Chapter 1900: Chapter 1988: The Situation in King’s City Is Astonishing

Benjamin Winchester had died, perishing under the Heavenly Disaster!

In fact, as soon as news of Prince Harvey’s attack on Prince Alfred had spread, various powers had already fixed their gaze on the situation, all eager to see which party would emerge victorious.

Of course, in everyone’s minds, Prince Harvey was not favored to win, as his cultivation simply couldn’t compare. Prince Alfred was at the Nineteenth Star Position, after all; what could Prince Harvey do, no matter his tactics?

As observations continued, it was discovered that Prince Alfred had even concealed his true cultivation, and after unexpectedly advancing to the Twenty-Star Level, everyone was even more convinced that Prince Harvey was destined to fail.

Yet, to everyone’s surprise, something unimaginable happened: Prince Alfred died.

When the news spread, a wave of astonishment swept through the various powers; they were completely baffled by this development.

After further confirmation, the shock intensified - it wasn’t that Prince Harvey had killed Prince Alfred, but rather that Prince Alfred had died amidst the Heavenly Disaster.

How could this be possible?

Everyone understood that the Heavenly Disaster of the Twenty-Star Level would, at most, result in one dropping back to the Nineteenth or Eighteenth Star Levels, but never had they heard of someone being obliterated by it.

What exactly had happened?

After deploying personnel for a more in-depth investigation, they had to admit that an accident had indeed occurred.

Alas!

With a collective sigh, everyone had thought that Benjamin Winchester, who seemed so powerful, should have made it. How could he have died so abruptly?

In the time that followed, more news trickled in. It wasn’t only Prince Alfred, aka Benjamin Winchester, who had perished; the Sixth Prince and Prince Elijah had all been taken out by Prince Harvey’s men.

On careful reflection, everyone’s hearts trembled with the realization that Prince Harvey was truly ruthless, completely annihilating the Heavenly Domain Faction’s power here. Was he not afraid of their retaliation?

This was incomprehensible!

At this moment, King’s City was in turmoil, with no one sure of which side to take.

Upon closer thought, aside from the Eighth Prince, Sebastian Winchester, who had been captured by the Beast Sect, there were now only Prince Winfield Winchester, Alexander Winchester, and Prince Wesley left among the princes.

Alexander Winchester was from the Beast Sect and shared the same Sect as Prince Harvey, so he should be relatively safe. Then, Prince Wesley of the Skyreach Sect was less powerful than Prince Winfield Winchester.

Could it be that Prince Winfield Winchester was truly destined to rise to power?

As everyone speculated on the matter, Peter Brown, holed up in Kingston House, was also pondering his next move. With only two opponents left, what should he do?

Peter also felt the impulse to eliminate these two men immediately, but he knew that while taking out a disciple of a Major Power would satisfy the various factions, as the Heavenly Domain Gate’s influence was too strong for any to hope to overcome, taking out a member of the Skyreach Sect would likely cost him his own life.

As for the Fifth Prince, Peter knew there might be a chance, but he dared not actually kill him, for it was taboo for Sect Disciples of the same Sect to kill each other.

After some contemplation, Peter could only sigh inwardly, thinking that this situation would have to do for now. After all, even if he were to kill all these princes, it wasn’t out of the question for the Sect to simply lower its facade and prop up another Family to Struggle for the Throne.

Moreover, Peter really didn’t know what might become of that Eighth Prince captured by the Beast Sect. That fellow was a Twenty-One Star Level master, and perhaps his real rival should be that very prince.

"Your Highness, all the Mansions have been subdued!"

Philips Williams was ecstatic. He never expected such a turn of events in King’s City, that the prince he so faithfully served might actually succeed in the Struggle for the Throne. This was a remarkable achievement indeed!

Looking at Philips Williams, he handed a Ring to Peter, saying, "Inside are the Collections from the various Mansions."

Peter took the Ring and peered inside before telling Philips, "I need a significant number of Tenth Rank beast skins. Help me gather some; use up all the money in this Ring."

After taking out the items useful to him, Peter handed the Ring back to Philips, whom he trusted. Philips was indeed a very loyal eunuch.

"Rest assured, Your Highness, I’ll make sure to gather the beast skins."

As they spoke, Philips added, "Your Highness, I’ve made arrangements for the women from the Mansions. Those without children and attractive have been sent to Your Highness’s Royal Harem, and those with children, the unproblematic ones were spared, while the rest were moved to the Warm Palace. Your Highness can enjoy their company."

Peter hadn’t actually given it much thought and simply looked at Philips, with no inclination to oppose his arrangements.

Having experienced so much, Peter was well versed in the rules of various places. These were the rules here, after all. Peter was no puritan; if he could enjoy life, he had no qualms about doing so.

"What’s the situation in the External World?"

"Your Highness, right now everyone is uncertain about what to do. What I’ve come to understand is that they’re all waiting to see what stance the Sects will take, as that’s the key."

Peter nodded. In the current situation, he didn’t feel safe anywhere. Since no one knew what the Sects were planning, Peter was acutely aware that his survival took precedence for any chance of further development.

"Announce that I will enter closed-door cultivation for a time. Unless it concerns the Imperial Throne, no one should disturb me."

After giving instructions, Peter returned to the Archive.

Aside from storing items, the Archive also had an area for Cultivation, and naturally had the strongest defenses. With the Beast Sect yet to make its move, all Peter could do was work to upgrade his ability to survive.

Thinking it over, Peter handed some of his Qi Refining Talismans over to Philips, saying, "Organize a team of the strongest eunuchs, make sure they’re proficient in formations, and equip each with ten of these Talismans. If they meet with a formidable enemy, they should trap them in a formation and then obliterate them."

"Be at ease, Your Highness, I will make the arrangements."

Philips was a smart man, and he knew these were critical times.

After giving these orders, Peter did not go to look at his seemingly vast Royal Harem but went straight into the Archive.

Peter sent out Talisman after Talisman as he began setting up the formation. With only beast skin Talismans at his disposal, he could only create formations of that kind. He was confident that with further study, he would be able to conjure up more formal formation.

The beast skins Philips had brought were plentiful, especially those from Prince Samuel, which were abundant. Peter began Refining them in earnest, aiming to create Talismans crucial for survival and powerful in attack.
