Chapter 601: Chapter 600: Exciting (10th Burst!)
"We will first develop our cultivation army and then manufacture our flying vehicles. By then, we should be able to withstand any attack."
Seeing Robert Williams speaking so earnestly, Peter Brown nodded lightly, "That’s precisely what I’ve been thinking. As long as we have a cultivation army that can compete with those who have reached the Foundation Establishment stage, we no longer need to worry about their arrival. Only then will we have the bargaining power."
"Exactly, I’m really worried that Alexander Carter and his team might have leaked the Earth’s location after their arrival. " Robert Williams said, deeply concerned.
"This is inevitable. Carter had already mentioned that the signal has been sent out. The Return-to-Earth Star will definitely arrive. I believe that the alien species who conduct interstellar trade with the Return-to-Earth Star inhabitants will soon know Earth’s location. Plus,... you know there are extraterrestrials from the Foreign Tribe on several other star planets in the Upper Heaven, they may attack Earth at any moment."
At first, Robert Williams didn’t consider all these factors. However, after hearing Peter’s explanation, he felt a chill down his spine. If what Peter said was true, Earth is in great danger. Without strengthening its defenses, Earth could be destroyed by the foreign tribes at any moment.
"Of course, your idea to establish contact with the inhabitants of Return-to-Earth Star is sound. If we manage to get their support, we’ll have an additional edge in resisting the foreign tribes," Peter added, trying to ease Robert’s worries.
"Yes, when the time comes, we’ll have to ask you to make the journey. You are the only one capable of doing so."
Peter had already planned to go, and he didn’t resent Robert’s request. He nodded slightly and asked, "Are you planning to replicate more of their type of flying vehicles?"
Robert Williams nodded emphatically, "Their flying vehicle is excellent. It’s not merely an Artifact Product; it’s mostly achieved through casting. Therefore, we should be able to replicate quite a few."
Peter said, "Indeed, from what I’ve seen, with the country’s capabilities, it should be possible. But there is an issue you need to consider. During a flight, the speed of the flying vehicle is very high, a mortal’s body may not be able to handle it."
Peter then shook his head, "Actually, I can tell that they are just starting their research on this type of flying vehicle. I believe there is a high rate of malfunction."
Robert Williams recalled how Alexander Carter’s flying vehicle was stuck on an island.
Robert then turned to Peter and said, "Peter, last time something occurred in Area 51 and the United States is currently in panic due to this incident. Later on, something seemed to have happened in the Arctic Nation too. Were they all researching on Biohumans?"
Seeing the way Robert reacted, Peter understood that they have begun to have suspicions about him.
After some thought, Peter explained, "Biohumans are essentially individuals who have had Demon Beast blood injected into them, enhancing their potential. Once enhanced, the human body will possess some abilities of Demon Beasts, making them much stronger than the average human. However, there are two unsolvable problems with this. First, it’s questionable whether the human body can handle the injection of blood. If it can’t, the individual will die due to the overwhelming power. Second, even if the injection is successful, the human body will mutate, with some of its organs transforming into those of a Demon Beast. Beyond these two issues, the main problem is that Biohumans can’t cultivate."
Peter had done extensive research on Biohumans. In his opinion, they are a wasted potential; Biohumans essentially ruin a person.
Robert listened quietly. After Peter finished, he said, "For the sake of the country’s strength and to provide room for development for more people, certain things have to be done. Once those are accomplished, we’ll have the power. Of course, we adopt the principle of voluntariness in this matter."
Despite Robert’s words, Peter knew there were still a lot of issues when it came to practical implementation.
Looking at Robert, Peter said, "From the development of Biohumans in the United States and the Arctic Nation, we can tell that this technology is imperfect and has a high mortality rate. You must be fully aware of these risks."
"We have no choice but to develop. With all the cultivation experts gone now, we won’t have any defensive power without a Biochemical Army. That’s why the development of the Biohumans is a matter of necessity."
From his words, Peter understood that the Higher-Ups had made up their minds and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Of course, Peter was only musing about this. Upon careful consideration, he thought that becoming a Biohuman might actually be a viable path for mortals. At the very least, once they become Biohumans, their chances of falling ill would decrease significantly. Additionally, with increased cultivation, the lifespan of a Biohuman would be longer, and they would not die after just one century or so.
Seeing Peter silent for quite some time, Robert said, "Peter, I understand your concerns regarding reckless utilization of this technique. Though I can relate to your concerns, we are already in a space exploration era, and there sadly aren’t that many cultivators on Earth. We can’t possibly develop in outer space, so the development of Biohumans is the only viable direction. Besides, even if they don’t become Biohumans, they will still die in a few decades. We should allow them more opportunities, and Earth should have a larger room for development."
"Let me think about it a bit more."
Peter did not immediately agree to this.
Robert pleaded, "Peter, the future of Earth is in your hands. Think about it, when our Earth enters the era of Biohumans and when our flying vehicles span the universe, what kind of prosperity will that be?"
"This is something I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The main reason why I suggested setting up a large army, including a Biochemical Army, was that some technical issues have not been solved yet. I am still researching, but once these issues are solved, I will share this manufacturing technique with the country. It won’t be long before it’s achieved."
In fact, Peter had better methods for evolutionary advancement. Biohumans are just a crude attempt at evolution. If Peter were to take charge, and if the Elixirs of the Sea Clan were to be used, humans may embark on an entirely new path of evolution.
At this, Robert’s eyes brightened, "Are you confident in solving these problems? If it’s feasible, this would bring a revolution for Earthlings."
Peter nodded slightly, "It should be achieved soon."
Robert exclaimed, "I must report this to the core leadership immediately!"
The two chatted a bit more, and as Robert was about to leave, he said, "Peter, you are a man of great power. Everything is up to you now."
Peter simply nodded, acknowledging Robert’s perception of the magnitude of the task at hand.
