Super God-Level Top Student
Chapter 977 - 373 Another Spring in the Human World_2

No choice, the things people create truly become addictive.

Especially mathematics.

It's easy to propose some vague definitions, but making them logically consistent is actually very difficult. Any remarkable proof process can leave people mesmerized. And as long as the proof is brilliant enough, flawless enough, a variety of prestigious mathematics awards will beckon.

The former superspiral algebra and transcendental geometry were just like this.

Though abstract, they were more convenient to understand.

This was because Qiao Ze used these two new mathematical tools to solve the Yang-Mills Equations and provided proof for the mass gap hypothesis.

Following this line of thinking and reading the related papers always brings sudden clarity.

But this time, the first principles of mathematical interweaving are preparatory papers for a grand unification. Although the problems to be solved are equally well-defined, there are no existing solved examples that serve as guides to understanding.

If we then add the fact that the proof process is even more abstract, and that finding evidence for interweaving patterns sometimes requires continuously increasing dimensions to explore, it makes the proving process for the numerous theorems in the paper exceedingly complex and obscure.

The vast majority of people certainly won't understand it.

In fact, in the entire Huaxia, there are probably only a handful of number theory experts who can follow Qiao Ze's reasoning and then applaud in admiration.

Of course, none of this really affects Qiao Ze.

No matter how impressive a paper is, there's always a delay after publication. So after publishing it, he peacefully prepared to celebrate the New Year.

Though not particularly interested in holidays, every New Year, Qiao Ze would allow himself a three-day vacation to stay home with Lu Xiuxiu.

However, to be honest, he wasn't really needed for company. This year, the Qiao Family was livelier than ever.

To better take care of Su Mucheng, the school assigned them a villa with enough rooms, and Ms. Su had already moved in.

Since Ms. Su was now living there, whenever Su Lixing was in Xilin, he too would stay at the Su Family house. Thus, the two families lived together for the New Year, which naturally made things much more lively.

Qiao Ze wasn't particularly sensitive to having two more people at home—after all, when he went home, it was only to catch some sleep.

But Lu Xiuxiu was genuinely pleased.

In the past, there were only two people at home, making the holidays feel quite lonely. Back then, the house was small, which wasn't as noticeable; but now, living in a big villa with so few people could even feel a bit spooky. With the in-laws now moved in, not only was the house brimming with life, there were also more people to talk to.

Especially with Dou Dou around, who could help resolve minor conflicts arising from differences in daily habits between the two families.

Naturally, Dou Dou's standing in the family grew stronger as a result.

Previously, Dou Dou had only enjoyed the doting affection of Lu Xiuxiu and Su Mucheng; now, Ms. Su's fondness was added to the mix. Of course, it could also be seen as the adults practicing on Dou Dou to prepare for how to care for the unborn twins still in Su's belly.

The three days of New Year's passed without much to remark upon.

Much the same as last year.

On New Year's Eve, the two families happily shared a festive meal. Afterwards, they gathered in the living room and watched the Spring Festival Gala on TV, chatting casually.

At this time, Dou Dou became the undisputed star.

The gala itself wasn't particularly entertaining, but Dou Dou transformed into an actor, performing various skits and acts to amuse the adults, reeling off a cascade of jokes and keeping the laughter flowing nonstop all evening. According to Ms. Su, it was a major loss for the Huaxia Spring Festival Gala that the director didn't invite Dou Dou to join the live broadcast and entertain the entire nation's audience.

Of course, Qiao Ze didn't hear those words, as by 10 PM, he had already taken Su to rest.

This was partly out of habit and partly because Su needed proper rest in her current condition.

Over the next three days, the Qiao Family was constantly hosting visitors.

Especially since Su Lixing was also staying here, the visitors weren't limited to professors from the school—they included various business and political dignitaries with connections to Xilin Licheng. Adding to this, Qiao Ze now had an official position as the inaugural director of the Artificial Intelligence Charter Bureau, making the house even busier.

