Chapter 282 - 282: Royal Demon Palace (15) - End

William climbed out of that pit like a true monster.

Jhen was laughing like a maniac.

"I told you he didn't stand a chance," she said. "Now it's your turn, Father—and then everyone else will perish. I'll be the new ruler of the demon island!"

That was her plan all along. First, eliminate the royal family. Then, harness the power hidden within the royal bloodline chamber. And only after that would she crush the noble families who had taken control of the island.

But achieving that goal wouldn't be easy. Unknown to the royal family, invaders had already landed on the island. They were trapped inside the palace, completely unaware of what was happening outside.

The royal king turned toward the pit, sorrow in his eyes. "We could have found another way. You know that."

"I don't want another way," Jhen snapped. "I want you all dead. Don't you get that? This is my wish and—"

She froze.

Her eyes drifted back to the pit. For a second, her smile vanished. She sensed something—an aura creeping up from the depths.

It wasn't supposed to be possible. There was no way William had survived that punch. And even if by some miracle he had, there was no chance he'd climb out. Not after the state he was in.

So, in her mind, it could only mean one thing: some ancient creature was waking up.

"Father," she said slowly, unease settling in her voice, "what do you have hidden underground? Did I just wake up a monster?"

The king's expression changed. His eyes widened in disbelief. He had just remembered something—something buried deep below.

Then it happened.

Claws emerged first—long, black, and razor-sharp—gripping the edge of the pit.

Then came the face.

But it wasn't William.

At least, not the William they knew.

His eyes glowed a furious, demonic red. His mouth was lined with jagged fangs like a shark's. His entire face had twisted into something monstrous—inhuman.

A true demon had risen from the underworld.

His entire body was made of demonic energy, but this time, it was different. The energy had grown so dense it looked like thick slime, taking the form of a towering, muscular, and terrifying creature.

William was at the center, well protected, and fortunately, he could still control that form. He feared losing control—this was something that had never happened to him before.

As his full body emerged from the pit, Jhen stared in horror, stepping back. Her hands trembled, and her breathing grew uneven.

It was clear—she didn't want to fight that creature.

"What monster is this, Father? Why is that thing buried here?" Jhen asked.

Then the creature opened its mouth, and a deep, guttural voice echoed out, drilling into the ears of everyone present.

"This monster has a name. It's William! You really thought you'd walk away alive after everything you did? Get ready to die, Jhen. This is what you get for betraying me!"

"Impossible!"

Jhen couldn't believe it. That creature—there was no way it was William. It felt like something ripped straight out of a nightmare.

She knew about demon transformations. Everyone did. But William's transformation was something entirely different—something far beyond what she thought was possible.

When the king saw William, he started laughing.

"He found the pool—hahaha. You're done for, Jhen. The real king has arrived."

The true king. That was what the current ruler said after seeing William.

Jhen couldn't believe how strong he had become. Before, she was far above him in terms of power—so how could a mere transformation change everything so suddenly?

But when William made his first move, she understood.

He charged at her on all fours, and every step he took made the ground tremble. His speed was absurd.

The moment he reached her, he slashed with his claws. It all happened too fast. Jhen tried to dodge but failed. Her shoulder and arm were torn off in a single strike.

"Aaaaggr!" she screamed in pain.

Blood poured from the wound. It would be difficult to recover from something like that—and the fight had only just begun.

After taking such devastating damage, Jhen could no longer maintain the chains that held Victoria and Kier. They snapped.

But neither of them moved—especially Kier. Victoria remained calm because she was William's friend. Kier, on the other hand, was already imagining himself suffering the same fate as Jhen.

And speaking of her—after that vicious blow—she tried to fight back. She used what little energy she had left to summon multiple chains that wrapped tightly around William's limbs.

They coiled around his long legs, arms, neck, and torso. He looked like a caged beast—trapped.

"These chains are tough! You won't break them so eas—"

Before she could finish, William shattered the chains right in front of her. The horror in her eyes was unmistakable.

Now, Jhen was certain—she was going to lose. Worse, she was going to die.

William walked toward her. "You fooled me well. But now… it's time for you to rest."

With one clean strike, he severed her head.

Jhen was dead.

After dealing with her, he turned to Kier.

"You gonna stay quiet, or are we gonna have a problem?"

Kier was trembling with fear—and he even pissed himself. William noticed the liquid running down his leg.

"I-I'll stay quiet! Please don't kill me," Kier begged.

William then deactivated his transformation and fell to his knees. His body was weak. But he had won—that was all that mattered.

Victoria rushed to his side to help him stand. Her face showed a hint of sadness.

"She betrayed us, but still… she took care of me for so long," Victoria said.

That was true. Jhen had taken care of her. They had a connection—there was no denying it.

"It'll be alright," William said. "Things will get better."

The king now had the chance to speak directly with William. He found it suspicious that someone from outside the island possessed a royal bloodline—and even managed to tap into the power of the pool tied to the First Demon's blood.

"Who exactly are you?" the king asked. "You're not from here, but you have the bloodline. Could it be that some of my ancestors or family live outside this island?"

For a moment, the king entered an existential crisis. He had rarely left the island—almost never, in fact—and now, he was beginning to wonder about the rest of his family.

"I swear, I have no idea," William replied. "I discovered this bloodline recently, and my parents seemed like normal humans without any of this. I need to find out more too."

And that was the truth. On Earth, William's parents weren't demons—at least, not as far as he knew.

"I see… Thank you for saving my family. It means a lot. Would you like to come inside? You look like you could use some rest."

"Sure."

Everyone entered the house where the royal family was staying. Only Jhen's body remained outside.

Her end was a little tragic—but she brought it upon herself.

After all, Jhen had only ever appeared to be a good person. Her kindness was a mask, used solely to advance her malicious plans.

William didn't feel guilty for what he'd done to her. No one from the royal family mourned her either.

And so, they stepped into the house.

Inside, they found the others who had taken shelter there—wounded, exhausted, but alive.

Now, it was finally time to talk. To speak openly about the invasion. To understand what had truly happened.

And more importantly, to forge a plan—to reclaim the Demon Island once and for all.
