Chapter 425: Chapter 209: Coffin Man_3 Chapter 425: Chapter 209: Coffin Man_3 This young man had also discovered the power within his body. He was somewhat puzzled, not knowing why he possessed such formidable strength. It was as if this great power had always existed inside him; the moment he summoned it, the strength would surge forth, almost inexhaustibly.
Very quickly, the young man climbed along the rift and emerged onto the ground. Once he came out of the rift, he found himself standing inside a gigantic church. When he saw the layout of the church, a sense of familiarity dawned on him. However, as soon as he laid eyes on the content of the murals in the church, he inexplicably burst into a rage, feeling an overwhelming urge to completely destroy everything.
Just then, the church door opened and church clergy walked in. Having just extinguished a major fire at the Vatican Museum with firefighters, they had now returned to St. Peter's Basilica to check if the basilica had suffered any damage. Little did they know that as soon as they stepped inside, they would find a rift at the very center of the basilica, with a pale-faced young man standing beside it, staring angrily at the content of the murals.
The clergy were startled. St. Peter's Basilica wasn't supposed to be open yet, especially after last night's explosion, and it needed repairs. It would remain closed to visitors for a long time. Given that the doors were not open, how had this young man gotten inside?
The clergy approached the pale-faced young man and said, “Sir, the church is not open for business today, please leave immediately.”
The young man turned around, and, to their surprise, a sinister red glow appeared in his eyes. He looked at the clergy and asked, “Who am I? What time is it? Where is this place? Why am I here?”
The clergy was taken aback. The man didn't even know who he was; could he have amnesia? Perhaps it was due to last night's explosion? With this in mind, the clergy carefully asked, “Sir, do you know how you got here?”
The young man pointed to the rift on the ground and said, “I climbed up from here.”
Seeing the eerie red light in the young man's eyes, the clergy felt a pang of fear, but then remembered that they were on Boss Jesus's turf and had nothing to fear from other demons and ghosts. With bolstered courage, they asked, “Sir, please try to recall, what is your name? Do you have any friends or family in Rome? Do you have their contact information?”
A look of contemplation crossed the young man's face before he replied, “I don't know my name, and I don't know if I have any friends or family.”
The clergy, watching his expression, grew more convinced of his amnesia and kindly said, “Sir, please step away from the rift on the ground, to avoid accidentally falling in. Your condition might be due to an injury or some other cause of memory loss. But don't worry, I will call a doctor for you and notify the police. With their help, you will surely regain your memory and find your family.”
However, the young man was no longer fixated on his identity and instead pointed at Jesus on the cross, asking, “Who is that? Why is he nailed to the cross?”
The clergy's face turned serious and he said, “Sir, please do not point at him. He is our Lord, Jesus, the source of our faith.”
The young man suddenly spoke up, anger in his voice, “No, that's not right. He is not Jesus; he's an impostor, unworthy of everyone's faith. Jesus is actually…”
The young man's words trailed off, his mind a blank. He didn't know what to say next. What he had just uttered came instinctively, but he couldn't grasp any further details.
Finally, the clergy was infuriated. Having devoted their life to God and being one of His most devout believers, they could not tolerate any disrespect towards God. They frowned and said sternly, “Sir, please leave immediately. You are not welcome here.”
The young man's gaze fell upon the cross the clergy wore, and a violent emotion welled up from within. With one stride that spanned a vast distance, he appeared right beside the clergy. The clergy were shocked and before they could react, the young man had grabbed their throat. They struggled desperately, but the young man's grip was like a vise, unrelenting.
The young man grabbed the clergy, tore off the cross they were wearing, and crushed it into a metal ball. Then, flickers of fragmented memories passed through his mind, and he felt an overwhelming disgust towards the clergy. He opened his mouth wide, let out a deep roar, and sharp fangs appeared at the corners of his mouth. Bending down, he bit into the clergy's neck and began to suck their blood.
In an instant, the clergy's blood was drained dry, and without the sustenance of blood, his body turned into a desiccated skin. The young man threw away the remains, licked the blood from the corner of his mouth, and sighed deeply, feeling much better.
The young man looked around the church once more, finding the settings both familiar and strange. Then, for some unknown reason, he felt incredibly oppressed staying there. He let out a skyward howl, emitting a hoarse roar from his mouth, and then, with a flicker, he transformed into hundreds of bats. The bats converged into a swarm, flew rapidly, shattered the church windows painted with the image of Jesus, and then flew out into the darkness. In a flash, they vanished.
