Chapter 510 - 509: Sea Dan

Chapter 510: Chapter 509: Sea Dan

"Peter Brown took out some common materials from the sea and explained their functions. Kian Harrison had no idea what Peter was doing and could only stare at him blankly.

Peter lit the fire and started heating in an ordinary pot.

Kian had no clue what Peter was up to and could only jot down everything Peter said.

An hour later, the materials in the pot had fully merged.

At this point, Peter activated his True Qi, and with a special pill formation technique, the liquids in the pot instantly fused and solidified.

"Solidify!"

As Peter cast his hand seal again, one or two black-pills had formed within it.

Looking at Kian, Peter asked, "Did you understand?"

Kian nodded.

Peter went over and patted Kian on the shoulder, "Do this tomorrow."

Without packing up his things, Peter headed for the hills.

Peter had just experimented with a refining method for Sea Dan. This simmering method he used wasn’t really special; the hand seals were basic ones any alchemist would know. Kian should have known them too. Peter had taught him the order of the simmering process, but he wasn’t sure if Kian could replicate it.

Peter had merely given him some instruction; it was mostly up to Kian’s comprehension.

Once Peter had left, Kian was left staring at the black elixir in the pot, completely stunned.

Kian had never seen such an alchemy method before; it was certainly an eye-opening experience today.

Is this an elixir?

Kian rushed over, picked up the elixir, and sniffed it. After some time, he looked shocked and whispered to himself, "This is really an elixir!"

Suddenly, Kian’s eyes shone, and he swept across the space with a fishbone, put away the pot, the furnace and other things, and ran back to his home.

Today’s events had given Kian hope.

Upon returning to his dilapidated house, a pure woman greeted him. Seeing Kian, she called, "Brother Kian."

"Sophie, we have hope!"

Kian’s voice was trembling slightly.

"Can you level up?"

The woman called Sophie looked at Kian with surprise.

"I don’t know, but we have hope. Quick, get all our Sea Coins."

Sophie looked at Kian anxiously. "Brother Kian, are you okay?" She knew the situation. She knew Kian and Henry O’Donnell had become sworn enemies, and if Kian didn’t level up by tomorrow, Henry would likely come to pressure her.

Thinking of this, Sophie sighed secretly. If that were the case, death was inevitable.

Sophie quietly sighed again as she took out all the Sea Coins they had.

At this point, Kian had taken the Sea Coins and dashed out again.

Alas!

Sophie watched as Kian vanished into the distance, a tinge of sadness in her heart. She was fully aware of Kian’s situation. It didn’t bear much hope—everybody knew that not everybody could learn alchemy successfully, and Kian’s ineptitude for such a long time was proof of his inability.

After a while, she saw Kian rushing back.

Watching the materials that Kian bought back, her face revealed even more of her bitter smile.

However, Kian didn’t think much about it. He was a diligent and determined person. Having seen Peter’s simmering technique, he was confident he could replicate it.

He placed all types of materials into the pot and performed all the hand seals Peter demonstrated.

Failure!

Failure!

Failure!

Several pots in a row were all failures.

Staring at the charred waste in the pots, Kian sat there deep in thought, contemplating over the process Peter carried out. After considering the process for a while, he tried again.

That was close! I almost succeeded!

This time, there were some effects. Though there still seemed to be some issues.

Kian started to ponder once again.

Seeing that Kian was covered in soot, Sophie gently wiped him down with a towel. "Rest for a bit, don’t rush," she said softly.

Kian, seemingly oblivious to her words, was staring intently at the materials.

So, that’s the issue!

Suddenly, Kian had an epiphany. He had made a mistake while placing the materials; the order was completely different from that followed by Peter. Furthermore, he also made an error controlling the fire’s intensity.

Having recapitulated Peter’s technique again in his mind, Kian started simmering once more.

He placed the materials exactly according to Peter’s method, pouring his heart and soul into it.

"Solidify!"

When the simmering was nearly done, Kian executed the hand seals with the little True Qi he possessed, and he channeled it into the pot.

Although the True Qi was weak, it was still enough for forming the elixir.

After casting the hand seals, Kian could feel the medicine liquid solidifying under his True Qi’s influence.

"Solidify!"

At this point, he saw a black elixir forming inside the pot.

Turn off the fire!

As he turned off the stove, all of Kian’s attention was on the black elixir.

At this point, Sophie also looked at the black elixir in the pot in surprise; her face showed a mix of shock and joy.

"Brother Kian, this is an elixir!"

Sophie was somewhat dazed, mainly excited, though and asked again hesitantly.

With slightly trembling hands, Kian reached into the pot to take out the elixir.

He looked at it again and again. Then as if he’d gone crazy, he ran into the inner chamber and took out an alchemy tester, placing the elixir on it.

As he put the elixir on it, his heart pounded uncontrollably.

An elixir!

It is really an elixir!

The readings of the alchemy tester showed that he had truly concocted a completely new type of elixir.

Looking at the elixir analysis on the alchemy tester, Kian was even more astonished. His elixir wasn’t a typical injury healing pill, but a Vitality Pill, an elixir capable of enhancing True Qi—suitable for people at the Qi Refining First Layer.

At this point, Kian held Sophie in his arms and choked out, "We did it, we did it!"

Sophie was just as excited, "Is this really an elixir?"

Kian held Sophie tightly and rushed into the inner chamber.

The series of events that day released Kian’s long-suppressed emotions, giving him a strong sense of relief.

Feeling the man’s excitement, a joyful smile appeared on Sophie’s lips as she held Kian even tighter.

All this while, in the ruined house, both of them were immersed in their exhilaration.
