Chapter 2211: Chapter 2209: A Great Battle Is About to Unfold
The Demon Clan is seemingly ready to gamble everything this time. For them, this war against humanity is a matter of life or death, and they have no choice but to maneuver carefully, planning everything in utmost secrecy.
The Saints themselves have joined the battlefield, even using cell phones with shielding celestial mechanisms. In their view, having employed so many covert strategies alongside high-level preparations, humans would, at most, perceive this as a minor skirmish. Unbeknownst to humanity, however, the Demon Clan’s quasi-saints and void saints have been secretly mobilized from various regions.
For a brief moment, Peter Brown found himself shocked by the scale of their plans. It truly was a bold gamble — the Demons were staking everything on this all-out victory. If successful, they would gain vast swathes of territory, and by leveraging the surge in luck, their quasi-saints might rapidly advance to become Saints.
Peter only uncovered glimpses of the Demon Clan’s strategy through the Faith Network. He had never expected them to use luck as a mechanism to facilitate the emergence of Saints.
This was a method Peter had never heard of before.
After thorough investigations via the network, Peter gradually understood. This approach wasn’t entirely impossible; if one side can suppress the other’s power and seize a domain as significant as the Land of the Sage, then, supported by immense faith energy, there truly is a chance for a quasi-saint to become a Saint.
Currently, the Demon Clan had lost some ground to the Human Clan, causing their luck to be suppressed. If they win this battle, their luck would undergo a complete reversal. With such a turnaround, it’s entirely plausible that they could leverage it to shift the tides in their favor.
The Demon Clan had no idea that Peter was capable of investigating all their moves. While they continued their secret deployments, they initially made an overt maneuver, dispatching one hundred quasi-saints. However, Peter uncovered that they had secretly drawn in quasi-saints from all directions, amassing a staggering total of five hundred.
Peter was astonished; this was the first time he realized that a world could harbor so many quasi-saints.
Yet, upon reflecting further, Peter could understand. These quasi-saints had always been dispersed across the Demon Clan’s diverse territories. Spread thin, their presence didn’t seem overwhelming. Only after gathering them in one place did their sheer numbers become apparent.
The Demon Saints were employing shielding celestial mechanisms, clearly aiming to win this war in the shortest possible time. After defeating the Human Clan, they would push into the western Human territory while simultaneously reclaiming their eastern holdings, thus absorbing back these lands under Demon rule. There, fueled by surging faith energy and backed by the mass of quasi-saints, their luck would rapidly recover. This restored luck could then catalyze the quasi-saints into attaining sainthood. Furthermore, the Demons intended to similarly promote one or two saints from this process. If even two new Saints emerged, the Demon Clan’s entire situation would change fundamentally.
Peter couldn’t help but admire the Demons’ plan. Their vision was formidable — if they succeeded in adding two Saints while everyone was still reacting, their combined might would ensure that no foreign tribe dared to provoke them easily.
A bold gamble!
Peter sighed once more. If the Demon Clan were to lose, they’d face utter ruin this time.
Still, after carefully analyzing their methods, Peter couldn’t deny the logic behind the Demon strategy. Presently, the Human Clan only had four existing Saints. Meanwhile, the Demon Clan had reached agreements with various factions, even sacrificing extensive benefits to solidify alliances. Under such circumstances, the likelihood of the Demons swiftly taking over the Human western territories seemed exceptionally high.
Peter, however, hadn’t reported the situation to all the Saints. He understood well that even if he did, it wouldn’t change much. Informing them would only cause chaos without providing any solutions. Everything would have to be handled by him alone.
Bit by bit, Peter pieced together the Demon Clan’s strategic layout. Suddenly, he discovered a Demon army gathering ground. At least fifty Saints had already assembled there, along with at least three hundred void-saint-level experts.
It was evident that the Demon Clan had adopted a strategy of concentrating power and deploying large forces. Their aim was to crush the Human quasi-saints with overwhelming military might.
"Take out this army first!"
The Human Clan no longer had time on their side. Peter knew that if he could eliminate one army outright, the Demons would face only two options: retreat or launch a full-scale assault.
Of course, at this stage, retreat was not a feasible choice for the Demons. Their only option would be to attack, during which Peter could dismantle their military forces in motion.
Peter honestly didn’t have a perfect solution yet. What he could do was methodically destroy the Demon armies one by one, preventing them from swiftly consolidating control over the Human territories after their conquest. Without such control, they’d be unable to birth new Saints.
Although Peter knew of a mysterious individual who possessed control over numerous quasi-saint-level experts, the Demon Clan didn’t believe this person was from the Human Clan. In their view, a force composed of fifty quasi-saints should be more than enough.
Peter soon arrived at his target location.
Using Divine Sense to scout the barracks, Peter couldn’t help but shake his head. The enemy had so many quasi-saints concealed within the encampment, yet in their effort not to draw outside attention, they hadn’t implemented any significant defenses. The entire army appeared remarkably lax.
That said, Peter was fully aware of the camp’s true situation. With so many quasi-saints and void saints present, they weren’t worried about possible sneak attacks. Any force that dared approach would meet certain death.
Peter’s strategies, however, were beyond their comprehension. Coming here, he already had a plan: he would command his Guardians to fight recklessly, even sacrificing themselves. After all, even if they died, Peter could absorb their willpower energy and recreate them through the Will Palace. Similarly, he could collect the energy from fallen enemies.
This tactic might be unaffordable for others, but Peter himself was unconcerned about losses.
First, he set up protective formations around himself. Then, he assigned a few quasi-saints to safeguard him personally. With fifty-five quasi-saints under his command, Peter dispatched them to execute his plan.
All of them were experts who utilized stealth techniques. These fifty-five Demon Clan, Beast Clan, and Fighter Clan quasi-saints had been skillfully disguised as Demon warriors. Exercising utmost caution, they infiltrated the barracks.
Watching the battle about to unfold, Peter was eager to see what results his strategies might yield.
The barracks showed no signs of heightened defenses. The Demon masters hadn’t realized a major clash was imminent.
