Chapter 278: Return to Green Water Village
Chapter 278: Chapter 278: Return to Green Water Village
Gazing at the serene rural village in the distance, watching the lingering smoke from the chimneys, and seeing the silhouettes of villagers carrying hoes on the mountain paths, Peter Brown’s mind suddenly became tranquil.
This kind of environment is truly wonderful!
Peter’s initial idea was just to step out and explore, but after doing so, he discovered that many things did not conform to his will. He had become a central figure to such an extent that he couldn’t even secure some peace and quiet.
Peter really didn’t want to get involved in the chaotic affairs of the outside world. Such things held no significance for him. He understood that his path was one of cultivation, constantly upgrading his abilities and striving towards higher realms of achievement.
Peter didn’t want to meddle in the current issue anymore, with the Feng Shui Battle ceasing due to William Harrison’s death. It wasn’t really about winning or losing. As for the aftermath, Peter had even less desire to be involved.
After making a phone call to Heidi Jones about the restaurant development, Peter drove out of the provincial city alone, returning to Green Water Village without informing anyone.
The villagers here had never watched television and naturally had no way of knowing about events in the outside world. Only here could Peter find the tranquillity he sought.
Now that he was well-known, Peter had no intention of going back to school. After all, his studies revolved around modern medical knowledge. As long as he had books, self-study was sufficient.
Best to continue his cultivation in Green Water Village!
The moment Peter appeared at the village entrance, the villagers noticed his arrival and someone quickly came up to greet him.
"Boss Wang, you’re back?" Luke Smith, carrying his hoe, greeted him cheerfully.
"Ah, Peter, you’re finally back," Alvin Brown quickly came over the moment he received the news. His face glowed with excitement as he looked at Peter.
"Grandpa, how are things in the village now?"
"What could be wrong? We’ve done everything you asked. The land you rented is all sorted out, and we’ve taken care of some constructions. We’re now waiting for you to guide us further."
"Peter, we’ve planted the herbal medicines you wanted us to collect in the fields. You should take a look and see if there’s anything that needs to be improved."
Ben Taylor, dressed in a crumpled suit and wearing a pair of mud-caked leather shoes, also came to greet him.
Many familiar villagers rushed over to greet Peter Brown.
Lana Jackson and Lily Jackson ran over from an unknown location. Both girls were filled with joy. They were red-faced and panting from running, their chests heaving with each breath.
"Peter!"
Lana looked at Peter with sparkling eyes.
"Grandpa, I plan to stay here for a while since I’m back today. Could you help me arrange a dinner for everyone in the village tonight?"
"Hehe, sure, why not? Jeremiah Richards happened to catch a wild pig in the mountain. I’ve reserved it for everyone."
"Boss Wang, I have some chickens at my place. Do you need them?"
"Yes, bring whatever you have. Every villager must join this feast tonight!"
Peter felt energetic. Farmers are always full of vitality when they are close to the land.
Knowing that Peter was affluent, Alvin Brown was delighted to hear about the feast. He immediately called out loudly, telling the women to prepare for the dinner.
"Peter, your house is almost ready. Would you like to come and see it?"
Lana whispered to Peter.
Peter had already noticed the house at the top of the hill on his way here. After several renovations, the place had transformed entirely. A courtyard house had been built on a patch of land where the spiritual energy was most abundant.
The villagers were rather clever. According to Peter’s blueprint, they had constructed the bamboo house quite splendidly.
After receiving his agreement, Lana and Lily led Peter towards the courtyard house.
The villagers merely laughed without saying anything when they saw the Jackson sisters. They understood that the sisters would probably be staying with Peter Brown. They couldn’t help but feel envious. The Jackson sisters were really moving up in the world, working under such a handsome and wealthy boss.
Some of the married and unmarried women watched Peter’s retreating figure with a trace of resentment.
"Peter, we clean here every day," commented Lily as soon as she entered the courtyard. She was as comfortable as she would be in her own home, eagerly telling Peter about the situation inside.
Indeed, the place turned out to be spotless from daily tidying.
"Peter, the only issue here is water. It’s not easily accessible because we’re halfway up the mountain," Lana pointed out.
Peter smiled and responded, "Everything will be okay. Some things can be improved over time."
Inside one of the larger bedrooms, Peter saw that everything, including the bed, was all arranged. Only the blankets and similar items were missing.
"Peter, my mother said she wanted to consult with you about the bedding. So we haven’t bought anything yet."
Looking at the girls, Peter thought for a moment before conversing, "You two are the people I trust the most. There are certain things I would like to share with you. I have some exceptional abilities."
Lana immediately laughed, "We know. You can banish ghosts. Otherwise, the evil ghost in the mountains would still be causing trouble. The villagers have all been discussing it privately. They all believe that you can control the unpleasant spirit roaming the mountains."
Hearing these words, Peter became more at ease. He chuckled and said, "Correct, besides that, I also have a technique which allows me to carry a lot of things on me."
While he was talking, Peter took out the bedding from his ring.
Seeing Peter demonstrate this technique, the sisters stared with their eyes wide open, amazed.
"Peter, we promise we won’t tell anyone about your abilities!"
"Peter, can we at least tell my mother?" Lana hesitated before asking.
"You can tell your mother, but make sure she doesn’t disclose it to anyone."
"Peter, you’re the best!"
Lily immediately jumped into Peter’s arms, hugging him tightly, then blushing she released her grip.
Watching the two girls making the bed and folding the blankets, Peter’s mood improved. It was then he realized that this was the life he longed for. The hustle and bustle of the city was of no real benefit to him.
After stepping out of the room, Peter looked around, contemplating possible improvements. After a while, he came up with a new idea. He was a cultivator and did not necessarily need to stick to traditional methods. He could simply transform the place into a cultivation-friendly environment.
