Chapter 363: Chapter 362: Trading Market
Guiding Peter Brown was a young man called Omar Brown. He was a persuasive speaker and along their journey, he introduced Peter to the trading market of the Kunlun Sect. It was then that Peter learned about the particulars of this place.
Being a grand sect, the Kunlun Sect was obviously a very strong faction. Hosted by the Kunlun Sect itself, their trading market was operational every day, with a larger-scale trade event taking place every six months.
At first glance, Peter spotted numerous stalls and many people setting up street stands. Many people simply laid out a cloth and placed only a single item for display.
Seeing Peter observing, Omar said, "The cultivation resources on Earth are extremely scarce and hard to find. Not many people have many items on hand."
Then he turned to Peter and added, "By the way, this area is specifically allocated for trading by our faction. There’re many inns here. If you choose to stay, it’ll cost you 10 million Hua currency per day."
"What?" Peter stared at Omar in astonishment, shocked by what he had just heard.
"Peter, in all fairness, the Kunlun Sect is being quite generous. Many are willing to come here and cultivate for a while when they can’t find a decent place," Omar continued.
Breathing in the spiritual energy around him, Peter silently agreed. The concentration of spiritual energy here was incomparable to the outside world, even if he was to set up a Spiritual Gathering Array, it might not reach this level of richness.
"So, many people live here?"
"Quite a few, yes."
"Okay, let me have a look around before deciding," Peter said, understanding what Omar implied - that staying would cost him.
"Peter, if we didn’t charge, too many people would take advantage of the situation and the spiritual energy here wouldn’t last long. The only sect that would put up with such a situation is us, the Kunlun Sect," Omar explained.
Peter simply nodded and made his way to the market.
There were many street vendors, as well as many customers browsing the goods.
The whole market was bustling with activity, with haggling and product pitches echoing throughout. It seemed like a typical farmers’ market.
"Your Celestial Crystal Stone is indeed a good item, but only if you can actually make use of it," chimed a voice.
"Whether I can use it or not, I’m setting it here to exchange for something I want. What’s it to you?"
"I’ll exchange a stalk of Blue Spirit Grass that you can use. It’s more valuable to have items that are useful. This stone is not as good as a stalk of Lingcao."
...
Hearing the dispute, Peter turned his gaze towards the squabbling duo.
"Peter, there are frequent disputes here. It’s nothing serious." Omar told Peter.
However, something stirred in Peter’s heart and he quickly walked over.
Upon closer inspection, he confirmed that the vendor was indeed a young man, possessing the cultivation base of Qi Refining Second Layer, engaged in a dispute with a middle-aged woman.
The woman was evidently shrewd, at about the Qi Refining third level. However, a man who appeared to be at a Qi-refining sixth layer was standing behind her.
At a first glance, Peter’s breath hitched, his eyes locked onto an inconspicuous-looking stone on the young man’s stall.
A Void Stone!
It really was a Void Stone!
To Peter’s confusion, not a single person seemed to take notice of the Void Stone.
Void Stones were usually found in tandem with Celestial Crystal Stones. Whereever there were Celestial Crystal Stones, there should be Void Stones.
He unexpectedly found a Void Stone, which was even rare in Cultivation World right here.
He must get it!
Peter composed himself, casually picked up the Void Stone and asked, "What kind of stone is this?"
The young man glanced at it casually and said, "I found it together with this Celestial Crystal Stone. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s really hard."
Pretending to examine it closely, Peter said, "I can’t see anything special about it."
At that moment, the middle-aged woman asked the young man again, "So, are you exchanging or not?"
"No, I want talismans. If you have a talisman, we can trade."
"A talisman!"
Peter was initially worried about being unable to exchange something valuable for the stone. But upon hearing the young man was after a talisman, he perked up and said, "How about this stone? I might find it useful for research. I’m currently lacking some hard material."
The young man scrutinized the stone and said carefreely, "If you have a talisman, any one of them will do."
Pulling out an Earth Escaping Talisman, Peter said, "This is an Earth Escaping Talisman."
Upon hearing it was an Earth Escaping Talisman, the young man snatched it out of Peter’s hand, pushed the stone into Peter’s palm and said, "The stone is yours now."
He seemed rather anxious
Heart pounding in joy, Peter quickly tucked the stone into his storage bag.
Upon arriving here, Peter had purposely attached a storage bag to his belt to keep the fact that he had a Space Ring a secret. Now, he’d successfully concealed the stone.
It was only then that he truly relaxed.
Just then, a Daoist priest emerged, guiding Tobia Armstrong who was hurrying along.
"Where’s the stone?" The middle-aged Daoist priest looked at the young man.
"What stone? I won’t exchange the Celestial Crystal Stone for anything other than attack talismans," the young man replied perplexedly.
"The stone that was placed here," The Daoist insisted.
"The stone?," the young man turned to Peter and said, "He traded for it."
Tobia turned to look at Peter.
The middle-aged Daoist asked, "Dear friend, could you please take it out for us to have a look?"
Peter smiled and replied, "Do I have to present everything I obtained in the market to you?"
Tobia hurriedly interjected, "Peter, you’ve misunderstood. My disciple likes to study ancient scriptures, and we thought the stone looked like a Void Stone."
"What’s a Void Stone?" The young man asked curiously as well.
Peter smiled subtly and asked, "What’s the rule here?"
Just as the middle-aged Daoist was about to reply, Tobia smilingly said, "Whether it’s a Void Stone or not, it doesn’t matter to us now, and we don’t have the ability to refine it."
Turning to Peter, he nodded and said, "Peter, you’ve always been a man of opportunity."
After speaking, he turned and saw the middle-aged woman, "So, Daoist Dame Wood Fish is here too!"
The middle-aged woman made a salute and said, "Greetings, Sect Leader. I’ve been negotiating the matter of the Celestial Crystal Stone."
After understanding the situation, Tobia took a Sword Talisman and handed it to the young man, "I’ll exchange this on behalf of Dame Wood Fish, how does that sound?"
The young man’s face lit up as he received the Sword Talisman, he said cheerfully, "Suit yourselves, anyways, the exchange has been made."
Turning to Peter, he said, "You have an eye for stones. I guess I misjudged earlier, but the Earth Escaping Talisman you gave me was very useful. I didn’t lose out."
Finishing his sentence, the young man laughed and left.
The woman took the Celestial Crystal Stone and thanked Tobia, "Thank you, Sect Leader. This Celestial Crystal Stone will be very useful for me."
