Chapter 907: Chapter 369 Instant Recovery_2 Chapter 907: Chapter 369 Instant Recovery_2 The High Priest stood on the ground, flexing his swiftly healing body, feeling an unprecedented ease and strength. He looked at his hands, incredulously saying, “How is this possible? How did everything heal all of a sudden…”
The man in black floated in the air with the wind, saying, “Healing your wounds was just a small treat for you, my power exceeds the limits of your imagination, and restoring you in an instant is the least of my abilities.”
The High Priest was somewhat out of touch with the times and could be considered the most dim-witted among the god-level experts. He was utterly stunned by the strength of the man in black, who called himself “Destiny.” Even though he had now recovered and regained peak combat capacity, he still couldn't muster the will to resist the man in black known as “Destiny.”
The man in black said, “Let's go, everything here is no longer your concern.”
Then the man in black floated swiftly through the air, and the dazed High Priest quickly snapped to attention and followed closely, no longer looking at the land beneath his feet…
As soon as the two had left, the magma that hung motionless in the air suddenly resumed its flow, passing over where the High Priest had just lain. Under the effect of the searing magma, the freshly grown grass was instantly burnt to ashes, then the ashes melted into the magma, disappearing without a trace. Apart from this grassy patch, all traces of the High Priest's presence here were erased, never to be found again.
The Kenya Government, dissatisfied with the United States of America's support for domestic opposition military officers plotting rebellion, only presented the evidence to the United Nations to seek justice on their behalf, not daring to expel the US Forces from the Mombasa US Military Base within its territory, nor daring to engage in military conflicts with the US Forces. Thus, the US Forces were still able to move freely on Kenyan soil as before.
In order to completely eradicate the Destroyer and to locate the key items at the source of the strong electromagnetic signals, the Mombasa US Military Base dispatched its finest on this mission, but the outcome was too distressing to witness–their military force was massively wiped out by Yan Fei's drones.
The losses of the US Forces came too quickly, and with the Kenyan weather remaining in extreme conditions, the United States of America didn't have time to redeploy new military forces from elsewhere in the world. Thus, Kenya was in a period when US military strength was at its lowest; the Mombasa Military Base, which often had over fifteen thousand troops, now had fewer than 500 American soldiers left on guard.
But even with only 500 military personnel left in Kenya, the US Forces didn't choose to hold their position at the Mombasa Military Base; instead, they sent out these remaining military soldiers. A small portion of the American soldiers conducted a wide search midway up Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, with the aim of rescuing the pilots who had parachuted to escape during combat with the Mysterious aircraft. These pilots had to parachute out of necessity, because the opponent's strength was too overpowering, forcing them to escape by parachute–not because they were cowards.
Moreover, these Air Force pilots were highly technical talents cultivated by the United States Air Force at great expense and were considered vital assets to the Air Force. Therefore, even though these pilots had parachuted, the United States military still aimed to rescue them at the earliest possible moment.
After landing from their parachutes, these American pilots immediately activated their distress signals, sending their positions back to facilitate their rescue by the rescue teams. However, due to the volcanic eruption that occurred just prior, combined with extreme weather conditions and heavy casualties that left the US Forces severely understaffed, the rescue of these American pilots was not immediately executed.
When the weather conditions slightly improved, even though the Mombasa base also had a multitude of military tasks to contend with, they still dispatched a search and rescue team to locate the stranded pilots. Knowing the exact positions of the pilots, the military soldiers quickly found the designated locations, guided by the navigation satellites.
What puzzled the American soldiers, upon reaching the coordinates, was that they only found the pilots' positioning equipment, clothing, and weapons on the ground, but not the pilots themselves. It wasn't just one pilot; all of the parachuting pilots were in the same predicament. The scene left behind their positioning devices and clothing, but the pilots themselves had completely vanished.
The search and rescue military soldiers had an ominous premonition, so they expanded the search area and intensity. However, after killing many animals and painstakingly searching all possible hiding spots nearby, they still couldn't locate the parachute-escaping American pilots, as if they had never been there. Without clothes and unarmed, where could they have gone?
On the other hand, all of the US Forces' other combat-ready soldiers were mobilized, occupying the surroundings of the collapsed underground cave, where they established a combat position. Within a one-kilometer radius of the cave collapse area were bodies left by military soldiers, casualties from clashes between American soldiers and personnel from other nations attempting to enter the collapsed area.
