Chapter 656: Chapter 267 Split Personality Chapter 656: Chapter 267 Split Personality “`

At this time, when the massive United Fleet was advancing towards the territorial waters of Dream Island, claiming to conduct anti-piracy exercises in the North Pacific Ocean, thanks to the rapid dissemination by television stations and the internet, almost everyone on Earth knew about this somewhat sensational news.

By then, combining the news previously released by Dream Island and the trade bans on Dream Technology products led by The United States of America, the astute amongst the public realized a fact: although Japan, Canada, and Australia had formed the United Fleet under the pretext of anti-piracy, their true intent was actually geared towards Dream Island and the several cutting-edge technologies it possessed.

Most people in the world didn't have any direct conflict of interest with Dream Island, they were just intensely exhausted by their everyday work, so they always hoped something interesting would happen to spice up their tedious lives. After being reminded by their own country's experts, they also understood that the joint naval operation by the three nations was specifically aimed at Dream Island. On one side was the formidable United Fleet formed by the three nations' navies, and on the other was Yan Fei, who had become prominent thanks to Dream Island. Now that a collision between the two was imminent, these spectators were thrilled and immediately shifted their focus to this sea battle that was bound to make history.

Although the China Navy was held up by The United States of America Navy near the sensitive islands off the China coast, preventing them from supporting Dream Island, they similarly managed to keep the formidable US Navy tied up near their own waters, indirectly providing support to Dream Island. They deployed reconnaissance satellites from outer space and already had a crystal clear understanding of the Tri-nation United Fleet's situation. They also informed Yan, hoping that Yan Fei would prepare in advance for the upcoming battle.

When it became apparent that the three nations had formed a powerful United Fleet and that this fleet was targeting Dream Island and Yan Fei, the first reaction from China was to advise Yan Fei to leave Dream Island and return to China, to temporarily avoid the threat of the United Fleet. As long as Yan returned to China, protected by its borders, no one would dare to truly harm him.

However, Yan Fei rejected this suggestion and resolutely stated he would not leave Dream Island. He declared that he had sufficient strength to deal with the approaching United Fleet. After multiple failed persuasions, China could only reluctantly give up. Subsequently, the China intelligence agencies also conducted an analysis, and once again, they considered the possibility of a mysterious power hidden behind Yan Fei and thought of the Destroyer.

The intelligence capabilities of China had always been incredibly strong, and despite the United States of America's efforts to downplay the tremendous damage the Destroyer caused on the US West Coast last time, China's intelligence agencies obtained detailed intelligence about that operation. They assessed the combat power of the Destroyer and his fighter jet, knowing that after a technological upgrade, the aircraft had demonstrated formidable combat power.

However, even with China's formidable intelligence capabilities, they were still unable to determine the identity of the mysterious forces behind Yan Fei nor the true relationship between the Destroyer and Yan Fei. They were also in the dark about the origin of the technology for that mysterious fighter jet. It was as if, all of a sudden, these technologies had appeared in the world out of nowhere, leaving China utterly perplexed. In fact, not only China but also the world's most powerful intelligence agency–the US CIA–could not figure out who stood behind Yan Fei, which had become an unsolved mystery.

Upon realizing that Yan Fei insisted on relying on his own abilities to confront the United Fleet, China understood that Yan must have been planning to depend on the Destroyer's power to counter the fleet. It should have been a confrontation with a drastic difference in strength, but after performing war games, they were surprised to find that in a direct confrontation with the United Fleet, the Destroyer and his mysterious fighter jet actually had a greater than 50% chance of emerging victorious.

The Destroyer had risen from obscurity to notoriety in just two years since he first appeared. Yet in this short span of two years, the Destroyer had grown rapidly and now possessed the strength to contend with the United Fleet, whose total tonnage exceeded four hundred thousand tons. This commanded a new level of respect.

After realizing that the Destroyer had a better chance of winning, the China side no longer insisted on Yan Fei leaving Dream Island. They too wanted to witness the true strength of the Destroyer and see what outcome would arise from his confrontation with the United Fleet.

Yan Fei had absolute confidence in claiming final victory, but he still felt some nerves upon discovering such a vast scale of the United Fleet. War was coming, and at the start, all participants tend to believe they will triumph; yet, often there's only one victor, meaning that one side must face defeat. Therefore, Yan Fei also sobered up, constantly reminding himself not to underestimate the enemy, to avoid making crucial mistakes. He had to be war-ready, aiming to completely crush the United Fleet in one fell swoop and deny them any chance of a comeback.

—————-

While Yan Fei was preparing for battle with the Tri-nation United Fleet, a cruise ship arriving from Shanghai docked at the port of Dream Island. After more than a year of construction, the port of Dream Island had become highly developed, boasting all the functions a port should have.
