Chapter 932: The Impressive Peter Brown
Chapter 932: Chapter 932: The Impressive Peter Brown
The most excited person right now might be Flora Nelson, as she hadn’t expected Peter Brown to top the entire grade. This was indeed a moment to be proud of.
Being so excited, Flora’s face turned red, her eyes filled with surprise as she exclaimed, "I can’t believe Peter actually came in first in the examination!"
As her words resonated, a teacher quipped, "Jonah, everyone is looking forward to seeing how you handle this hot potato!"
"Haha..."
Everyone burst out in laughter, and Christopher Williams seemed a little embarrassed. He turned his attention to Flora.
After a pause, Christopher answered, "It’s just one exam."
Nolan Smith lifted his head from Peter’s exam paper and said seriously, "I’ve looked at Peter’s paper. This is not a fluke. He did very well in the exam. If this performance is consistent, he could easily get into top-tier universities. Flora, Peter should be specially groomed in the top performers class."
At Nolan’s words, Flora’s expression changed abruptly.
Seeing Flora’s reaction, Nolan smiled and said, "Peter’s performance is undoubtedly connected to your work. If he succeeds, you definitely played a role in it."
"We should ask Peter himself. He has a penchant for skipping classes!", David Farley interjected after a thought.
A smile spread across Nolan’s face as he said, "As long as Peter can gain knowledge outside of class, skipping is not a big deal."
At this point, turning to Christopher, he continued, "Jonah, the bet may have been a joke, but as a teacher, I trust you will handle this situation gracefully. If you lose, you lose. There’s nothing wrong with admitting your mistake and apologizing."
"Principal, I understand," responded Christopher Williams, his tone bitter.
Principal Nolan Smith burst into laughter, declaring, "What a delightful surprise we’ve had today!"
By the afternoon class, Peter noticed a perceptible change in his classmates’ attitude towards him.
"What’s up?"
"Peter. You topped the class!" Elian Collins looked at Peter Brown with a complex expression. The whole class was dumbfounded by Peter’s first place; no one had expected Peter to be the actual topper.
Peter just chuckled, shrugging casually, "It’s normal."
"Damn!"
"Normal!"
The students in his class were rendered speechless, unable to explain Peter’s carefree demeanor.
Right at that moment, Flora Nelson walked in, followed by the Vice Principal in charge of teaching, Seven Hamilton, and Christopher Williams. They looked somewhat conflicted.
As they approached Peter, Flora smiled and said, "Peter, you really rose to the occasion with this exam, topping the entire grade. Congratulations!"
Smiling, Peter responded, "All credit to your good teaching, Miss Nelson."
Flora gave an embarrassed laugh, "It’s all because of your hard work really."
"Peter, I apologize."
Christopher stepped forward, his face turning somewhat red. He seemed hesitant to meet Peter’s gaze as he apologized.
The classroom fell silent. No one had expected Christopher to come and apologize.
Looking at a slightly embarrassed Christopher, ready to crawl into a hole, Peter decided to let it pass. He chuckled, "Mr. Williams, we were all just joking around. No hard feelings."
At Peter’s response, Flora gave Peter an approving look, thinking to herself that Peter’s transformation was truly huge. In the past, he might have taken the opportunity to tease Christopher.
Smiling, Mr. Hamilton addressed him, "Peter, considering you’ve secured first rank in the entire grade, you can easily get into the Top-performers Class. If you’re ok with it, you can start attending the class right now."
Peter glanced at Flora, then replied with a slight smile, "Principal, I think I’m good in this class. Miss Nelson is an excellent and passionate teacher. It’s under her guidance that I’ve made such great improvements. So, I’d rather not go to the Top-performers Class."
What?
All three teachers looked at Peter in surprise; similarly, so did the students in the class. Being able to get into the top performers class was everyone’s dream, yet now Peter didn’t want it!
Hamilton advised, "Getting into the top class will provide more opportunities for you to improve. You should consider it."
"No need, I’ve chosen Miss Nelson’s class."
At Peter’s firm conclusions, Flora was truly moved. She knew that she couldn’t have overridden the Principal’s decision, but Peter turning down an opportunity to be in the Top-performers Class, just to stay under her tutelage, was extremely gratifying!
Looking at Peter’s unwavering resolution, Hamilton presented him with a warm smile, "Alright, do as you please. Just make sure to work hard, wherever you are and try to get into a good university."
"I’ll put forth my best efforts."
Watching as the teachers exited the room, the students began to buzz with astonishment all at once.
"Peter! How could you pass up such a fantastic opportunity?"
"Peter, the Top-performers Class!"
"I reckon Peter just doesn’t want to leave our beautiful head teacher, haha."
Unperturbed by his classmates’ teasing, Peter assured them, "Although we might be part of a worse performing class, we still have to work hard. As long as we believe in ourselves, we can succeed!"
"Enough already, we have a weak base in our studies; there’s no way we’ll succeed."
"I do have a few study methods. If you trust me, follow my approach. Let’s put in our best efforts too!"
Now, it all depended on Peter, he thought. If anyone chose to follow him, he was ready to further assist them.
Listening to Peter’s words, Elian Collins paused before asking, "Do you think it’s still possible to catch up?"
"It all depends on whether all of you want to study. I will share all my strategies without holding back."
"Peter, since you managed to top the class, even if I can’t come first, I’m motivated to attempt university tests." Elian was the first to express his willingness to take Peter’s guidance.
"Do you indeed have a method?" a classmate named Landon Smith asked.
"I believe that through our hard work and my strategies, we can all succeed!"
After a while, seven students chose to follow Peter.
Peter looked at the others who didn’t join. With a resigned sigh, he admitted that they had given up on the opportunity themselves.
At this point, Landon suggested, "My family has a villa that’s vacant. I’ll get it cleaned up and we’ll convene there for Peter’s classes. Honestly, if I can get into university, I would love to. Let’s listen to Peter this time."
