Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts -
Chapter 921 - 921: Going Across the Mountain Range
"Incoming!" Sera shouted.
"Another wave coming from the southwest." Alavenya warned them.
They were standing next to a narrow cliff, so it would be hard for them to confront them head-on, especially with most aliens coming toward them being flying aliens.
They could see several other aliens that crawled on the ground, going across the terrain extremely quickly.
But the most troublesome one was definitely the flying aliens.
Nathan took out his assault rifle. "Selena, Flora."
"Yes." They replied in unison.
Selena summoned Risa, while Flora summoned her elemental spirits. All of them then began to launch a barrage of attacks, taking down one alien after another.
Although their killing spree was unstoppable, they couldn't unleash all their power easily. After all, they still had to cross this mountain for several days. It was the same as helping out in the defense of the fort. They had to be extra careful with their ena management.
If they got exhausted and the aliens came to attack them, it would lead to their defeat.
That was why the main attacker for the incoming attack was Nathan. Flora assisted him. Selena summoned Risa not to attack them, but to protect them, becoming their last line of defense.
Sera, Alavenya, and Noelle remained still.
Nathan alone personally hunted as many aliens as Flora with her elemental spirits, due to his efficiency.
However, it was not easy for the two of them to kill several hundred aliens by themselves, even though they managed to attack them at a distance. A lot of aliens managed to reach them.
Risa immediately took off and used her blood spears to kill the remaining enemies. In case they slipped past her, Noelle would be there to stop them.
But this mountain was much more dangerous than it was a few years ago when Duke Coline used it to visit Count Ashton.
After all, the number of aliens had increased drastically due to the volcanic eruption.
And that number didn't translate completely to the flying aliens. There were a lot more crawling aliens in the area. With this kind of treacherous terrain, a lot of them popped out from every nook and corner.
"Something is coming!" Fenrir warned them. "Below. On your spot!"
Fenrir was staring at Alavenya.
"!!!" Alavenya raised her eyebrows and hurriedly moved to the edge of the cliff, checking what was underneath.
She actually found a small ravine directly underneath them, which shouldn't be visible unless they went all the way to the edge to check it. There were at least fifty aliens climbing up the ravine and there might be some more underneath it.
"There are a lot. A few tens… if not a hundred." Alavenya reported out loud.
"Alavenya. Take care of them. Sera, you are to support her. Don't forget to fly back here once you're done!" Nathan hurriedly ordered while noticing Noelle's reaction. "Noelle. Get ready. Even if we can kill the flying aliens, there are still crawlers coming toward us. Once they're near, get ready to stop them. Conserve Duke Murmur's strength for now."
Noelle nodded.
"Let's go, Sera!" Alavenya grinned and jumped off the cliff.
When the crawlers saw them, they tried to reach her, but Alavenya skillfully stomped one of them in the face and used that alien as her footing.
She actually summoned the cat girl instead of other familiars.
Sera came with the fallen angel carrying her. She boosted Alavenya and the cat girl with her Synchronization. Meanwhile, Brunhild remained on the side as a bodyguard or a spear that would kill the aliens left behind by Alavenya.
After getting the boost, Alavenya and the cat girl split up. They stepped from one head to another while killing a lot of aliens in the process. Despite being stuck on this almost ninety-degree cliff, they managed to fight just fine.
They gradually descended. Of course, the beetle queen and the dark butterfly remained on the side to help Alavenya and the cat girl in case they fell.
However, with them blocking the advance of the crawlers, there was no way for them to distract Nathan.
It didn't take too long before Noelle joined the fight as the crawling aliens reached their position from a different direction after crossing such treacherous terrain.
With the help of her War horseman, they obliterated the incoming aliens easily.
Once everything had been taken care of, Selena flew around with Sasha's help, using her chains to gather the cores. They wanted to conserve their stamina, so it was best to have Selena, who was most adept with the chains, gather the core alone.
After overhearing Nathan's plan, Selena was willing to do anything, not that she was unwilling to do it if it went according to Nathan's plan. Either way, she became more unrestrained when it came to Nathan. She took care of the recovery process without any complaints and distributed the cores to everyone.
In the last couple of days, they had been experiencing such an attack multiple times per day. Even for Nathan and the others, it took a lot of their energy and mental strength.
However, as Nathan worried, there was not much happening on the mountain. Even though they were already halfway across the mountain, there was no hidden monster in the mountain, which worried him because the situation was getting worse because of his bad luck.
At the same time, this was also an opportunity.
The fact that there was no huge attack meant Nathan could continue killing aliens after aliens and using their cores to get stronger.
In the last couple of days, they had been besieged by close to twenty thousand aliens. It was a number that sounded unbelievable, but it was thanks to that number they got stronger on the way.
With a variety of juvenile class, mature class, and warrior class aliens, the total ena the group got was over 600,000 ena.
Nathan suggested splitting them evenly, convincing them by saying it was a part of his plan. But with Nathan's low absorption rate, he only got about fifty thousand ena.
