Chapter 1837: Chapter 1835: Special Reward
Everyone was truly astonished; they had not expected such a vast expanse of Divine Valley Land.
"Did you plant all these Divine Valleys?" The law-enforcement deacon asked, turning his gaze toward Peter Brown.
Brian Hughes explained, "Steward Harris, the hundred acres of Divine Valley Fields here were all opened up by Peter Brown, a Menial Worker."
Steward Harris walked into the Divine Valley Land and looked at the valleys, expressing his surprise, "You have trained all three Techniques to the Third Level?"
Peter replied, "Yes, all three levels have been mastered."
Nodding slightly, Steward Harris said, "Only those who have fully cultivated all three levels could possibly have planted the Divine Valleys so well. Quite impressive, your insight is exceptionally high."
With that, he looked toward the others and said, "You all should take a look too."
Everyone examined for a while and nodded in agreement, "It seems they were all planted after reaching the Third Level."
One of them turned to Peter and asked, "Do you know formations?"
"Just a bit. I modified some formation techniques on my own and set them up."
Seeing the puzzled looks from everyone, Peter did not hide anything and shared his own formation techniques with them.
After hearing Peter’s explanation, one of them nodded slightly and stated, "It’s indeed a bright idea to think of using life energy to isolate and preserve energy, which is close to the formation content of the Divine Race. It signifies an exploratory mind. However, have you considered that the larger the formation’s energy input, the more life energy it will require to act as a protective layer? The more advanced the formation, the more life energy will be required. How many people can achieve that? Hence, your formation approach is somewhat aggressive. Nevertheless, you possess an aptitude for Formation Dao, which is good. If you were to receive the System’s inheritance, I believe you could make significant progress in this area."
Peter also began to reflect upon these words. Guided by the others’ advice, he realized that his approach was indeed aggressive. It may not be a problem at a lower level of cultivation, but as one advanced, such issues could indeed become apparent.
"Thank you, senior," Peter said with a respectful bow.
Seeing Peter’s polite demeanor, the advising person also gave a satisfied nod.
Steward Harris turned to Brian Hughes and asked, "Is he a new Menial Worker?" It was now that he truly began to take Peter seriously.
Brian responded, "His name is Peter Brown, and indeed, he is a new Menial Worker, currently not too advanced in his cultivation."
Looking at Peter, Steward Harris sighed and said, "With your knowledge of formations, you could directly become an official disciple. But, the Sect has its admissions regulations. Without reaching ten stars, you cannot become an official disciple."
He pondered for a moment before continuing, "Fortunately, you have a few merits. Firstly, you helped us capture the saboteurs. Secondly, you opened up a hundred acres of land, which, if kept undamaged, will lead to a bountiful harvest—a significant contribution. Thirdly, your ability in formations means you’re a Talent. Plus, your cultivation insight is not low. Left to develop on your own, who knows when you would advance. Considering your situation, we can strive to get you a Body Refining Technique that will enable you to cultivate to ten stars!"
At this, Peter’s eyes lit up. If true, this would be a great benefit to him, also solving the issue of not being able to accommodate more Life Stars.
The person who had advised him on formation knowledge nodded slightly, "I think a reward is in order. Talent is rare."
"Well then, let’s settle on that. We’ll apply for it after we return."
"Thank you, Stewards," Peter said, clasping his fists in gratitude.
After they finished their conversation, they turned and left.
Brian Hughes finally breathed a sigh of relief after they took Father and Son of the Huyan Family away, saying, "Who would have thought it was Carrington Baldwin’s Army causing this trouble!"
"Sonny, what’s really going on here?" Peter was still somewhat confused.
Looking toward Peter, Brian explained, "I didn’t expect that you’d gain the appreciation of the law-enforcement personnel. Good for you. With their help, entering ten stars will pose no problem at all."
He sighed and continued, "Carrington Baldwin has many connections. I don’t think it’s possible to do much about him this time. At most, Baldwin’s Army will receive a warning. You need to be careful of them, both Father and Son; they are not the type to suffer in silence."
Peter responded, "They won’t do anything to them?" At this, his expression changed, as he genuinely had not anticipated this outcome. It seemed that while he benefited, he had also made enemies.
Brian said, "But, don’t be overly worried. After all, it’s within the Sect. They wouldn’t dare to harm you too much. Just be a little more cautious. Fortunately, once you acquire the Body Refining Art, you’ll be able to advance swiftly. Once you’ve become an official disciple, your ability to defend yourself will also be stronger."
"Was Carrington Baldwin also going for the reward?" Peter inquired.
Nodding, Brian replied, "Carrington is a twenty-seven-star individual, and he wasn’t too concerned about the Divine Artifact, as he has time before crossing his great tribulation. However, Baldwin’s Army is a twenty-star individual, needing to Cross Tribulation this time. So, among all contenders, Baldwin’s Army was also a hot candidate. It just wasn’t expected that they would resort to sabotage."
"Will this affect his reward?"
Brian answered, "It will certainly affect it. He now has no chance of getting the reward, which is another reason for you to be cautious. You have seriously offended him."
"What about you?" Peter knew that Brian had also offended the Baldwins, and he asked.
Snorting, Brian said, "Doesn’t everyone have a few friends? Don’t worry about me; I’ll seek help. You just focus on advancing as quickly as you can."
After saying this, Brian quickly left, presumably to gather information on the Baldwins’ situation.
Peter watched everyone leave, then went to reactivate the formation.
Looking at the formation as it once again protected the hundred acres of Divine Valley Fields, Peter sat down in front of his house.
The events of the day required serious consideration. While he had gained the Body Refining Art, which with confidence he could extrapolate to at least twenty levels, this benefit came at the cost of empowering him to assimilate more Life Stars, which was advantageous.
However, risks remained. The Baldwins would undoubtedly seek to cause him trouble. Peter had his own plans for this situation. He would have to rely on the Divine Stone Formation for self-protection. Of course, the faster he upgraded his cultivation, the less threatening they would be to him.
