Chapter 793: Chapter 329: Epidemic Center_3 Chapter 793: Chapter 329: Epidemic Center_3 Seeing Yang Qi muttering to himself in a trance, Yan Fei realized the lie detector's results regarding Wen Rou and couldn't help but chuckle as he said, “Yang Qi, it seems you've gone down a dead end because you think Wen Rou is problematic, so you've been trying to find evidence to prove your point. But in fact, Wen Rou isn't problematic at all, and that's why you can't find any evidence. I suggest you switch your thinking; if you start from the premise that Wen Rou is a good person, an ally, and harmless to both me and Dream Island, then the detection data you've got makes sense.”

Yang Qi wasn't listening to Yan Fei at all. Suddenly, he said, “No, my take on Wen Rou is not wrong. I must conduct a thorough check of the lie detector to see if there is a problem with it. The data uploaded just now must be problematic; that's why I came to the wrong conclusion.”

In the face of reality, Yang Qi was still in denial, and Yan Fei felt somewhat helpless. Given Yang Qi's extraordinarily high intelligence, once he believed something was right, he would persevere to the end, no matter how persuasive Yan Fei was, unless Yan Fei could produce compelling evidence. Nevertheless, Yan Fei was not one to give up; he was determined to resolve the misunderstanding between Yang Qi and Wen Rou. After all, one was the person Yan Fei liked the most, and the other was his best friend; Yan Fei didn't want them to be at odds.

Until Yan Fei left the underground laboratory, Yang Qi was incessantly checking the lie detector and data, trying to figure out what had gone wrong, why the brainwaves of Wen Rou, whom he suspected, showed no problems…

After leaving the laboratory, Yan Fei went back home and immediately used the Auxiliary Brain to search the Internet, beginning to look into reports about the Ebola outbreak in Africa. Indeed, the news about the Ebola outbreak in Africa was plentiful online. Without Yan Fei noticing, the explosive spread of the Ebola virus had become major international news.

However, after Yan Fei carefully read through the news and understood what had actually happened, he felt oddly troubled. The epicenter of this massive Ebola outbreak was in a place all too familiar to him–the Aywei Village at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, Africa's tallest peak. That village was the core area for the Ebola virus outbreak years ago; it was also where he and Wen Rou first met. Unexpectedly, nearly three years later, another wave of the Ebola outbreak had erupted there.

This outbreak of the Ebola virus was particularly terrifying; in just one month's time, it had infected the entire area within a 100 kilometer radius of Aywei Village, causing thousands of deaths and over fifty thousand infections. To contain the rapid spread of the virus and to keep a lid on the news, the Kenyan government joined forces with its neighbor, the Tanzanian government, establishing a quarantine zone around the affected area, prohibiting anyone within from leaving, in an attempt to isolate the Ebola virus inside.

Initially, this method of containment was quite effective. However, it was unknown from which point the Ebola virus breached the quarantine zone's blockade, starting to spread rapidly outside it and causing a massive number of unsuspecting individuals to become infected. At this stage, the outbreak was out of control, forcing the Kenyan and Tanzanian governments to reveal the truth and seek help from the international community. Only then did people become aware that a terrifying Ebola virus outbreak had once again occurred on the African continent.

The Ebola virus is extremely horrific, with no known cure. Once infected, one can only lie in bed awaiting death. Therefore, if nothing unusual happened, all the patients infected by the virus were doomed to die. It was after seeing the tragic fate of the infected in the news that Wen Rou wanted to ask Yan Fei to help find a way to save these lives.

Yan Fei hadn't paid much attention before, but upon discovering that the Ebola outbreak had reemerged in Aywei Village, he found it abnormal. Normally, after experiencing an outbreak, a place would pay great attention to sanitation and epidemic prevention and completely eradicate the source of infection, so a second outbreak is generally unlikely.

The same was true for Aywei Village; after the last outbreak, everything that could be related to the Ebola Virus was destroyed, so it was theoretically impossible for a second outbreak to occur there. Even if an outbreak were to happen, it certainly wouldn't start at the same place. But now, a second Ebola outbreak had occurred there, which was highly unusual. Could it be that Aywei Village harbored some strange phenomenon that remained unnoticed, causing the continual outbreaks of the Ebola virus?

Yan Fei then conducted research on the historical outbreak points of the Ebola virus in Africa, only to discover a surprising pattern that nearly all outbreaks originated within a 200 kilometer radius of the joint border between Kenya and Tanzania, with Kilimanjaro as its center. Although these points of infection burst forth only once with no recurrence, Aywei Village was an exception, indicating there must be a secret there. Regardless of any secrets, Yan Fei couldn't possibly go there to investigate. At least not until a definitive cure for the Ebola Virus became available; with his strength nearing the divine realm, he still wouldn't stand a chance against those dreadful viruses.

Luckily, Yang Qi had already invented a medicine for treating the Ebola virus through the technology extrapolation system, albeit with some side effects. However, with Yan Fei's extraordinary capabilities and incredible control over his body, he could take the medicine not only to treat the damage caused by the Ebola virus but also to avoid any side effects.

So once Dream Island produced the medicine and shipped it to Kenya and Tanzania for treatment, Yan Fei would definitely prevent Wen Rou from entering the affected area. Since Wen Rou was an ordinary person, although she could be cured if infected, the after-effects would be extremely severe. Yan Fei would take her place and go into the epidemic area to help treat the patients himself if necessary.
