Chapter 2198: Chapter 22196: Ambush from Both Sides
At the border between the Beast Clan and Fighter Clan territories, both sides were clearly vigilant against each other. However, there were still many exploitable gaps.
After observing for a while, Peter Brown formulated his own plan. This place was indeed a good strategic location, with countless quasi-Saint-level experts from both sides present. If managed properly, he could gather the remaining dozens of quasi-Saints he still needed. Beyond that, he could even drag both sides into war.
Having this thought, Peter Brown began working busily on-site.
Naturally, what Peter Brown spent his efforts on was continuously searching for suitable spots to set up underground teleportation formations, as well as additional supporting formations in far-off areas.
After finishing the setups on the Fighter Clan side, Peter Brown moved on to the Beast Clan side to carry out similar arrangements.
This process took several days.
When Peter Brown finally completed this task, he didn’t act immediately but instead started building a network in the Beast Clan territory.
Peter understood that once war broke out, he could only rely on this Faith Network. Without it, he wouldn’t be able to accomplish anything.
Fortunately, everything was familiar territory for Peter Brown, and he wasn’t worried about failing to make it work.
After tireless efforts, Peter Brown successfully connected his Faith Network.
Now, even while residing in the Starlight Domain, Peter could instantly connect to the network here. With the network fully operational, he essentially achieved insight into affairs across worlds.
Finally, it’s done!
Next, Peter Brown began to gather information from various fronts through the network.
He started by using the network of the Demon Clan, intending to find out whether the Demon Clan had officially started their war against the Human Clan.
Upon investigation, Peter was startled. The Demon Clan was just about to launch their assault. They had mobilized a massive army in an attempt to seize a large block of Human World territory in one go, enabling their people to attain Saint status using the Human Clan domain.
Luckily, Peter found that his maneuvers had already taken effect. Just as the Demon Clan was preparing to attack the Humans, shocking news reached them: the Fighter Clan had accused them of assassinating one of their prominent leaders. In response, the Fighters had mobilized their own massive army and were preparing to invade the Demon Clan’s world. As a result, the planned attack on Humans was put on hold.
What a close call!
Learning of this, Peter Brown couldn’t help but feel a sense of lingering fear.
Better strike against the Beast Clan first!
After deliberating for a while, Peter Brown began looking for an opportunity to strike.
Through the network, Peter finally gained insight into the Beast Clan’s conditions. Surprisingly, the Beast Clan’s appearance wasn’t much different from the Humans. Once they reached adulthood, they would enter the Bone Transformation Stage and then metamorphosize into human-like forms. Due to the Bone Transformation process, their physical features were optimized, and they aimed to develop in the best possible direction. Thus, Beast Clan individuals appeared as alluring women or handsome, powerful men.
Of course, though Peter wasn’t averse to some playful interaction with individuals of other races, he didn’t hold much affection for this particular race.
The strength of the Beast Clan was ranked by tiers. Those at the Tenth Rank belonged to the Saint Level, while the Ninth Rank naturally corresponded to the quasi-Saint level.
For some unknown reason, Peter found the Beast Clan experts to be overwhelmingly numerous—so many it was terrifying. There were countless quasi-Saints present. If not for the existence of top-level Saints among the Fighter Clan, the Beast Clan could easily sweep through the Fighter Clan’s territory.
The battles here are fought at such a high level!
Though the Beast Clan had numerous experts, their number of Saints was similar to that of the Fighter Clan. Therefore, the presence of Fighter Clan Saints prevented them from launching an invasion.
After discerning these dynamics, Peter Brown began his preparations.
His first target was a western army unit, which included ten Ninth Rank experts.
Peter discovered that this location was beyond the immediate reach of Saint-level individuals.
As for strategy, Peter naturally opted for blitz tactics: swift and decisive strikes, killing as many as possible in one blow.
Peter Brown now commanded a formidable force of thirty-nine quasi-Saints. Notably, he had been keeping the Human Clan’s quasi-Saint hidden from public view, as he didn’t wish to draw attention to the Humans.
Three against one, then leave nine to annihilate the soldiers!
For this operation, Peter devised a direct charge, unleashing both magic attacks and battle energy strikes.
To ensure the effectiveness of the assault, Peter first disguised all his people as Beast Clan soldiers. After masking their cultivation levels, he positioned them in ambush around the ten Ninth Rank Beast Clan experts. Upon Peter’s command, all thirty-nine quasi-Saints launched their attacks in an instant.
A single assailant would have sufficed to inflict fatal harm, let alone three concealed attackers striking simultaneously—and using forbidden techniques at that.
The Ninth Rank experts of the Beast Clan faced disaster. Caught completely unawares, half of them fell immediately, while the remaining five were severely wounded.
Stronger forces unleashed relentless assaults, striking them from every direction.
What shocked them even more was the sudden inability to teleport away—they discovered teleportation was entirely blocked.
What’s happening?
The Beast Clan experts were utterly bewildered.
Before they could even react, another barrage of relentless attacks arrived.
Within two rounds, not a single cry for help was emitted. All ten Ninth Rank experts were eliminated.
Then came the thirty-nine quasi-Saints slaughtering the army.
Corpses were scattered everywhere, shattered remains littered the ground, and the atmosphere was suffused with residual willpower.
Having grown accustomed to such carnage, Peter Brown hesitated not in the slightest. He swiftly harnessed the Will Palace to swallow up all the scattered willpower.
As for the remains of the ten Ninth Rank Beast Clan experts, instead of integrating them into his formations, Peter restored their vitality. He infused them with the dissipated Void Saint-level energy as well as the energy he had accumulated beforehand.
This time, though the energy supply fell somewhat short, Peter managed to successfully recover six quasi-Saints.
Now, Peter Brown’s quasi-Saint Protectors numbered forty-five in total.
Noting that four had yet to recover, Peter felt a wave of relief. If Saints truly arrived now, he could easily merge these forty-five quasi-Saints into the Killing Saints Formation, thereby gaining the ability to slay Saints.
Still, Peter refrained from implementing this plan yet. After thoroughly clearing the battlefield, he applied the Heavenly Secret shielding technique he’d learned to completely obscure the events here—even Saints wouldn’t be able to discern what had transpired.
With the task completed, Peter executed an Elixir Sea teleportation and left.
