Chapter 2142: Chapter 2140: Battled with Nathan Rain
Originally, Peter Brown didn’t plan on doing anything to Nathan Rain. However, upon hearing those words, Peter’s mood took a turn for the worse. That Quasi Saint—whose name Peter didn’t even know—was betrayed by Nathan and his people for helping Peter. Furthermore, Nathan actually intended to kill Peter. At this moment, the flames of anger ignited in Peter’s heart. If Nathan wanted to play games, then Peter would ensure they played properly.
With that thought, Peter activated surveillance. Using the Invisibility Talisman and wrapping his body in Willpower Energy, he headed straight to the location where Nathan and his group convened.
This time, Peter didn’t care who was inside. Anyone associated with Nathan—dead or alive—didn’t matter to him.
Peter prepared two Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs—artifacts known for their threat against Quasi Saints.
While they might not kill Nathan outright, they would surely disgust him.
"Go!"
With a flick of his wrist, Peter hurled the two Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs into the hall.
Currently, Nathan Rain was in an excellent mood. Last time, he had recklessly sought revenge, inadvertently sparking a major battle within the Human Clan.
While no one knew exactly what he had done, they all attributed victory in this war to Nathan. As a result, his reputation skyrocketed, and he came to be regarded as a proxy for a Saint in this region.
In the hall, his trusted followers were gathered. Nathan had maneuvered tirelessly to eliminate dissenters, ensuring the rise of his loyalists.
The only thing that displeased Nathan was Peter Brown, who had yet to be captured. Nathan harbored a deep hatred for Peter, whose actions indirectly led to the death of Nathan’s relatives. Nathan didn’t tolerate anyone who spoke up for Peter, dealing with them through treachery.
At Nathan’s level, relationships—be they familial or emotional—had long ceased to matter. He didn’t concern himself with such trivialities.
When someone suggested eliminating Peter’s family too, Nathan was just about to agree when, suddenly, his mind jolted. To his shock, two Divine Artifacts came hurtling into the hall.
Nathan snorted coldly, raising his hand to deflect the Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs. However, to his astonishment, the bombs resisted his energy attacks and even pierced through the energy he had emitted, plunging straight into the hall.
Panic ensued among those present. One by one, they executed Body Flashes, attempting to flee.
Boom! Boom!
Two loud explosions echoed through the hall.
As the detonations subsided, Nathan managed to quickly erect a protective barrier.
Scanning the scene, Nathan discovered several of his people lying dead on the floor.
"Nathan Rain, you damn Quasi Saint! I, Peter Brown, didn’t provoke you, yet you tried to kill me. Starting today, I’ll stand against you. I swear to kill all of you and wipe out your entire family!"
Peter Brown was truly enraged; those two Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs were merely the start of his retaliation.
Nathan now realized Peter was behind the attack. He too was furious, having lost several trusted followers—a loss he could never tolerate.
"You brat, if you’ve got the guts, don’t run!"
"You damn Quasi Saint, if you dare lower your cultivation to my level, I’ll beat you so badly you’ll think your mother gave birth to someone else!"
Years had passed since anyone dared to insult Nathan Rain to his face. Enraged, he stormed out of the hall.
But to his frustration, Peter Brown was already gone.
Nathan unleashed his powerful Divine Sense across the heavens and earth, scanning for Peter’s presence, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Where did that brat run off to?"
As Nathan speculated, his steward approached and whispered, "Master, this is bad news. The two Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs killed five Void Saints and severely injured four others."
Nathan’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the steward.
In a flash, Nathan entered the hall and investigated the area of the explosions. His expression turned grim as he muttered, "Where did he get such powerful Extreme Fire Divine Thunder bombs?"
No one could answer him; everyone present was stunned.
"What do we do now?" someone asked.
"Hmph. Doesn’t he have family in the Hua Kingdom? Wipe out his family! I want to see what he does about that!"
Upon hearing this, Peter Brown’s expression changed. Monitoring Nathan’s words, Peter realized Nathan intended to destroy his family too. This decision solidified Peter’s resolve—he would kill Nathan no matter what.
"Nathan Rain, you son of a bitch! Using your status as a Quasi Saint to bully cultivators like us, and now you’re planning to kill our mortal families? Do you even have any decency? Let me tell you, Nathan Rain, I know all about your family. If you dare harm mine, I’ll annihilate your entire mortal family in return!"
"How does he know that?"
Nathan Rain was truly shocked now. Scanning the surroundings, he failed to locate any Flying Mosquito Surveillance Devices, leaving him puzzled as he glanced at his followers.
Peter Brown continued, "My family is right there. If any of you have the guts, send people to kill them. The moment you harm my family, I swear I’ll wipe out every mortal family among you. Don’t assume I can’t do it—I’ve already cracked the refining method for the Extreme Fire Divine Thunder and I can produce it myself."
If Nathan’s family were the only ones involved, others might not have cared. But Peter’s bold statement made everyone uneasy. Their bodies flickered and they all began to leave the room.
Yet, baffling everyone, Peter Brown had somehow slipped away right under their noses, despite their superior skills.
"How did he manage that?"
Unease rippled through the crowd.
One Void Saint suggested, "Master, perhaps we shouldn’t harm his family. This principle is universally acknowledged, and violating it could turn all of the Cultivation Realm against us. It would be our downfall."
Nathan Rain snorted but recognized the merit in this advice. He reluctantly said, "Fine, then forget the family. Focus solely on Peter Brown."
The others sighed with relief upon hearing this.
Nathan Rain loudly declared, "Peter Brown, listen up! The talk about killing mortal families was a joke. We won’t act on it, and we hope you won’t either."
"You have my assurance. As long as you don’t do it, neither will I," Peter replied, also letting out a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, convinced he had detected Peter’s whereabouts, Nathan Rain bolted toward that direction.
