Chapter 411: Chapter 410: The Matter is Quite Big
After Peter killed Samuel Carter, he went into the room and realized the Feng Shui pattern used by Samuel was incredibly powerful. The abundant evil energy from the surrounding area had all been channeled into the room, leaving Peter with a chilling sensation as if his whole body was about to freeze.
It had been a long time since Peter had used Body Refining Technique, but now he felt waves of evil energy infusing into him, each pore of his body undergoing a kind of refining process.
Although Peter knew that Samuel had used the evil energy of the dead to refine his body, which was wicked, he found that he could not leave even if he wanted to. The Feng Shui Formation here was originally centered around Samuel himself. The Qi Mechanism was all his own, but with his death, the Qi Mechanism changed, and mysterious energy targeted Peter in an onslaught.
The power of the Feng Shui Formation was surprising to Peter. Unable to use his True Qi, Peter had to rely on his own Body Refining Technique to resist.
Then, Peter could feel his meridians continuously being refined by the evil energy.
After 2 hours, Peter finally dispelled the evil energy inside the room.
Upon examining his meridians, Peter felt a clear difference—they not only possessed more resilience but had expanded by more than twice their original size.
Peter now thoroughly realized the main purpose of Samuel’s Feng Shui Formation: to expand the meridians first and then use the enlarged meridians to attract spiritual energy, naturally accelerating the cultivation process.
Inspecting his meridians and Spiritual Roots, Peter felt more confident about his cultivation path, considering this as an unintended gain.
Samuel didn’t have any particularly valuable possessions, not even a storage bag. Peter found some average materials and quite a bit of money in the mansion.
Peter thought for a moment, packed a few things he needed into a ring, and walked out of the house.
Outside, he found the area swarming with police.
"Don’t move!"
As soon as he reached the door, a police officer holding a megaphone issued a loud order.
Peter looked at these heavily armed police officers, decided not to trouble them, and tossed over an identification card issued by his department.
The leading police officer examined Peter’s ID, his face changing color and quickly making a call.
Peter called Oscar Wilson and said, "I am in a county in Southampton and I need your help."
After Oscar asked for the location, he said he would arrive soon.
While Peter was making the call, the police leader had also made his call. However, he still kept a stern face and said, "We can’t verify your identity. Please hand over your weapon and accompany us to the station."
Peter was not pleased. He said in a deep voice, "A serious event has occurred here, what are you trying to pull? You don’t even know what’s happening here!"
"We received reports from the public that you’ve killed several people here. You need to come clean about this."
Peter thought for a moment, nodded slightly, and said, "Okay, I’ll go with you."
"Handcuff him!"
The clearly leading person ordered solemnly to his subordinate.
Peter initially thought of cooperating, but was not pleased when they wanted to handcuff him without knowing the situation. He said in a deep voice, "You have no right!"
"Put your hands up or we will shoot!"
Peter sneered, his body flashing and disappearing in front of these police officers.
Looks like he wasn’t as well-known as he thought!
Leaving the police behind, Peter waited nearby.
Shortly after, he heard the sound of helicopters in the sky. Soon, several helicopters arrived.
Seeing Oscar and his men arrived, Peter revealed himself again.
"Arrest the felon!"
Upon seeing Peter reappear, the police leader continued to give orders, obviously unaware of the situation.
Even before Peter said anything, he had already fired at Peter.
Catching the bullet effortlessly, Peter’s eyes were filled with malice. With a twirl of his hand, he threw the bullet back, grazing past the man’s ear.
If Peter had intended to kill him, the man would have been long gone.
By this point, Oscar and the others had seen Peter. Oscar ran over and asked, "Peter, what happened?"
Normally, the military couldn’t be casually deployed. Oscar had hurried over, so Peter knew that he must have received instructions from The Higher-Ups.
Looking over the followers, Peter said, "I believe there will be a huge murder case here. There can’t be few dead people, and it involves cultivators. You’d better report it to The Higher-Ups."
At this moment, several figures that looked like leaders approached, looked at Oscar, and the leader among them said solemnly, "Mr. Carter was a major investor in our county and has greatly contributed to our development. Now that he’s dead here and this man is a suspect, even if you are the military, you can’t shield him. I am from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and I hope that you don’t interfere with our Investigation."
Peter pointed at his card and said, "Check my ID, I’ll take over this case."
"What?"
The leader took Peter’s card, glanced at it and then at Oscar, saying grimly, "We hope you will give us an explanation."
Peter also said gravely, "It’s not me who needs to give you an explanation, but you who needs to give one to the public. Since you are here, follow along and send your police to follow me."
Despite not aware of the specific situation, Oscar had received instructions to follow any order given by Peter.
Looking at the onlookers, Peter said to Oscar, "Put a guard on. This case won’t be easy."
After putting up the guard, Peter led the police officers inside.
As Peter opened up the mechanisms of the villas one by one, the faces of the followers changed color at the sight of the skeletal remains and rescued women. Some leaders from the county almost collapsed on the spot.
Peter didn’t bother with them and continued to investigate each villa with the stunned officers.
When the work was done, Peter looked at Oscar and said, "They are not capable enough to handle this. You better report the situation here to The Higher-Ups."
Although Oscar had been on the battlefield, the sight of the situation left him pale. He kept nodding and saying, "It’s a big case, a big case."
