Chapter 668 – 668 291 Attack and Anti
Chapter 668: Chapter 291: Attack and Anti-submarine Chapter 668: Chapter 291: Attack and Anti-submarine When they first saw the whale on the sea surface, these F-15 pilots didn't feel anything out of the ordinary, they just thought that the whale was a bit larger in size, a bit more agile in movement. Little did they know that the whale would suddenly turn into a weapon array, launching so many missiles at once and attacking them.
These F-15 pilots had undergone extensive knowledge training, so they knew all about the various missile models and capabilities from different countries around the world, which allowed them to respond appropriately in combat. However, when they saw missiles being launched from the back of the whale, they realized they didn't recognize this type of missile–it was a completely new missile never before seen on the battlefield.
Moreover, the performance of these new missiles was exceptionally powerful. Once they soared into the sky, they automatically divided up their attack zones, chasing after the F-15 fighter jets above. The pilots aboard the F-15s didn't have time to think too much. While reporting the situation back to the United Fleet, they swiftly accelerated their aircraft, increased their flight altitude, and released all their decoy flares in a scramble to escape the missiles' attack range.
The top speed of the F-15 reached 2.5 times the speed of sound, yet the unnamed missiles pursuing them were even faster, reaching speeds of over 6 times the speed of sound. In just a flash, the missiles caught up to the fleeing F-15 fighter jets.
However, the large number of decoy flares released by the F-15 fighter jets achieved a great victory, as these flares caused more than half of the incoming missiles to deviate from their correct attack paths and self-destruct in the air. But the remaining twenty or so missiles locked onto the F-15 fighter jets relentlessly. They caught up and struck the F-15s flying in the sky, blowing them all up.
The pilots flying these F-15s were all elite from their respective countries. Unlike the Navy, they were well-trained and experienced, and in theory, should not have been downed by the missiles so easily. But two unexpected factors led to their swift annihilation.
The first was the incredibly realistic whale; they had never expected to be attacked by a whale, so there was some complacency in their thinking, allowing the whale to get within optimal attacking range. The second unexpected factor was that, upon recognizing the incoming missiles, they suddenly discovered that their own aircraft were experiencing substantial issues. The radar, GPS, communication equipment on their aircraft failed completely, leaving them unable to do anything other than release decoy flares and weapons. It was the occurrence of these two unexpected factors at the same time that led to the quick downing of all twelve F-15 fighter jets.
Among these pilots, a few had very extensive combat experience. Upon realizing the system failure of their fighters and failing to shake the incoming missiles, they immediately chose to eject and parachute. The other pilots, lacking such real combat experience, did not eject right away. Instead, they attempted to pilot their fighter jets to dodge the missile attacks while calling for rescue from the United Fleet behind them. Ultimately, they did not make contact with the United Fleet and perished along with their aircraft.
From the moment the whale launched the missiles, it took only a brief thirty seconds for the twelve F-15 fighter jets in the sky to be completely wiped out by the unknown type of missiles. They spent the entire time trying to escape; besides releasing decoy flares, they didn't even have time to retaliate with missiles. Burning aircraft wreckage fell into the sea, while four pristine parachutes appeared in the sky, belonging to the pilots who had chosen to eject. Their correct action had, for the moment, spared them from death.
Watching the fighter jet wreckage sinking below the sea surface from high altitude left these pilots with a chill in their hearts, knowing that if they had not abandoned their aircraft in time, they too would have sunk with the wreckage into the sea.
However, they quickly remembered they were still in danger and began to use their communicators to contact the United Fleet behind them, hoping for rescue. But disappointingly, their communicators seemed to be completely broken, receiving no signal at all. Thinking back to the earlier complete failure of the radar, GPS, and communication equipment on their aircraft, their hearts sank.
Only then did they recall that they had entered an air space known as the Maritime Forbidden Zone, where all aircraft that had previously entered experienced a total failure of their radar, GPS, and communication equipment. However, those aircraft had immediately turned around, and so they were not shot down. But having flown their aircraft such a great distance, what would become of them?
While those who had narrowly survived the first wave of attacks were terror-stricken, the small holes on the back of the whale below them suddenly disappeared, only to be replaced by even tinier holes. Instinctually feeling that something was amiss, the pilots saw blue light flickering within those holes, and it seemed like something flew out from them. Then, their vision went dark, and they lost consciousness forever.
It turned out the electromagnetic cannon inside the whale had started firing. With the ultrhigh firing frequency and flight speed of the electromagnetic cannon, by the time the human eye could just detect the signal of the projectile and before the brain could even react, the high-speed projectile had already shredded the human bodies in the sky into pieces.
