Chapter 919: Chapter 919: The Worst Common Class (5th Update)
Peter Brown headed towards the classroom. Their class was considered a forsaken one in the school, consisting of 45 students who were basically selected from the underperforming students in the whole grade. Although Peter was considered an average student in the class, he was actually ranked quite low in the whole grade.
Since the students in their class came from diverse backgrounds, and some even had influential family backgrounds, the school basically allowed the class to run its course without intervening; as a result, nobody cared if they attended class or not.
As everyone else put it, all they needed was a high school diploma at the end.
When Peter entered the classroom, everything seemed very familiar. Only about ten students who wanted to learn were sitting there, chatting. When he looked at the teacher, the teacher appeared calm and didn’t say anything about Peter skipping class. After Peter reported in, the teacher let him enter the classroom.
He sat down in the last row and opened his bag, only to find that most of the textbooks inside were almost new, barely touched.
Peter sat with Zachary Taylor, but he didn’t know where Zachary had gone. There were no students nearby at the moment.
The teacher was an old teacher named Bailey Party who was about to retire. He taught politics, and it seemed as if he was teaching with his eyes closed, obviously not caring whether the students listened or not.
With a smile, Peter never thought he’d see such a day. He took out his Politics textbook and quickly flipped through it.
Surprisingly, his Golden Core Stage cultivation, made it incredibly easy to remember everything in the textbook after flipping through it just once.
A cultivator learning is truly a powerful thing!
For the rest of the time, the teacher lectured on his own, while the noise from the fellow students grew louder. Peter continued to flip through the books at an even faster pace.
Peter quickly flipped through all the textbooks in his bag, remembering what he could and quickly understanding the content that needed to be comprehended.
After flipping through all the textbooks, Peter sat there daydreaming. With only half a semester left before the college entrance examination, it wouldn’t be very difficult for him to get into a university, even a prestigious one.
Would he choose to live an unconventional life?
Peter kept asking himself this question.
He glanced at the numerous Lingcao plants growing inside the ring, which were growing very well. With so many Lingcao plants, his cultivation speed wouldn’t be slow.
What surprised Peter the most was that there was no rejection between him, a high-level cultivator, and Earth. The affinity between them was very high.
The class bell rang, and the homeroom teacher Flora Nelson entered the room.
At the first glance, Peter felt amazed. Flora was a newly assigned teacher, even taking charge of their class, which all other teachers were unwilling to lead. She was very dedicated to her work, and no one could fault her, but they all knew that even if they worked hard, they might not have a bright future.
Flora’s expression darkened as she entered the classroom and looked around.
"There will be a whole grade test tomorrow. I hope everyone will review the course."
"Ms. Nelson, whether we take the test or not makes no difference to our class, since our grades will still be at the bottom."
Rudy Jones, son of a leader, spoke up.
"Yeah, what’s the use of review? We’re just here for a graduation certificate. No one knows if they’ll even let us take the college entrance examination, which will drag down the school’s average score." Elian Collins, from a well-off family, chimed in.
Hearing the students’ remarks, Flora’s expression worsened. She said in a solemn voice, "Your attitude is the problem. There is still a semester left. If you work hard, there will be results. The Heavenly Dao rewards diligence."
However, the students didn’t care and kept chatting.
Seeing Flora’s almost tearful expression, Peter couldn’t help but feel amused. He never knew that this beautiful teacher could be so adorable.
Suddenly, Peter remembered something. The chaos caused by Zachary’s murder had caused a stir, and the county was reportedly furious. At that time, the Education Committee sent a working group to the school, and Flora, as the homeroom teacher, bore some consequences, which led to further repercussions later on.
Originally, Peter planned to have Zachary kill someone in the upcoming brawl and send him to prison. However, now that he saw Flora in this state, he suddenly changed his mind. Perhaps there was another way to deal with this!
Having talked about the test, Flora left the classroom, which immediately became lively again.
Peter glanced around the classroom and didn’t see Fiona Jackson.
Wasn’t this girl supposed to be going to class? Why wasn’t she here?
At that moment, Peter thought of some past incidents. One of his friends had hinted at something: that Fiona and Zachary were often seen together.
It was very possible that these two had already gotten together!
Peter wanted to laugh out loud at this point. His intelligence during his senior year was indeed lacking, as he couldn’t see through many things.
With that thought, Peter didn’t want to attend class anymore, so he packed up his bag and left the classroom.
Peter knew where everyone hung out for fun, so he quickly approached a video recording hall.
Without going in, Peter stood outside and sent his Divine Sense inside, immediately finding both Zachary and Fiona there.
He focused on listening to their conversation.
"Fiona, I gave you 100 dollars, so you have to bring Peter in to help us. With him joining us, we’ll have a better chance of winning."
"Zachary, I don’t think Peter wants to join this time. It’s tough. I can’t convince him with 100 dollars."
"Fine, 200 dollars. If that’s not enough, forget about it."
The two were actually discussing this issue!
Peter was somewhat speechless.
"Fiona, 1,000 dollars, and let me sleep with you again!"
Zachary’s voice came through again.
Sure enough!
Hearing this, Peter shook his head and no longer felt anything for Fiona.
Soon, the two continued to negotiate the price for sleeping together that night.
Peter couldn’t believe that such a seemingly pure girl would do this for money.
After learning the location where the two planned to spend the night at a hotel, Peter left.
