Chapter 2050: Chapter 2048: Peter Brown’s Garrison

Is this Defense Line 16270?

Peter Brown received the order to depart and arrived here aboard a dedicated transport craft.

Speaking frankly, this area is only about 10 kilometers in size.

"I am the stationed Commander here, and from now on, this piece of land belongs to your Purple River Star Region. Whatever means you employ, this defensive position must not be lost. Retreat and you will be executed!"

The person standing before Peter was obviously a highly cultivated individual, standing there with an imposing aura.

"Commander, you must know my situation. I may not be able to hold this territory. My death is a trivial matter, but I’m worried it could affect the entire battle situation."

Peter didn’t truly believe they would just hand over this defensive formation to him, so he straightforwardly voiced his concerns.

After looking at Peter, the Commander said, "Since you’ve brought it up, I’ll tell you. Regarding your situation, we only have one bottom line: you must not be a deserter. No matter how the battle turns out, you must stay within this formation, even if you must hide, you can only hide within this area. Of course, it would be better if you can earn military merit. As for the defense, I have other arrangements."

So that’s how it is!

Peter nodded in response, "Thank you for your consideration, Commander."

"I once received assistance from a senior in the Purple River Star Region, but sadly he has long passed. I hope you will survive."

Having said this, the Commander had already departed.

So that’s the situation!

Peter sighed, not expecting that he had such a good connection with the Commander.

With the Commander’s departure, Peter finally had time to look around.

After looking around, he saw that this place was completely different from others, indeed it was solid ground everywhere, with not even a speck of sand or soil.

When he took out the soldier shovel issued to him and tried to dig, Peter frustratingly found that he only managed to make a shallow mark.

Such solid ground!

Looking towards the distant fissure, Peter didn’t know how big it was, but the sight of the surging energy was frightening.

He wasn’t even sure if he could withstand the impact of such energy.

And when he thought about how everyone else could freely plunge into the stream of energy, Peter found once again that his own cultivation was far too weak.

Forget it, don’t think too much about it now. For the moment, what I have to do is to construct teleportation formations. At least I need to build a batch here so they won’t all be destroyed in a single strike.

After checking out each location here, Peter had no idea which place was safe.

A teleportation formation should be constructed underneath the defensive formation!

Since the formation stands as long as I do, what I can do is work on the teleportation formations here.

Peter was still grateful for the Commander’s leniency, after all, he had said that as long as he wasn’t a deserter, they wouldn’t care what happened to him, so it was better to hide first and foremost.

With this in mind, Peter’s task became much simpler, which involved setting up two kinds of arrangements: defense and teleportation. First, he couldn’t be killed instantly, and second, he had to have time to teleport.

Peter didn’t dig in the very center of the position but instead chose a slightly rearward spot with an incline to start digging.

I must say, that energy shovel is truly a divine artifact. After Peter poured in 100 Star Level worth of energy, the digging speed of the energy shovel greatly increased.

A day went by, and Peter had advanced a good distance into the interior.

After all, Peter had calculated that he must go far down.

A teleportation formation was set by Peter within, and not just that, he also surrounded the teleportation formation with a Star Energy Formation capable of withstanding a blow from a 5000 Star Level master.

Looking at his own setup, Peter nodded to himself. With such an arrangement, unless someone higher than 5000 Star Level comes along, this place should be safe.

After completing this task, Peter started to lay out his own formations. This time he set up a Concealment Formation of his own design, not just a single layer, he laid a formation every interval, connecting five in succession right there.

Moreover, within each formation, he constructed some Illusion Formations; if one wasn’t careful, all they would see were the land and rocks here.

After hiding the teleportation formation within, Peter walked out from within.

Looking at the Concealment Formation he set up, Peter added another layer of rocks on the outside to block it off.

Done, this part is complete. But definitely, one formation is not enough.

Peter looked around and saw two places at a distance from here, both ahead and behind.

For some reason, the battle has not yet commenced, and it seems as if Peter has been forgotten, with no one coming to check on him.

Peter also understood in his heart that everyone already regarded him as a dead man; no one would waste their time on someone who was expected to die.

All the better!

Peter would prefer it this way. With this situation, he had time to make arrangements.

After setting up a secret teleportation formation at a location in the Rear, Peter then placed another in the front.

Now, Peter had set up three teleportation formations.

Peter knew his situation: fleeing was definitely not an option. At the least, his military flag would surely record the event, so what Peter could do was to set preparations around the area.

One by one, the teleportation formations started cropping up around this defensive formation.

Ten days had passed since Peter started this routine, and he finally managed to set up ten teleportation formations around this area.

If this isn’t enough, then it can only mean that my luck isn’t good.

After being busy for several days, Peter realized his cultivation had indeed increased and had reached 202 Star Level.

Having taken an Elixir, Peter sat cross-legged there, contemplating his situation.

Such strategies still don’t seem sufficient!

Of course, Peter did not want to be passively receiving hits. If possible, he wanted to make a difference. If he could kill at least one enemy, it would be a tremendous achievement for him.

But killing an opponent of 1000 Star Level is genuinely not easy. With his own Star Level, it is impossible, so he would have to rely on other means.

Peter pondered over this again and again, taking out the Jade Slips he had acquired, studying them even more seriously this time.
