Chapter 1692: Chapter 1690 Recruitment Scene
All the technology had no issues; however, for Peter Brown, there was still one problem he faced now, which was the matter of workers. Such a large production factory couldn’t operate properly if it were staffed solely with migrant workers.
After setting an appointment with Alfie Martin, Peter planned to head to the provincial capital to recruit some people.
After the car stopped at Reid Nelson’s company, she was already coming out to greet him.
"I’ve heard a bit about your situation, what’s really going on? You’re not managing the mobile game company?"
The two talked as they walked into Reid Nelson’s office.
After sitting down, Peter took the tea Reid Nelson had brewed and smiled, "The mobile game company is still too small; if I want to do something, I’d definitely want to do something bigger than that."
Reid Nelson laughed and said, "Everyone says you’ve got kicked in the head, going to the countryside to develop."
Peter replied, "Ivy Cooper is now helping me at work."
Reid Nelson laughed and said, "That woman also has a good eye; her choice this time is the right one."
Peter looked at Reid Nelson and asked, "Would you consider coming over to help me out?"
"Isn’t Ivy Cooper helping you enough?"
Peter laughed, "It seems you haven’t yet realized how awesome my company is. If it starts up, it’s definitely going to be much stronger than your mobile game project."
Reid Nelson said, "Honestly, I still haven’t figured out exactly what project you’re doing, but with your capabilities, I believe you’re definitely going to do very well. I’d be willing to come over if you need me."
Seeing that Reid Nelson agreed to help without even understanding the situation, Peter had a smile on his face and said, "If you come over to my company, you won’t have that many shares; I can only give you 1% of the shares."
Hearing this, Reid Nelson’s eyes shone even brighter, "Now that you mention it, I feel even more certain of your company’s potential. There’s no question about it; even if you don’t give me any shares, I’m willing to work with you."
"Well, here’s what I’m thinking. You’d come on as the General Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. As the company grows and needs to expand, we can recruit more people to support you."
"If it’s as you described, the company is bound to grow very large; I’m worried I might not be able to handle it."
Peter smiled, "Don’t worry. I keep control of the core aspects. Nobody can take that away. If you don’t understand something about operations, just learn it. I believe you can do it."
"Wouldn’t you rather find a professional manager to handle it?"
Shaking his head, Peter said, "I’m the kind of person who places his trust in personal connections. Besides, you were the first person to work with me."
"What about Ivy Cooper?"
"Let’s see how it goes with her. I’m planning to place her as the office director."
"She truly is talented in that area."
Since the decision was made, Peter said, "I’ve set up a website for the company. From now on, that will be our base of operations. Take a look."
Reid Nelson was genuinely curious and opened the website Peter had created.
As Reid Nelson opened it, what she saw was an incredibly beautiful website, unlike any she had ever seen before.
"This website will gradually be promoted, and content will be progressively added."
"Cars?"
Seeing that the company’s first product was a car, Reid Nelson looked up in astonishment.
After looking for a while, she turned to Peter with even greater shock, "This is your project?"
"Correct, we’re making cars, a kind of car that can fly in the air."
"Can you really make it happen?"
Reid Nelson found herself increasingly unable to understand Peter; whatever he came up with was always so astounding.
"How many people have you recruited for your company now?"
"About forty or so."
"Explain the situation to them, and those who are willing to join can follow me to Flower Creek Village; the rest can leave."
Reid Nelson nodded, "Okay."
"Tomorrow, you bring people with me to Provincial University for a recruitment fair; we’re looking to recruit some people this time."
The next morning, Peter led a few people to the Provincial University campus.
Today was a campus recruitment fair hastily arranged by Alfie Martin. Students were present not only from Provincial University but also from other schools. Alfie Martin was very optimistic about the development of Peter’s company.
This was the only recruiting company present, and students were puzzled to see a screen placed there, and then a few people on stage.
After a brief introduction, Alfie Martin said to everyone, "Now, please welcome the chairman of Smith Orbit Technology and Provincial University Professor Peter Brown, to introduce his company."
The students were somewhat stunned, their minds racing without coming up with a professor at Provincial University fitting that description.
But since the president was introducing him, there mustn’t be a mistake, right?
Holding a microphone, Peter stood on stage and said, "Let me start with a brief introduction. My name is Peter Brown, and I am a professor here at Provincial University. You might have seen the recent articles I’ve written in the school’s publication. I have one in particular on anti-gravity in physics, and based on that theory, I have invented an anti-gravity flying car. That is what our company plans to produce."
There was stunned silence!
Everyone stared at Peter, dumbfounded.
They were not unworldly; they understood the potential of flying cars. Each person now yearned to learn more about the product.
"Now, look at the screen; this will show you what our flying cars are like."
Following Peter’s words, the screen displayed a car flying through the air.
The sleek design was completely different from the bland cars on the road, soaring freely in the air. In the event of a collision, both cars emerged unscathed, then continued flying. In case of energy depletion, the car automatically landed safely. The car’s interior space was like a home in the sky, fully equipped for intelligent operation...
Were they watching a sci-fi movie?
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes lit up with excitement; the desire for such a car was evident.
Seeing their expressions, Peter said, "For now, we’ve capped the speed at 500 kilometers per hour. This means, no matter where you work, getting home will be extremely convenient. Our company is currently located in a village over 300 kilometers from the provincial city. Conditions might be a bit tough for the time being, but if you work hard, the development prospects are immense. It’s up to you to recognize this opportunity. I won’t say much more; those interested in working for our company can sign up now."
Peter didn’t elaborate much further, trusting that those with insight would surely recognize the potential of the company.
