Chapter 1909 - 1907: The Attitude of the Sect
Chapter 1909: Chapter 1907: The Attitude of the Sect
At the beginning, Peter Brown thought the Sect’s people would talk to them, but he found that nothing of that sort occurred; the Sect’s people didn’t even care about their opinions.
Just as Peter and his group had settled down, Prince Wesley also arrived.
Originally, Wesley was concerned about Peter, but as events unfolded, he began to worry about his own future as well.
"What brings Prince Wesley here so suddenly? It’s quite rare!" Peter understood his thoughts as soon as he saw him enter.
With a complex expression, Wesley said to Peter, "Harvey, you’re really cunning. All of us misjudged you; we can’t deny your skills."
"Where are you coming from, Prince Wesley? You’re also an impressive figure, secretly becoming a disciple of the Skyreach Sect early on."
"Harvey, we need not beat around the bush. You must be aware of the current situation. It’s disadvantageous for the Winchesters. Our entire nation is nearly doomed."
As he spoke, he turned to look at Peter.
Peter gestured with his hand and said, "Let’s sit down and talk."
After they sat down, Wesley sighed and said, "We indeed have a competitive relationship, but that’s predicated on the existence of the Purpolia Kingdom. The current development includes the Sect not wanting to see our Divine Nation exist. They will soon dismantle our nation, and we would have to join one of the Sects. Without the support of the Divine Nation, we are nothing within the Sects, and advancing our cultivation would be extremely difficult. I wonder, Harvey, what are your thoughts?"
Prince Wesley indeed felt a sense of crisis; he knew that for the Winchesters, banding together was their only sliver of hope.
Looking at Wesley, Peter shook his head inwardly. Even if he joined forces with the remaining two members of the Winchester family, how could those two, who remained alive, actually help him? After all, his identity was bound to be revealed sooner or later, so he dismissed the idea of forming an alliance with them.
Thinking this, Peter shook his head and said, "Prince Wesley, honestly, my thoughts are simple. Just staying alive is good enough. Previously, since everyone was competing, I had no choice but to compete. Since the Sect has arranged our development path, I think it’s best to follow the Sect. As for the matter of dismantling the nation, if the Sect decides it’s necessary, I don’t mind."
Seeing Wesley’s expression sour, Peter continued, "Actually, Prince Wesley ought to understand. We can’t contend with the power of the Sects, even if we used all of our national strength. Since we can’t resist, why not happily accept it?"
Wesley’s face now really looked terrible. He was scheming, hoping to incite Prince Harvey to rebel, but he expected the rebellion to fail. If Prince Harvey perished, and then he also ensured that the Fifth Prince died, leaving only him, he should be able to secure some benefits on behalf of the nation, even if the nation was dissolved. His gain would naturally be substantial.
However, what he hadn’t expected was that Prince Harvey had no intention of rebelling, complicating matters.
Having experienced so much, Peter could easily discern his thoughts. Seeing his distressed expression, Peter said, "All I want is to cultivate and become a Saint. Now I can cultivate in peace. What’s wrong with that? Initially, Prince Wesley, I had high hopes for you. You could ascend the throne, and I could advise you from the side. I believe then you wouldn’t withhold benefits from me. But now, everything is over. We should just accept reality."
What?
Wesley looked at Peter again and again, but, thinking of the impending demise of the nation, he sighed, stood up, and said, "I apologize for the intrusion. Farewell."
After sending off Prince Wesley, Peter sat there deep in thought for a long time. The situation needed serious consideration; it was clear that the Sect intended to dismantle the Purpolia Kingdom. There was no possibility for the princes to ascend the throne. What should he do?
After sitting for a while, Francis Miller walked in and said, "Your Highness, I’ve gathered some information."
"Speak."
"Your Highness, this time the coordination meeting was initiated by the Beast Sect, Skyreach Sect, Heavenly Domain Gate, and the Spiritual Spring Sect. The basic agreement is almost settled. The plan is to divide the Purpolia Kingdom into four parts, with each sect occupying a region. After the dissolution of the kingdom, the princes will each go to their respective sects to cultivate, and they will be upgraded one level."
While saying this, Francis looked somewhat worriedly at Peter.
"What kind of experts have come from the sects?"
"Your Highness, each sect is taking this matter very seriously. They have all sent experts of the Sixty Star Level to preside over it."
Sixty Star Level?
Peter nodded slightly.
"Your Highness, they actually still have some disputes, mainly about dividing the territories. It’s said that the Beast Sect, seeing that your power is the greatest and you’re almost ready to ascend the throne, demanded the lion’s share. The Spiritual Spring Sect believes their disciples are also princes and possess a cultivation of the Twenty-one Star Level, also potentially able to ascend, so they demand that the Beast Sect returns the territory of the Eighth Prince and asks for the biggest share. The Skyreach Sect, having always controlled our country, also demanded a large portion."
Hearing this, Peter began to ponder seriously. He realized there were opportunities to fish in troubled waters; if handled well, it might really change some things.
"Presumably, they are not residing within this city?"
"They are all in this city, just in different locations."
"Continue gathering information."
Now Peter roughly knew the thoughts of each sect. No wonder they didn’t seek the princes’ opinions. They thought they could decide everything themselves.
"Your Highness, someone from the Beast Sect is coming."
While Peter was deep in thought, a person from the Beast Sect, who had been expected for a long time, arrived.
"Let them in, no, I’ll go out to meet them instead."
Peter walked out from his seat and quickly went to the front gate.
The visitor was Bennett Morris, whom Peter knew.
Looking at Peter, Bennett Morris said, "This time, there’s no other business. The sects have basically reached an agreement, which is to dissolve the Purpolia Kingdom. After its dissolution, the territory will be divided among the four major sects. You princes will be promoted into the sects, and you can take your women with you, but you will need to support them yourselves. Do you have any objections?"
Accompanying him were several highly cultivated individuals, all looking derisively at Peter, clearly suggesting that if Peter disagreed, they would deal with him accordingly.
