Chapter 1835: Chapter 1833: Trapping a Person

Another day had passed, and Peter Brown was busy infusing energy into the Divine Valley, a task he had now become very proficient at.

At that moment, however, Brian Hughes approached with a grave expression and said to Peter, "Be careful, there have been incidents everywhere."

"What happened?"

"There have been cases of Gnawing Beasts devouring the Divine Valley plants in several areas."

Peter, somewhat puzzled, asked, "What’s so special about that?"

Shaking his head, Brian Hughes replied, "You may not be aware of this, but the gnawing is quite evident. It doesn’t resemble the behavior of unclaimed beasts. Those Divine Valley plants had their roots bitten through yet were not eaten. Upon research, it becomes clear that someone is directing these actions."

Gnawing Beasts?

Peter now recognized this peculiar type of beast.

Knowing Peter wasn’t aware of these facts, Brian Hughes explained, "Gnawing Beasts are a kind of tameable wild beast. Generally, those who have learned beast taming can domesticate them. They are akin to pets. There weren’t many people who bothered with taming them, as they weren’t that useful. But now, the emergence of commanded Gnawing Beasts has made it no small matter!"

Peter said, "You mean someone arrived here, captured these Gnawing Beasts, and is using them to cause sabotage?"

"Exactly, that’s what everyone thinks. Gnawing Beasts are not difficult to tame. If you can tame a lead beast, a large group will follow. Their destructive power is immense, capable of causing extensive damage to the Divine Valley Land, ruining all the sprouting Divine Valley plants."

Peter glanced at his hundred acres of land, realizing he needed to further strengthen the management here.

Brian Hughes added, "Many miscellaneous disciples have encountered problems cultivating their lands. Now, your place has likely become a target. It is said that many people are secretly eyeing this area. However, Gnawing Beasts are hard to defend against; they are very small, about the size of a fist, but their destructiveness is tremendous. I fear that if they swarm in, your land will be damaged."

"If that’s the case, it’s not hard to manage. We have formations they cannot penetrate from the outside. If they want to get in, they’d have to force their way, which is why my place has not been damaged," Peter said confidently in his formation.

Brian Hughes thought for a moment and nodded, "You’re right. Your place should have been sabotaged by now; the main reason it hasn’t been might indeed be due to the formation."

Peter smiled and said, "I suspect the Gnawing Beasts have already come but were unable to enter. Now, we shall see who else comes."

"Be cautious, my friend. I’ve placed all my hopes on your land."

Brian Hughes briefed Peter on the external situation. After some Miscellaneous Disciples lost their lives, the remaining dozen had cultivated quite a bit of Divine Valley, but their crops were not ideal. Apart from one or two whose harvests were acceptable, the rest were insufficient to meet the basic Divine Valley quota. If something happened to Peter’s Divine Valley, not only would Brian Hughes fail to achieve good results, he wouldn’t even be able to fulfill the basic task and would be penalized.

"No, I’m not going anywhere. I will stay here to guard this place. If anyone dares to sabotage it, I’ll fight them!"

Having said his piece, Brian Hughes sat cross-legged and watched over the Divine Valley Land.

Peter shook his head, not particularly concerned with Brian Hughes’s decision, and began to cook after taking out his Pot Stove.

With Peter’s culinary skills, Brian Hughes was naturally in for a treat, which was also why he didn’t want to leave.

After dinner, as night fell, both sat down and went back to their Cultivation.

Peter’s main focus was on developing a set of Body Refining Art suitable for himself, deriving from previous Cultivation Techniques he had learned. He was deeply immersed in this reflective process.

Meanwhile, Brian Hughes was working hard to suppress his energy, hoping to obtain a Divine Artifact and survive the great tribulation. It was a matter of life and death for him.

Time ticked away, and suddenly, both Peter and Brian Hughes opened their eyes and looked toward the Divine Valley Land.

"Damn it!"

Brian Hughes stood up.

As Brian Hughes rose, Peter followed suit, and in a flash, they were at the scene.

Upon arrival, they saw a person caught in the formation, wearing a Face mask and dressed in black clothes.

Clearly, this person had come stealthily, intending to cause damage.

Looking in front of the masked figure, Peter made another discovery: several small mouse-like beasts followed him.

Gnawing Beasts!

Without asking, Peter knew these were the Gnawing Beasts mentioned by Brian Hughes.

"Twenty stars!" Brian Hughes’s Voice reached Peter, who then realized that the masked man was from the ranks of the mighty twenty stars.

"What’s the strategy?" Considering that Brian Hughes was the lead, Peter sought his opinion.

"It must be him, the one secretly causing trouble. I didn’t expect this!"

"Sound the alarm immediately. I want to see who has the guts to create havoc!"

Without further consulting Peter, Brian Hughes sounded the alarm.

Peter glanced at his own formation, shaking his head internally, aware that he could no longer hide his knowledge of formations. However, Peter had always been ready to assist.

All along, although Brian Hughes had promised to recommend Peter for advancement, he had been more inclined to keep this a secret at first, preferring to wait until the task was completed before considering the recommendation. To put it bluntly, he wanted to make use of Peter.

Peter was well aware of this and kept silent. Today, with this sudden incident, Brian Hughes acted impulsively without much thought.

For Peter, this was good news. From then on, knowledge of his formation abilities would certainly attract attention, and he might even use this incident to catch the eye of the upper echelons.

Peter refrained from giving any reminder, instead turning his gaze toward the person trapped within the formation, sensing that the individual inside was not ordinary and might still be related to someone influential.

As Brian Hughes took out an object and threw it into the air, a bright light shot skyward.
