Chapter 1794 - 1792: Rescue
Chapter 1794: Chapter 1792: Rescue
Inside Nine Suns Valley, the prisoners of war from the Purpolia Kingdom were held in separate locations, all sealed by Seven-star experts’ bans, which directly sealed the energy below their navels. Here, they could only be considered ordinary people, with no possibility of harnessing star power.
Faced with such a situation, everyone’s expressions had long since turned gloomy, knowing that from this point on, their fate as slaves was sealed.
Thinking of the crushing defeat in this battle, they harbored intense hatred toward the leading generals, but at this stage, they too were helpless.
Considering they were guarded by more than 2,000 Flying Star Army soldiers, including a team of Seven-star Level experts, not one person believed in the possibility of rescue.
Several Seven-star Generals were gathered here, however, they were each confined separately in prison wagons.
They looked at each other, each letting out a sigh, not expecting such an end for Seven-star people like themselves.
"General, is there any chance our army will come to rescue us?" a young man asked an elderly man.
The old man, Caleb Henderson, was once a division commander, and being highly respected among these people, had been captured after using up his strength.
Caleb Henderson looked around and shook his head, "The defeat was not of our frontline, but a betrayal from the rear. Our battle strategies and defensive layouts were leaked, allowing the enemy to target our weaknesses with surprise attacks. The entire army must have collapsed by now; no power left in this place can save us!"
"Damn it, who could be such a traitor to our country!"
The Seven-star experts, actually the core of the army, also knew some inside information and were filled with anger.
Caleb Henderson sighed, "It’s the royal struggle. A pity for Prince Harvey, after such a resounding defeat, even if he returns he will have no future. The adversary’s intentions have been achieved, and sadly, our troops of one hundred thousand have been sacrificed!"
"Can His Highness the Prince possibly escape?" someone asked.
A middle-aged man named Austin Hall sighed, "I’m afraid it looks bleak; the enemy has come prepared specifically against Prince Harvey. How could they not send their greatest force after him? I reckon even the Prince with his Seven-star bodyguard would not last through a war of attrition."
It was clear, if that was the case, Prince Harvey’s chances of survival were slim to none, and escape seemed an opportunity far out of reach.
"True, guarding us are 2,000 from the Flying Star Army; anyone thinking of rescuing us would surely avoid confrontation with the Four Star Experts leading them. There’s no possibility of us being saved."
Another Seven-star expert named Gareth Wilson also sighed.
Just as he sighed, a series of booming sounds echoed.
Those previously in despair suddenly opened their eyes wide, a look of longing surfacing in their gazes.
"What’s happening?" Gareth Wilson shouted.
No one could answer his query, and even though their view of the outside was obstructed, everyone pricked up their ears, attentively listening for developments beyond the walls.
An even more intense rumble of bombardments came through.
"Listen! There are shouts of battle!"
Caleb Henderson listened for a while and then said, "The arriving force seems to be three to five hundred soldiers. What good can such a small troop do?" He could gauge the number of incoming soldiers from the battle cries, a skill from his old soldierly days.
Hearing that mere hundreds were approaching, everyone’s fleeting hope faded.
A few hundred attacking an Army of over two thousand? It was laughable, with no chance of success.
Nevertheless, the flicker of hope had everyone listening intently.
"That’s not right!" Austin Hall shouted, "Listen, the Flying Star Army seems to be losing!"
"Indeed, those few hundred seem to grow stronger with each battle!"
"What kind of attack are they using, to possess such Great Power?" Caleb Henderson’s face now bore a look of surprise.
"Yes, strange. Each boom is no weaker than Seven Stars, and the continued bombardments appear concentrated. Could it be a group of experts who have arrived?"
If indeed experts had come, the smaller numbers wouldn’t matter; hope returned to everyone’s faces.
Outside, the battle cries shook Heaven and Earth, and thousands of captives stared in the direction of the sounds with glowing eyes. Despite being unable to see or directly witness the distant events, due to barriers and walls, their breathing could not be calmed.
Following another intense explosion, the battle cries from Purpolia Kingdom’s side soared even higher.
"We’ve won!"
At that moment, Caleb Henderson’s eyes shone; he knew that those who had arrived had defeated the Flying Star Army and were now pursuing the fleeing personnel.
While everyone was still guessing, suddenly, the closed door was flung open, with streaks of light piercing in.
Then, a group from the Purpolia Kingdom rushed in.
To everyone’s amazement, a young man in princely garments strode in amidst the light.
Peter Brown had seen the outcome of the battle early on and had approached after ensuring his defense. When Peter arrived, the battle was over; Dennis Brown and the others wore expressions of elation, having slain over two thousand of the Flying Star Army with just three hundred men—an unheard-of feat in the history of the two nations’ wars, all thanks to the Energy Bombs Peter had deployed, marking a tremendous victory.
"Rescue them."
Peter led his people straight to the prisoners’ location.
Surprisingly, the Blue Star Kingdom’s forces had not slaughtered the captives.
After a brief thought, Peter understood—the battle had been too swift, so rapid that the enemy had no time to react, especially since an Energy Bomb had been used, a device they had never seen before.
Regardless, it was now a true victory. The thought of soon commanding an army of ten thousand filled Peter’s heart with great joy. With such a force, there was no need to return so soon. Staying here to carefully maneuver, Peter believed he could turn the tides anew.
