Chapter 1654: Chapter 1652 Shocked by Peter Brown’s Progress
"We’re taking off now," Peter Brown said to Salem Hill.
Salem Hill gave Sadie Smith a meaningful look and said to Peter with a thumbs up, "I’m really convinced by you, truly awesome."
Peter gave a smile and said, "You guys enjoy yourselves."
Sadie Smith hooked her arm through Peter’s, and the two of them started walking towards the exit.
After they walked out, Sadie Smith fetched her coat to put on, and then they left the entertainment venue.
"Peter, where to?"
"Come with me to my residence."
Considering they were from the same village, Peter wasn’t worried about anything and began to lead Sadie Smith out.
When Sadie saw Peter approach a luxury car and unlock it, she widened her eyes and said, "Is this your car?" She was not someone who couldn’t appreciate a good car and recognized at a glance that Peter’s car couldn’t be less than a million dollars.
"Yep, my car."
Now Sadie was even more shocked. She knew the situation quite well; she also knew about Peter’s family circumstances, which had not been very good. The fact that Peter owned such a car was completely beyond her expectations.
As she got into the car, Sadie looked around and said, "It can’t be less than a million dollars, right?"
"About that," replied Peter, who wasn’t really sure about the price himself since Rylan Williams and the others had given it to him. Now that the issue with the Carter Clan was resolved, Peter felt the pressure lift off his chest.
It was precisely because the pressure was suddenly gone that Peter wanted to relax a bit, and that’s why he thought of bringing Sadie back to enjoy a little.
"What kind of business do you actually do?"
It was then that Sadie realized she hadn’t been back to the village in a long time and wasn’t very clear about what was happening there.
"Provincial Construction Engineering Group Ltd. You know this company, don’t you?"
"How could I not know it? Our county has one of its subsidiaries handling a real estate project."
That being said, she looked at Peter and said, "Right, I seem to have heard that you were working for this company and got injured last time."
As she spoke, she looked at Peter with even more puzzlement, having heard from her family that Peter had sustained serious injuries.
But now, the situation made her even more confused. Peter was injured, wasn’t he? How had he suddenly become wealthy?
As Peter drove, he said, "I’m now the deputy manager of that subsidiary."
"What?" Sadie shouted in surprise, incredulous at how Peter had become a deputy manager.
"You’re joking, right? That company is said to be a provincial corporation; it’s hard enough to get a job there as a worker," Sadie said, confused.
Peter chuckled and said, "If I wasn’t the deputy manager, would those people have treated me like that today?"
Indeed!
Sadie thought it over and realized that it was true; she could tell from the way Salem Hill and the others were respectful towards Peter. She figured she needed to update her understanding of Peter.
As the car entered the residential area, Sadie Smith asked, "Is this where you live?"
He hmmed in acknowledgment and continued to drive in.
As they arrived at the villa area, Sadie Smith was even more surprised and looked at Peter, asking, "You live here?"
Peter stopped the car and got out.
When Sadie Smith got out of the car, she saw Peter take out a key to open the door.
"Your house?"
"Yeah, I bought this villa, got an inside price, 300,000, just finished renovating. You’re the first woman to move in, heh heh."
At this point, Sadie Smith really couldn’t understand Peter anymore. She thought she had some knowledge of him, but now she realized she couldn’t figure out his situation at all.
If she had treated Peter as an equal before, now she found herself becoming somewhat timid, truly at a loss about his current situation.
As both of them entered the room and Peter turned on the light, Sadie Smith’s eyes widened, taking in everything inside. At a glance, she could tell that no small sum of money had been spared on the decor. If that were the case, the house plus the renovation would have cost hundreds of thousands. Where did Peter get so much money?
It was at this moment that Sadie Smith began to believe that Peter had become a deputy manager. Only a leader could pull together that kind of money, and she guessed that Peter must have gotten a sum after becoming a leader.
Now, as Sadie Smith looked at Peter again, her eyes shone with delight.
Under the light, Peter was also seriously appraising the beauty standing before him.
In the entertainment venue, due to the lighting, it wasn’t very clear, but now under the bright light of the room, despite having seen many beauties, Peter couldn’t help but admire Sadie’s beauty. That girl was genuinely pretty, and her figure was even more alluring.
Alright, to be with this beauty once.
Now, Peter was also feeling it.
"Take a bath?" Peter looked at Sadie Smith.
At that moment, Sadie Smith became somewhat shy, her face flushing slightly as she hmmed in response.
As Peter led her into the shower area, Sadie Smith looked around at everything with even more envy.
"Peter, are you going to bathe together?" Summoning up her courage, Sadie Smith asked.
Looking at her, Peter said, "Sure."
When she heard Peter’s agreement, the shyness Sadie felt disappeared at once, and she boldly said to Peter, "Come on."
The two undressed and entered, and when Sadie Smith saw a large bathtub, she turned on the tap to start filling it with hot water, saying, "I’ll get the bathwater ready."
At that moment, Peter was not in such a hurry, smiling and saying, "Okay, I’ll get some fruits to eat."
As Sadie Smith watched Peter leave, her cheeks reddened again, not believing she would actually follow Peter here.
As she turned on the heater, the room grew even warmer, and Sadie suddenly had a thought. What was Hollis Wilson in comparison? Why should she marry him? She could see that Peter had some power; maybe she should ask if Peter could handle Hollis Wilson. If he could, then even if she couldn’t marry Peter, being his lover wouldn’t be so bad. Just with this car and house, being with Peter would be much better than being with Hollis. And who knows, maybe she would have even better days along with Peter’s rise.
The more she entertained such thoughts, the more Sadie wanted to please Peter. She was clear in her mind that when it came to dealing with men, as long as she made herself agreeable to Peter, he would surely help her.
