Edward Martin arrived at Heidi Jones’ place in no time.

"Mr. Roger, what brings you here today?"

Heidi Jones, dressed in her usual city chic outfit, had completely shed her rural maiden image, her overall persona elevated countless notches.

Edward Martin noticed Heidi Jones’ transformation, and he secretly admired Peter Brown’s knack for discerning people’s potential. Who could have imagined this country girl would have such a drastic transformation.

Despite his admiration for her beauty, Edward Martin dared not harbor any other thoughts. Especially after his phone conversation with Peter Brown, his reverence for him deepened even more.

"Shelley, how has your day been?"

"With all that you’ve done for me, how busy could I be? I’m just waiting for the business to open now."

"That’s good. If that’s the case, I can rest assured."

The two of them continued their conversation as they walked in.

After settling down, Edward turned to her, "Have you informed Peter about our plans over here through a phone call?"

"I’ve been too busy. That kid’s been running around everywhere, sometimes I can’t even get through to him on the phone."

Despite her complaints, Heidi Jones’ face was filled with a smile. She felt a deep sense of gratitude towards Peter Brown and considered herself to be on his team. Hence, an intimate affection naturally surfaced in her speech.

Edward’s eyes brightened witnessing their solidarity. He sighed and said, "I might not be able to help you out in the next phase!"

"What happened?"

Heidi was grateful towards Edward. Without his assistance in financial matters and being on-site to help, there’s no way she, as a country woman, could’ve set up this restaurant, especially with all the legal permits and licenses involved. She definitely would’ve found it much more difficult without Edward’s help.

Upon hearing Heidi’s question, Edward was quite open and explained some of his father’s situation. He didn’t treat Heidi as an ordinary country girl.

Heidi, a very smart woman herself, understood Edward’s situation upon hearing him and thought this was something she could possibly assist with. She said, "This kid never gives clear instructions. Don’t worry, I’ll just give him a call."

As she spoke, Heidi took out her cell phone and dialed Peter Brown’s number.

Seeing Heidi about to make a call, Edward quickly interjected, "He might be abroad; you should dial it like this." He then instructed her on how to dial an international call.

"Oh, that kid has run off abroad, what is he doing there?"

Edward was curious as well. After trying several times, he finally managed to get through to Peter Brown’s phone. He too was intrigued about what Peter could be doing abroad.

The call was quickly connected. At that time, Peter was preparing to refine a Qi solution. Upon seeing Heidi’s incoming call, he chuckled, "Aunt Collins, why are you calling me?"

"I’ve told you, Peter, call me ’Sister’."

Hearing Aunt Collins’ somewhat displeased tone, Peter laughed, "Alright, Sister it is. What’s up? You randomly thought of calling me."

"I mean Peter, did you just dump me in the provincial city and forget about me?"

"No way, didn’t I get Edward to help you out? If that young chap isn’t assisting you, don’t worry, I’ll sort him out when I get back."

Heidi laughed, "You rascal! Let me tell you, Edward’s a good man, he’s been very helpful. And as for the restaurant, all preparations are complete, and we’re just awaiting the opening ceremony. You’re the hidden boss, you won’t miss it, will you?"

"I’d love to attend too. It’s just that I still haven’t managed to sort things out here, so I won’t be able to make it. Let Edward organize it, it should be fine."

Peter was at a loss. After arriving in the Eastern Kingdom, all he could do was wait.

"Peter, Edward’s currently in a fix, just how much assistance have you provided him?"

"Didn’t I talk to him on the phone? I’ve already told him everything, there will be a result by tomorrow at the latest. No worries, it’s a small matter."

Peter knew the only reason Heidi made the call was because Edward was with her.

After conveying this, Peter said to Heidi, "Pass the phone to Edward, I want to talk to him."

Looking at the cell phone Heidi handed over, Edward somewhat awkwardly took the phone and said, "Peter, it’s Edward here."

"Edward, like I said, it’s a minor issue, don’t worry anymore. Your father’s matter will be resolved latest by tomorrow. It could even be sorted out today, so stop overthinking it. Be more attentive to Aunt Collins’ needs. I’m still busy over here, so I’m hanging up."

After speaking, Peter hung up the call.

Though it was just a single sentence, Edward’s mind was put at ease. A smile broke out on his face, "It seems Peter has already sorted it on his end."

Thinking about those who betrayed him, a dark, murderous intent flashed in Edward’s eyes.
