Uncle, we really have no money left, my mom just got hospitalized, and we spent all our savings.

I still need money for school; please, we really have no more to give you, just let us go!” It was Xin Xiaotong’s voice.

“Let you go…

My dear niece, you make it sound as though your uncle is some awful villain.

Your father, when he died, handed me over to your mother, telling her to take good care of me.

If she can’t do that, why did she agree in the first place?”

This…

Tang Zhong, listening, clenched his fists.

How could there be such scum, blaming others for his own failings.

He was perfectly capable, yet blamed others for not taking care of him—it was ludicrous.

But this was someone else’s family affair…

Tang Zhong could only sigh deeply, unable to intervene.

But then another voice came.

“No money, you say?

This hotel still has some value.

How about this—give me the hotel, and both of you mother and daughter can move out, how about that?”

“No, absolutely not, this is the only thing my husband left for me; I cannot give it to you.”

“Uncle, we really don’t have money; I am still in school, please leave us alone!”

“Leave you?

Who will care for me then?

You can’t even keep a promise, so why should you keep the hotel?”

Cries for mercy ensued!

A series of dialogues fuelled the fire within Tang Zhong as he sat on the chair.

The man was blaming his own worthlessness on others, truly heartless.

He stood up and headed straight inside.

He arrived just in time to see Xin Xiaotong kneeling before a man, pleading.

In the corner of the room, on a bed, a woman was very frail and pale, hooked to an IV.

And this man, Tang Zhong had seen him before,, no wonder his voice sounded so familiar.

Wasn’t this man the beggar whose true nature was revealed before?

Unexpectedly meeting him here, this must be fate.

Tang Zhong entered and also startled the three people.

The man turned around and saw Tang Zhong, his eyes quickly shimmered with a cold gleam, “It’s you, truly no effort required to deal with you!”

“Yes, what a coincidence.” Tang Zhong also smiled, “But what skill is there in bullying a mother and daughter?

I didn’t expect you to be such a loser!”

“Shut your damn mouth, it’s you who ruined my livelihood, I’ll kill you!” The man charged at Tang Zhong, swinging his fist, ready to strike.

Xin Xiaotong screamed in fright, she hadn’t expected this, having finally found a place to stay, if they were to fight now, wouldn’t that be awful!

“Don’t do it, you better run!”

The woman lying on the bed turned even paler now, tears streaming down in pain.

“Xin Bao, don’t treat the guest this way!”

The beggar, called Xin Bao, now had a ferocious look on his face, his fist aimed at Tang Zhong’s face.

“Just now, you completely humiliated me, now I’ll make you lose face!”

The fist was about to hit Tang Zhong’s face.

A sinister smile appeared on Tang Zhong’s face, he swiftly grabbed the man’s seemingly fierce arm, then squeezed it hard.

Xin Bao’s face showed a painful expression, his hand hurt so much he nearly knelt down.

“You want to hit me?

Whoever tries to hit me, I won’t let him off!” Tang Zhong said, then kicked out, striking Xin Bao in the abdomen.

Xin Bao flew backward, landing on the ground, clutching his stomach and crying out.

This scene was something neither Xin Xiaotong nor her mother had expected.

Xin Bao was known as a tough punk on this street, ruthless and had even trained in martial arts as a child.

But now, he was completely defenseless in front of this man, which was terrifying.

Xin Xiaotong stared wide-eyed at Tang Zhong, unable to believe it.

“You truly are someone who doesn’t appreciate favors, using what others promised as a bargaining chip to blackmail them, you really are despicable.” Tang Zhong said through gritted teeth, he really couldn’t stand this guy.

Anywhere else, Tang Zhong would have already dealt with him severely, but here, in Xuan Country, one must abide by the law.

Xin Bao also saw that Tang Zhong was not someone to mess with, and quickly began to plead, “Big brother…

I was wrong, please let me go, I won’t do it again!”

While speaking, his hand slowly moved toward the back, towards the smashed dish that was now broken into many pieces.

He grabbed a shard, suddenly his expression turned cold, and he sprang up, stabbing towards Tang Zhong’s abdomen.

“Die, you meddler!”

Xin Xiaotong and her mother screamed again, this stab could certainly be lethal.

But Tang Zhong had already seen through Xin Bao’s intention, and his perception was extremely sharp.

This person really couldn’t change his old ways, and with one stomp, Xin Bao flew out again.

This time, Tang Zhong didn’t stop; he grabbed Xin Bao, dragged him along the ground to the entrance of Niuniu Motel, slapped him several times hard, and then kicked him out onto the muddy road, his body covered in filthy mud, looking utterly miserable.

“From now on, every time I see you, I’ll beat you up, get lost!”