Fortunately, most guests understood Qiao Ze's personality and knew visiting during the New Year meant competing for time with many others. Typically, they merely exchanged a few casual words and took their leave—not staying too long, as even the large living room of the villa couldn't accommodate such a crowd.

Over these days, Qiao Ze got used to being a sort of mascot, sitting in the living room and listening to Su Lixing warmly engaging with every visitor.

Luckily, Dou Dou helped keep the household running smoothly—serving tea, washing cups, cracking jokes—and genuinely maintained the joyous New Year atmosphere.

On the afternoon of the third day, Edward Witten and Peter Schultz showed up to visit Qiao Ze.

Edward Witten's residence, assigned by the school, was spacious enough—a layout of four bedrooms and two living rooms was overly roomy for one person—so he warmly invited Peter Schultz to stay with him. Not only could they explore Xilin together on holiday, but they could also discuss mathematical topics in their downtime.

Thus, the two had been acting as a duo throughout these days.

Meetings between mathematicians don't need much elaboration.

The conversation quickly turned to the topics that piqued everyone's interest most.

And so, they moved to Qiao Ze's study, where they chatted for the entire afternoon.

Effectively, it marked an early start to their work.

That evening, the two families warmly hosted the esteemed mathematicians for a home-cooked dinner. Returning to his study afterward, Qiao Ze sat in front of his computer and was just about to continue his work, when Dou Dou's database popped up a message about the Deep Sea Exploration program.

The first official test report for the carriers and explorers had been released.

The two carrier vessels used for the test had already returned to port for maintenance, bringing back a trove of precious test data. The majority of the explorers, however, had been consumed in the process.

This matter dated back to the evening of New Year's Eve.

In the preceding months, the Deep Sea Exploration testing project had already completed most of its data collection efforts, which included seabed topographical surveys, deep-pressure tests, extreme weather tests at sea, and various communication tests.

After the initial testing plans were concluded, on New Year's Eve, while the nation was illuminated by festive lights, the test systems launched a special operation called "Deep Sea Assassin."

No choice; even major holidays like this only apply to most people—there are always some carrying the burden forward.

The specific mission of the operation was targeted scrapping of an aging training vessel at sea. During the scrapping process, various surrounding vessels and submarines activated their full radar detection capabilities, and anti-submarine aircraft were deployed in the skies.

The carriers were tasked with accomplishing their goal: within the set timeframe, to carry out targeted demolition work on the training vessel without alerting nearby vessels. Simply put, the mission was to silently sink the ship under everyone's noses.

After completing the mission, the carriers were to withdraw with the explorers from the designated target area.

Though Deep Sea Exploration started as a legitimate scientific research project, using it for such a test seemed odd. However, the ultimate results proved that the test was fairly successful. At the cost of 200 explorer units, the mission was completed smoothly.

No surrounding vessels were disturbed during the process. The only blemish might be when the carriers, while retrieving the remaining explorers and diving, displayed an abnormally high submersion speed, far exceeding that of any natural organism, and ended up being observed by a patrolling submarine.

But this was only a minor flaw.

Given the autonomous operation of the network-free system, occasional imperfections were to be expected.

In terms of outcomes, it still performed excellently.

Especially since the new battery elements proved to be highly effective. While constrained by certain material properties ensuring stability, they could, when activated by special methods, produce considerable explosive power. Moreover, the chemical reactions maintained under seabed conditions—high temperatures and corrosive effects in saltwater—were impressive.

Sinking an 8,000-ton training vessel entirely took less than two hours. If more explorers were deployed, the time might have been even shorter.

Time efficiency wasn't Qiao Ze's main concern, though. Nor was he interested in the various parameters of the drill; as a scientist, his focus remained squarely on the science itself. For instance, the effectiveness of the targeted explosions in geological excavation under the seabed.

The road ahead is long.

Fortunately, the first phase of testing is complete. The second phase is about to commence, and Qiao Ze now believes expanding production lines will be necessary. After all, the Earth's oceans cover such a vast area, with countless unknowns awaiting discovery—especially with the assistance of communication satellites, Deep Sea Exploration should undertake even more tasks.
