Chapter 2014: Chapter 2112: Inquiring About the Situation
The Divine Nation called GreyHawk Nation is as vast as the original Purpolia Kingdom, and it already lies between Peter Brown’s Hua Kingdom and one other Divine Nation.
Sitting inside the bustling city’s tea house, Peter Brown ordered a pot of tea and savored it.
"Have there been any recent news? Tell me about it."
Peter tossed a Divine Stone to the waiter.
Seeing Peter’s generosity, the waiter smiled and said, "There’s a sea of fresh news; which specific aspects would you like to hear about?"
"About the Cultivation Realm."
"Speaking of the Cultivation Realm, it has truly become extremely prosperous now. Ever since holy energy emerged a few years ago, cultivators have indeed become more and more powerful."
"That might not necessarily be the case. I heard that one can only reach up to a Hundred-and-Eight Star Rank."
"Hehe, you’re not fully informed. It was true that one could only reach a Hundred-and-Eight Star Rank, but then those sent to academies brought back Elixirs that, once consumed, can break through a barrier, allowing one to surpass the Hundred-and-Eight Star Rank. There are now several people who have reached a 160 Star Rank, and many sects have become very powerful."
"Are those Elixir Seas so easily obtained?"
"You must be joking; how could that be possible? Those Elixir Seas were acquired by disciples who entered academies at great cost. It’s said to be very valuable, and even the academies find it hard to get."
"A lot of students have already been dispatched from within the country; I believe those academies must already hold significant strength within the academies, right?"
The waiter shook his head and said, "It’s said that the competition is fierce in the academies as well; quite a number of people have died."
Such things were happening!
Peter Brown was also surprised by the situation in the academies.
"I heard that some people from our nation have been passing by; they should be developing as well, right?"
"Indeed, several batches have passed through. But well, it’s enough that you know; very few of those who make it alive actually reach their destination."
"That can’t be true, I’ve heard that the Hua Kingdom has tens of thousands, or at least thousands, of Guard Teams escorting them."
The waiter laughed and said, "When it comes to this matter, you’re not aware. Actually, from the Hua Kingdom, two rather large groups have come. The first group, it is said, was composed of members from the Cultivation Sects, about a thousand people. You know what happened?"
"What happened?" Peter naturally knew that it was the sect leaders who composed the group.
With a sigh, the waiter said, "The qualifications for the academy are indeed tempting. Along the way, they fought with several gangs of bandits. It’s said they possessed Heaven-Exploding Thunder capable of killing those at the 150 Star Rank, leaving the bandit groups greatly weakened. Later, various powers started using methods to gradually reduce their supply of Heaven-Exploding Thunder, and as a result, so many of them were dispersed. A large number were killed, with only a few managing to break through. Who knows their current situation; they probably won’t last much longer."
"Bandits?"
The waiter whispered, "They say it’s bandits, but who truly knows the specifics. It’s suspected to be manipulation by various powers. How could the Divine Nations passing by possibly protect them? Many of the qualification certificates were stolen."
"If that’s the case, the academy should establish some regional protection."
"People have reported it to the academy, but the academy’s response was clear—they need capable fighters, and if they die, they die!"
Peter Brown genuinely did not expect the academy to have such an attitude, and he was momentarily stunned.
"Then there’s the second group; that team was enormous, with even more experts at the Hundred-and-Eight Star Rank providing escort. Unexpectedly, there were so many experts in the Hua Kingdom. Their team encountered a gang of bandits and wiped them out in one fell swoop. However, I’ve heard that they also lost some people. Sigh, there’s still a long road from here to the academy, and nobody knows if they can make it."
Originally, Peter Brown felt relieved that such a formidable team had been dispatched, but now after hearing the waiter’s words, he became less optimistic, thinking that they might get entirely consumed along the way.
"How much longer is the journey from here to the academy?"
The waiter said, "It’s quite far, countless Divine Nations lie ahead, and the further one goes, the greater the power of these Divine Nations becomes. Some experts there have cultivation that reaches over the 200 Star-rank, extremely powerful."
Although curious about why Peter Brown seemed unaware of these matters, spurred by the Divine Stone’s influence, the waiter earnestly explained everything.
After the waiter left, Peter Brown sat there, savoring the tea, feeling quite pleased with himself for setting off alone. Bringing a group of people might have actually been a burden.
Forget it. First, he would go to the Trading Market to see if he could find some Holy Grass.
After finishing his tea, Peter Brown asked for directions to the Trading Market and made his way to the Trading Market of King’s City.
Once there, Peter Brown did find some Holy Grass and Holy Fruits, but they were no different from the Holy Grass and Holy Fruits he had obtained from around the Hua Kingdom, so he did not make a purchase.
Unconsciously, Peter Brown ended up at the slave market.
Originally just planning to casually take a look, Peter lifted his head and was stunned.
Blinking his eyes, he astonishingly realized that the dejected person was none other than Bennett Morris from the Beast Sect School.
Why had he become a slave?
On closer inspection of Bennett Morris’s condition, Peter Brown found that the young man was in a pitiful state. He used to be at the Hundred-and-Eight Star Level, but now his cultivation was confined. Whoever restricted him must have at least a 120 Star-rank in cultivation, and even Peter would need to use special methods to release him from confinement.
After hesitating briefly, Peter Brown, considering their past relationship—especially since he might find out some information about the people they had set off with—bought Bennett Morris for a thousand Divine Stones.
A thousand Divine Stones!
To think that a newly appointed leader of the Beast Sect School was only worth a thousand Divine Stones, Peter could only shake his head in disbelief at such a situation.
Looking at Bennett Morris again, the spirit in his eyes had vanished, standing there with a vacant gaze, naturally having lost his qualification certificate.
Taking Bennett Morris back to the place of residence, Peter Brown asked the waiter to open a separate room for him and then had the waiter take him to bathe.
Throughout the entire process, Peter Brown observed and realized that Bennett Morris had suffered a tremendous blow.
Wasn’t this youngster supposed to have made arrangements with some sect members to go together?
Thinking of the number and strength of the people they were heading out with, Peter Brown once again sensed the dangers of the journey.
It took quite a while before Bennett Morris finished bathing. After changing into clean clothes, he was brought to Peter Brown’s room.
