Peter Brown actually wasn’t a meddlesome person. Seeing that the girl had been rescued and that the middle-aged woman claimed to be her mother, he didn’t want to pursue the case any further and decided not to get involved.

Peter had changed his mindset after killing so many people, realizing that the world was a place where the weak were prey to the strong. Could he handle that many things on his own?

The police never questioned whether the woman was the girl’s mother, and since it was their family matter, Peter intervening would only cause more trouble for himself.

Peter already had plenty of troubles and didn’t want to get involved in this one. Although he could see that the young man named Jack Carter was a bad person, what could he do about it? The girl’s family didn’t want to press charges, and Peter didn’t want to interfere in the case.

Director Wilson, who shared the same family name as the woman, praised Peter for his bravery and personally escorted him outside of the police station.

Peter could only express his discontent inwardly at Director Wilson’s actions.

After leaving the police station and noticing that the sky was already bright, Peter abandoned his plans to rest for a while.

Enjoying the rare serenity, Peter decided to take a walk around the area.

Peter had been extremely busy lately with various events happening. So many things had happened in the past few months that it felt like a lifetime’s worth. He never imagined things would turn out this way.

As he walked down the streets without being followed, Peter came across a large supermarket. He didn’t care about others’ opinions and started buying whatever he thought might be useful.

Only after his stay on the Knowledge Sea did Peter realize that no matter how many items he had in his Ring, it was still not enough.

Peter’s purchase was so big that it attracted the attention of the supermarket owner, who personally accompanied him while shopping. Later, the owner arranged for a vehicle to transport Peter’s purchases to an empty space outside the city, before leaving with a puzzled expression.

As soon as no one was around, Peter quickly stored all his purchased items in the Ring.

Now he had lots of things, and could live a comfortable life even in a desolated place!

Peter felt very content thinking about all the items he had collected in his Ring.

After finishing his task, Peter headed back towards County Town.

This time, Peter wanted to walk leisurely, enjoying a relaxed stroll on the streets.

While strolling, Peter arrived at the County Hospital and suddenly remembered the girl. He heard that she was admitted to this hospital and decided to check if she had been saved.

Although Peter didn’t want to get involved, he couldn’t shake the image of the girl’s desperate stare from his mind. He felt as if an emotional barrier was holding him back.

He thought to himself, "Fine, I’ll just have a look. If I can help, I might as well do it."

After asking a few doctors, Peter arrived at a room.

As soon as he got to the door, he could already hear a fierce argument going on inside.

"You ungrateful brat, will you listen to me or not? Your mother won’t let me discipline you!"

"Just kill me then!"

It was the girl’s voice, now sobbing out loud.

"What’s wrong with being with Young_Wei? Was it easy for me to raise you after I picked you up?"

"You only care about yourself! Jack Carter is scum, he’s a gangster!"

"Hmph, isn’t it just being his woman? What’s the big deal? Are you going to listen to me or not? I’ll beat you to death, you wretched girl."

Hearing the quarrel between the mother and daughter, Peter understood that the girl had been raised by the middle-aged woman, who now wanted to send her off to be with Jack Carter.

While Peter was listening, he heard a loud thud followed by the middle-aged woman yelling, "You really want to die, huh? I raised you for so many years, and you can’t even give me anything in return?"

When Peter went to see what happened, he saw the girl holding a small knife, poised to stab herself in the heart.

Without thinking, Peter dashed forward and snatched the knife from the girl.

"You!"

"It’s you again!"

Both women were surprised to see Peter again.

"I came to check on your injuries," said Peter.

"Get lost! Who asked you to save me?" the girl shouted angrily.

Peter touched his nose and said, "Let’s talk about things calmly, okay? Why do you have to be so dramatic about dying? What’s the point?"

"It’s none of your business!"

This time, both women yelled at Peter.

Peter Brown wasn’t angry, and said, "I am really curious to know more about the situation. Why didn’t you marry Jack Carter? He seems to be quite a wealthy and influential person."

Now, Peter was in a good mood as he had benefited quite a lot from the sea this time. As he saw the situation with this family, he wanted to learn more about it.

Peter Brown shook his head as he stared at Jack Carter’s behavior; the boy seemed unremarkable, but he was essentially blocking all the girl’s available paths.

With that, he walked away with his men.

The girl was adamant in her refusal.
