Chapter 555: Chapter 554: Sit Down and Discuss Development
Whoosh...
Miles Mitchell’s shovel swung by with a strong gust of wind, but to everyone’s surprise, Peter Brown dodged the attack effortlessly, even though it was aimed right at his hand.
Peter’s right fist heavily landed on Miles’s right arm.
With just one punch, Miles’s shovel was knocked out of his hand, flying far away.
After the punch, Peter didn’t rush forward, but instead stood and looked at Miles, saying, "Do you want more?"
At this point, Miles was completely stunned, having been knocked to the ground. In the village, he was known to be the top martial artist, his family’s Hard Qigong extremely powerful, never before had he been at such a disadvantage.
Rubbing his right shoulder, Miles jumped back on his feet and said in a deep voice, "I didn’t expect you to be so skilled. Let’s do it again!"
While speaking, he pressed both hands downwards and took a deep breath, then threw a left-hook towards Peter.
"I’ll hit your left arm this time," said Peter calmly, throwing a punch as well.
People were now having a hard time understanding Peter’s technique, as he blatantly declares where he was going to strike.
Miles was clearly prepared this time. His left punch was a feint, the real attack coming from his family’s secret Yin Yang footwork. As he approached Peter, he leapt into the air, his right leg aimed straight at him.
Ah!
The onlookers gasped, eyes wide. They knew Miles had used his family’s secret technique, delivering a surprising blow that seemed difficult for Peter to block.
However, to their bewilderment, Peter quickly sidestepped the kick and counterattacked with a direct right punch.
Miles’s body flew through the air, struck by Peter’s heavy blow to his left arm.
Thump!
As the sound of the punch rang out, everyone saw Miles being knocked into the air by Peter’s punch once again.
After being thrown twice by Peter, Miles realized he had met his match. Struggling to sit up, he looked at Peter and exclaimed with a bitter smile, "I’m impressed!"
"Do you want to continue?" Peter asked nonchalantly, having found it easy to fight Miles.
"I’m no match for you," Miles admitted, "I’m willing to accept defeat and listen to you today."
Peter then turned his attention to Oliver Williams and asked, "Do you want to fight?"
Oliver replied, "Although I might not be your match, I still want to give it a try."
As he spoke, Oliver took off his coat, breathed in deeply, and his muscles swelled. He then said challengingly, "If you can handle my punch, I’ll submit."
"Fine!"
Peter agreed without hesitation, standing and waiting for Oliver’s move.
"Attack!"
Oliver roared as he threw his right punch with astonishing speed, a gust of wind following in its wake.
This time, Peter didn’t dodge. Instead, he raised his hand and threw a punch aimed directly at Oliver’s incoming fist.
Peter and Oliver’s fists connected.
There was no sound of any bones breaking, as Peter had not used his full strength and controlled his power. Even still, Oliver’s right fist swelled up from the impact, and he toppled to the ground.
Grimacing, Oliver looked at Peter and conceded, "I’m no match for you."
"If anyone else disagrees, step up. I can fight all of you at once if need be."
Peter glanced at the crowd around him.
Seeing Peter’s steely gaze, the villagers looked towards other skilled fighters in their village.
By now, everyone had realized that Peter was a true martial arts master, far beyond their league.
Oliver, a man who respected the outcome of a bet, understood that he and others stood no chance against Peter. Even if they teamed up, they would still struggle. Peter could have easily destroyed his right fist during their fight, but he had held back.
Enduring the pain, Oliver saluted Peter and said, "I, Oliver Williams, admit defeat and will listen to you. However, our village cannot survive without water!"
Only now did Peter have the chance to look at the injured villagers lying on the ground. Addressing the villagers from both sides, he said, "We can negotiate a solution. I’m the Deputy Town Chief, and since I’m involved in this matter, I’ll help everyone resolve it. Fighting and bloodshed won’t help, so let me tend to the injured first, and afterwards, we can discuss the issue of water. What do you think?"
Oliver glanced at Miles and said, "There are still some who may not listen."
Miles snorted, "Township Head Wang already said if you win, we will listen. Today, we’ll follow your lead."
"Alright, bring the injured from both sides to me. I learned some healing techniques during my time in the military. I’ll help treat their wounds."
The villagers, now respecting Peter’s strength, followed his instructions and brought over the injured from both sides.
Upon examining their wounds, Peter shook his head. Some of their injuries were so severe that even if they were taken to the County Hospital, their chances of survival would be slim.
Seeing the situation, Peter didn’t hesitate and began using silver needles to treat their injuries.
After stabilizing the most critical patients, Peter said in a deep voice, "As you can see, their lives are hanging by a thread, and even the County Hospital may not be able to save them."
In the heat of battle, no one had paid much attention to the injured. Now, seeing the severity of their wounds, everyone realized they had been too ruthless, nearly killing the other side’s village members.
The women from both sides started wailing, seemingly on the verge of fighting each other again.
Frustrated, Peter yelled, "Stop the commotion! If you keep it up, people will die for real! There’s still hope with me here."
As he spoke, Peter handed out several Healing Injury Pills to the injured.
Everyone watched as Peter tirelessly treated the wounded.
Witnessing Peter’s expertise, the villagers, all experienced fighters, understood that those with severe head injuries were basically beyond saving, even if they were taken to the County Hospital.
However, as they saw Peter’s proficiency with the silver needles and the effectiveness of the medicine he administered, the villagers noticed that the injured were gradually improving.
At this point, those with minor injuries could already stand, seemingly fully recovered.
This Deputy Town Chief was truly extraordinary!
The sudden appearance and mysterious abilities of the Deputy Town Chief left both villages intrigued.
