Chapter 2174: Chapter 2172: The Arrival of the Quasi Saint
Dusty Taylor was a quasi-saint and, moreover, a formation master-level quasi-saint.
Given Dusty Taylor’s standing, he was considered a powerful figure among the Human Clan’s quasi-saints. Most importantly, he had also grasped some techniques for utilizing faith energy, which greatly elevated his status.
Sitting cross-legged in his chamber, Dusty Taylor was currently deducing his formation techniques.
Suddenly, Dusty Taylor unmistakably felt a pang in his heart. Immediately after, his connection to a strand of willpower energy he’d placed in the Starlight Domain was severed.
"Who?"
Dusty Taylor immediately stood up.
This was unprecedented. It should be known that strand of willpower contained the full force of one of his attacks. No matter who arrived, even if a typical quasi-saint-level individual came, that attack would suffice for self-defense and could obliterate the opponent.
Yet now, his willpower had vanished.
Why had this happened?
Given the current situation where one saint of the Human Clan had died and another was critically injured, Dusty Taylor had assumed he could be the one to step in as a replacement. He had been preparing for this, planning to seize the opportunity to rise.
But just as he was plotting his ascent, something like this occurred, stirring a deep sense of unease within him.
The Starlight Domain, where he was actively conducting operations and periodically injecting Divine Vein energy, was steadily generating holy energy. The land there was undergoing transformation, synchronized with the academic facilities he’d established in the Starlight Domain. That place was where he planned to become a saint.
Who had disrupted his arrangements?
Dusty Taylor could no longer sit still.
He immediately stood up, saying nothing to anyone about the matter, and made his way to the teleportation formation, heading toward the Starlight Domain.
At the time, Dusty Taylor had been stationed in the Northern Region to assist in its defense. Thanks to his formations, the Rain Tribe had been unable to launch a successful attack against the region for the time being. His sudden departure created pressure for the Northern Saint.
"What has happened?"
The Northern Saint, who had been meditating with eyes closed, asked this in a solemn tone.
However, he did not truly expect an answer.
After posing the question, he began calculating using his fingers.
When the calculations were complete, the Northern Saint’s expression changed subtly. He realized that this matter seemed connected to the survival of the Human Clan. However, the Heavenly Secret was obscure, and he could not discern the exact nature of the situation.
"The Rain Tribe has launched another attack."
In the Rain World, heavy rain fell incessantly, day and night. The Human Clan and Rain Tribe had been locked in conflict for far too long.
"This time, the torrential rain from the Rain Tribe has arrived, and our region is being corroded by rainwater."
A general came forward to report.
Faced with the Rain Tribe’s assault, the saint could only prepare for battle.
No one paid further attention to Dusty Taylor’s dilemma. After all, the outbreak of war between the two realms was the primary concern. A single saint from the Human Clan bore the burden of withstanding the assault of an entire world, which was a staggering responsibility.
Dusty Taylor, meanwhile, cared nothing for the war of the two worlds. For him, achieving sainthood was paramount. Now that a key stronghold in his rear had encountered trouble, he would not feel at ease until he resolved the issue.
In truth, Dusty Taylor had his own calculations. Once the preparations in the Starlight Domain were nearly complete, he planned to withdraw and achieve sainthood there. He was entirely unconcerned with whether the Northern Saint lived or died.
After a few teleportations, Dusty Taylor entered the Starlight Domain.
Upon entering the domain, Dusty Taylor immediately felt the chaotic state of willpower in the area. Previously, he had aligned everything to flow toward his intent, but now all sorts of energies were scattered again.
"Who is it!"
Dusty Taylor was holding back his fury; someone had essentially uprooted his foundation!
After yet another teleportation, Dusty Taylor finally arrived at his destination.
Looking around, he found that the faith energy everywhere remained disordered, at least by his understanding—no longer converging toward him.
What kind of powerful individual could have arrived here?
Dusty Taylor mentally reviewed all the quasi-saint-level strong individuals known to the Human Clan. Yet, no matter how carefully he deliberated, he could not figure out who might have come, let alone who would dare provoke him so brazenly.
It should be noted that he had publicly declared the Starlight Domain as belonging to him, prohibiting any disturbances to its order.
A quasi-saint and a formation master-level figure, Dusty Taylor had always been extremely proud. He firmly believed there were few who would truly dare to challenge him.
Yet who could it be now?
After a while of pondering, he still failed to draw any conclusions.
Dusty Taylor was a meticulous and calculating person; otherwise, he would not have survived for so many years.
He did not rush forward. First, Dusty Taylor fortified his defenses before heading to the sacrificial ceremony site.
"Who is it? Come out and speak!"
Dusty Taylor shouted loudly.
However, Peter Brown was not concerned with external matters. The defending quasi-saints concealed themselves, silently awaiting Peter’s command before taking any action.
Dusty Taylor shouted several times, but no one responded. His rage burned ever hotter. To occupy his territory and disregard him was an unforgivable insult.
After shouting a few more times, Dusty Taylor roared, "If you don’t come out, I’m entering!"
Still, there was no answer.
Dusty Taylor was entirely familiar with the formations he had deployed. After hesitating for a moment and verifying his own condition, he strode inside.
"Huh!"
As soon as he entered, Dusty Taylor was taken aback. From the outside, it appeared to be the formation he had arranged, but once inside, he realized that the internal structure of the formation had undergone a tremendous transformation. It was no longer the formation he knew.
What was going on?
Dusty Taylor knew he had encountered another formation master.
He stood there, carefully studying the formation.
Yet, no matter how thoroughly he observed, he could not decipher the nature of these changes.
The exterior remained unchanged, but the interior had undergone a dramatic shift.
Snorting coldly, Dusty Taylor, as a formation master himself, possessed countless techniques. Breaking formations with formations was a feasible strategy. When unable to comprehend a formation’s intricacies, one could resolve it through brute force. With his formidable quasi-saint-level powers, he could simply channel them into the formation to generate immense strength and break the formation with ease.
Thinking this through, Dusty Taylor flicked his hand, hurling out a formation disk.
Great Wave Array!
This time, Dusty Taylor deployed a Great Wave Array—a formation known for its powerful impact. Many formation masters often employed it as a means of breaking other formations.
A trace of a smile appeared at the corner of Dusty Taylor’s mouth. In the face of his overwhelming formation, no matter how formidable the opposing formation might be, it would surely crumble.
