Chapter 1988: Chapter 1986: The Child of the Divine Race
After settling his affairs, Peter Brown hurried back to the backyard.
The news of expecting a child put Peter in a great mood—this was his own child after all!
When he entered Sophia Baker’s room, Peter was taken aback to see Sophia with a protruding belly.
"What’s going on?"
"What do you mean what’s going on?" Sophia asked, puzzled.
Peter pointed at her belly and said, "How did it get so big so fast? What happened?"
Now, Peter was getting anxious.
Hearing Peter’s question, Sophia said, "That’s how it is with the Divine Race when they are expecting a child!"
"What?"
Peter said, "Isn’t it supposed to be ten months of pregnancy?"
Sophia began to laugh and explained, "You must be talking about the people of the Lower Realm. For our Divine Race, pregnancy doesn’t need that much time. As long as there is sufficient nutrition and enough vitality and energy, it might only take a few days to give birth."
There was such a thing!
Peter was truly flabbergasted, having never imagined that childbirth could be so simple for the Divine Race.
Seeing Peter’s reaction, Sophia spoke, "Prince, it’s actually not common for births to happen so quickly. You might not be very familiar with pregnancy in women; let me explain it to you."
Sophia was a clever person. She had long suspected Peter’s origins, guessing that he might come from the Lower Realm. However, as a clever person, her principle had always been never to pry into matters that she shouldn’t. Now, seeing Peter’s reaction, she was even more convinced that he came from the Lower Realm, yet she was also astounded by Peter’s strength and exhibited a gentle demeanor to explain it to him.
Peter didn’t care if people knew he came from the Lower Realm; in the Divine Realm, strength was what mattered. As long as he had strength, no one would dare to do anything to him.
After sitting down, a maid naturally came over to pour tea.
"Prince, it’s very difficult for women of the Divine Race to get pregnant. Many are unable to conceive in their lifetime, and even after conceiving, it’s tough. Why? Because the child will siphon nutrition—what we call vitality and energy—from the mother’s body. A typical Divine woman could be said to lose half her life with each pregnancy. From conception to birth, a large amount of her body’s vitality will be consumed, an expensive process indeed."
Peter thought about how children could take away vitality and energy—it was indeed the first he had heard of such a thing.
Sophia continued, "It really comes down to financial resources. If one is wealthy, they can provide a great deal of food infused with vitality and energy for expectant mothers to consume, which replaces what is taken from them, minimising the harm to the mother’s body."
"Are you saying that as long as there are enough of those things, the child will grow quickly?"
Peter was beginning to understand the Divine Race’s conception process.
"Yes, as long as there are enough of those treasured items, and after consumption they are properly guided, the child’s growth will be very quick. Kingston House possesses many such items; I’ve been continuously taking them, so not only has the child not taken any of my vitality and energy, but it also has plenty of energy to grow rapidly."
"So in that case, it wouldn’t take many days for birth to occur?"
"Hmm, given the circumstances of Kingston House, giving birth will take at most one month’s time. That’s also because I’m worried about the child not being able to absorb the energy too quickly and thus have opted for a slower cultivation method."
Peter had always thought of the standard ten months of pregnancy; he didn’t expect that for the Divine Race, it was all about replenishing vitality and energy. This revelation left Peter in awe.
Peter intended to go to the academy, and he had always been pondering when he would be able to leave. Looking at the current situation in Hua Kingdom, it was clear he couldn’t leave immediately. But if the child really could be born within a month, that would solve a lot of problems.
"Prince, you’re destined for the academy. To avoid affecting your departure, I took the liberty of adopting a faster birthing method, though it’s quite resource-consuming."
"It doesn’t matter; I have plenty more."
Peter then handed over a lot of Holy Fruits to Sophia.
Seeing Peter produce so many Holy Fruits, Sophia said, "We won’t need so many now. The child needs time to absorb them; ingesting too many Holy Fruits all at once would be too much energy to handle."
"Just manage it as you see fit, don’t worry about it."
When Peter employed his Divine Sense to check on the child, he could see through Sophia’s belly and discovered a healthy boy, which further improved his mood.
"Prince, there are likely several women who will conceive. I will ensure they also speed up the process."
"There’s no need for that. You’re carrying a boy, who will need to carry on after I leave; you can hasten the process for him. For the others, let it be as it may."
"You still want everyone to see what a father you are!"
Peter chuckled, "I didn’t expect everyone to conceive."
Since the Holy Fruits held enough vitality and energy for consumption, Peter entrusted all the fruits to Sophia to manage the situation.
After leaving Sophia’s place, Peter was smiling. He had never imagined that he would actually be establishing a nation in the Divine Realm and was now intent on expanding and strengthening it.
With this in mind, he needed to act more quickly.
As Peter was thinking about how to accelerate the process, Bennett Morris and others came again, bringing with them an abundance of materials. Seeing all the materials, Peter was reminded of the importance of Qi Refining the Heaven-Exploding Thunder; he immediately began to concentrate on creating the Heaven-Exploding Thunder.
The people of the Sect were evidently eager to get their hands on the Heaven-Exploding Thunder as well, sending many to wait here.
"I want to establish a unified and powerful nation. I hope the Sects will either submit to Our Country or leave!"
After looking towards Bennett Morris, Peter straightforwardly made his position clear.
"Rest assured, Prince. Our Sect will submit to Hua Kingdom. This isn’t just the stance of Beast Sect but also of the various sects. Everyone believes in the growing strength of Hua Kingdom."
Seeing Bennett Morris’s attitude, Peter nodded in approval, "Good. If that’s the case, your Sects might be included within Hua Nation."
With this matter clarified, Peter started to focus on refining the Heaven-Exploding Thunder.
