Chapter 1307
Chapter 1307: Chapter 516: Divine Angel Chapter 1307: Chapter 516: Divine Angel From the moment the ten experts of the Holy See entered the villa, to when they discovered who I was inside the room, until they were completely annihilated by who I was, the entire process might seem lengthy to describe, but in fact, it occurred in the blink of an eye, and the time was extremely short.
Before they even realized that something was wrong, the expert from the Holy See who sensed the danger had already let out a roar, alerting the two Cardinals outside. The two Cardinals outside immediately realized that something had gone awry inside the villa. Their expressions changed as they reflexively flipped open the black cloth on the backpack they were carrying, revealing the items hidden underneath.
As soon as these items were revealed, they emitted a sacred white light under the pitch-black night sky, creating an almost dreamlike illusion. The most luminous among them was an exquisitely-made, waist-high white scepter with an ancient appearance. At its top was a vibrant, multicolored sphere, and the scepter was inscribed with golden runes that pulsed rapidly like flowing water, giving off an extremely pure and sacred aura.
Besides that, in the backpack under the black cloth, there was also a golden crown inlaid with various rare gems and a white Holy See cape. Both items radiated divine white light, and they too were adorned with numerous runes, imparting a feeling of both sanctity and immense power.
The leading Cardinal donned the golden crown onto his head with the utmost speed, then draped the white cape over his shoulders, and finally grasped the white scepter in his hand. After wearing these three pieces of equipment, they resonated with each other, their hidden Mysterious Power activated, transmitting this power into the Cardinal's body. The Cardinal's body continuously radiated white Holy Light, exuding a sense of untouchable majesty.
The other Cardinal, who was clearly assigned the task of guarding, took a step back to assist the leading Cardinal after the latter had donned the Three Holy Artifacts of the Holy See. He then withdrew the greatsword he was carrying on his back and stood behind the Cardinal, on guard for any close-quarters assault on the Cardinal.
The two Cardinals outside had just finished preparing for battle when a swarm of Bloodsucking Bats surged out from the windows of the villa, flying rapidly towards the two Cardinals.
Seeing the giant Bloodsucking Bats with red glints in their eyes flying towards themselves, the two powerful Cardinals changed their expressions. They had originally thought that it was a weak Vampire that they could easily overpower. But the situation now suggested that this Vampire was far from simple; it must be an exceptionally high-level Vampire, with strength far exceeding their previous estimates.
However, the Cardinal equipped with the Three Holy Artifacts of the Holy See was full of confidence. Although the Vampire was unexpectedly strong, it only added to the pressure he felt. He still had the capability to control the entire situation and deal with the Vampire. With a solemn expression, he brandished the scepter in his hand, drawing a mysterious pattern in the void before him as he chanted in a resonant voice, “God said, the sinful shall be punished!”
A mysterious fluctuation invisible to the naked eye shot out from the colorful sphere atop the white scepter, into the previously drawn mysterious pattern. Suddenly, an eye-blindingly bright beam of white light appeared in the pitch-black night sky, descending from the heavens and enveloping the entire Bloodsucking Bat Swarm. Accompanying the appearance of the white light beam was the faint sound of hymns all around.
Once enveloped in the white light beam, the Bat Swarm seemed severely affected. They appeared to lose the ability to fly and hung suspended in midair. However, they did not scream in agony and vanish into dust as the Cardinal had expected…
Suddenly, the massive Bat Swarm quickly condensed, and once all the bats had gathered at the center, they reverted back to my human form. Dressed in an ancient Suits, I stood on the ground, bathed in the sacred White Holy Light, with the sacred sound of hymns faintly audible in my ears. Looking at the white scepter in the Cardinal's hand, my eyes revealed a thoughtful expression.
This White Holy Light and the hymns channeled by the Sacred Artifacts should have been utterly destructive to Dark Creatures. Although I was shrouded in the Holy Light and hymns, there were no signs of suffering, and I merely stared blankly at the white scepter in the Cardinal's hand, seeming to recall something significant.
The Cardinal was puzzled as to why the Vampire shrouded in Holy Light was not screaming in agony. Yet, he was full of confidence in his own strength. Once again, he swung the white scepter, chanting, “Ugly heretic of darkness, receive the punishment bestowed by the Almighty True God!”
The moment his words faded, a Greatsword of white light miraculously appeared in the void above my head. Although this Greatsword was solid, it was just an illusion, composed purely of Holy Light, giving it an air of divine sanctity. The hilt pointed upward, and the blade pointed downward, firmly targeting me on the ground.
The Cardinal swung the white scepter, and the Greatsword slashed downward rapidly, striking at me on the ground.
Ever since I saw the white scepter, I had been lost in a daze, memories in my mind churning as if about to awaken. But the slashing Greatsword disrupted the process of memory recovery, causing my memories to vanish once again.
